SGIOC Brisbane OCYM Hosts Sweet and Joyful Payasam Fest 2025

Brisbane, 31 August 2025 — The OCYM team of St. George’s Indian Orthodox Church (SGIOC) Brisbane successfully hosted Payasam Fest 2025 today, filling the Sunday with sweetness, tradition, and community spirit.

The event showcased three classic Kerala payasams — Ada Pradhaman, known as the king of payasams for its rich, traditional flavour; Parippu Payasam, a hearty and wholesome treat; and the creamy, nostalgic Semiya Payasam. Preorders had closed on 22 August, and the OCYM team reported an enthusiastic response, with a great turnout for the fest.

Organisers Vishak and Renish thanked everyone for supporting the initiative and making the day a success. They emphasised that the Payasam Fest was not just about sharing desserts, but about strengthening fellowship within the church community and celebrating cultural heritage together.

SGIOC Brisbane will now prepare for its main Onam celebration on 20 September 2025, which promises to be a colourful and joyful gathering for all.
