Farewell for Rev. Fr. Liju Samuel & Family – St George Prayer Group, Gold Coast

Farewell for Rev. Fr. Liju Samuel & Family – St George Prayer Group, Gold Coast
Gold Coast, QLD – The St George Prayer Group (Gold Coast), under the St George Indian Orthodox Church Brisbane, gathered in a spirit of love and gratitude to bid farewell to their vicar, Rev. Fr. Liju Samuel, his wife (Kochamma), and their daughter Leya. The heartfelt farewell was a touching occasion to honour the family's faithful service and spiritual leadership.
The program began with a warm welcome speech delivered by Mr Sibi Mathew, who reflected on Achen’s deep pastoral care and the positive impact the family had on the Gold Coast prayer group. Prayer group secretary, Mrs Susan Thampy, delivered a sincere thanksgiving speech, expressing the group's collective appreciation for Achen and his family's dedication.
As a symbol of the community’s love and gratitude, a farewell gift was presented to Rev. Fr. Liju Samuel and family on behalf of the prayer group. The gesture was warmly received, reflecting the deep bond shared over the years.
The evening was made even more special with two soul-stirring songs beautifully sung by Mr Mathew and his daughter Manna Mariam. Their performances touched the hearts of all present and received heartfelt appreciation from the entire church community.
The farewell was both an emotional and joyful event, celebrating the spiritual journey shared and wishing Rev. Fr. Liju Samuel and his family abundant blessings in their future endeavours.
