Community Leaders Event Hosted by Australian Government – St. George Indian Orthodox Church Attendees

On 10th December 2024, a distinguished group of community leaders gathered at a special event hosted by the Australian Government Department of Home Affairs. Among the notable attendees were Rev. Fr. Liju Samuel, Vicar of St. George Indian Orthodox Church in Brisbane, and Trustee Biju Mathew, who represented the church and the broader Indian Orthodox community.

The event, aimed at fostering stronger ties between community leaders and government representatives, provided a platform to discuss important social and cultural issues, as well as initiatives that can support and integrate diverse communities within Australia. It also highlighted the critical role of faith-based organisations in promoting community cohesion, diversity, and inclusion.

St. George Indian Orthodox Church, represented by its leaders, continues to be an integral part of the Brisbane community, actively participating in dialogues that seek to promote harmony, understanding, and mutual respect among diverse cultures and faiths in the country.

This event marked another step in strengthening the partnership between religious and governmental bodies, working together for the common good of all Australians.
