St. Dionysius Orthodox Fellowship Events 2025–2026 | SGIOC Brisbane

Brisbane, QLD – The St. Dionysius Orthodox Fellowship (SDOF), under the umbrella of the St. George Indian Orthodox Church (SGIOC) Brisbane, has officially announced its exciting calendar of events for 2025–2026. With a balanced blend of educational talks, cultural celebrations, and spiritual gatherings, the upcoming year promises to be both enriching and engaging for the community.
A Year of Learning and Fellowship
The events kick off on 25 May 2025 with a presentation by Dr. Boby Thomas on "Oral and Systemic Health," setting a strong tone for health awareness. This is followed by another vital session on 22 June, where specialist nurses Reena and Babitha will speak about cardiac health.
In July, Sunil Jacob will provide key insights on finance and mortgages (27 July), while August will feature a much-anticipated cultural treat – the Parotta Delicacy Festival on 24 August, celebrating South Indian cuisine with a vibrant community gathering.
Entertainment and Spirituality
24 October brings a night of music and joy with the Musical Night, promising great tunes and delicious snacks. Another highlight is the Lelyo D'Sawmo mid-Lent reflection night on 20 March 2026, which includes a spiritually themed movie.
Health, Heritage & Leadership
In January, the fellowship will host a health talk by Specialist Nurse Satheesh Babu on gastrointestinal health and bowel cancer awareness (25 January). Food and fellowship will again be celebrated during the Desi Kitchen event on 22 February, a gathering named Pethratha to promote culinary heritage.
Two dates—23 November 2025 and 26 April 2026—have been reserved for talks yet to be confirmed, leaving room for timely and responsive programming.
The fellowship year will conclude with the Election of Office Bearers for 2026–2027 on 24 May 2026, ensuring continued community leadership and engagement.
