Thybooso 2025: 40th Friday Lenten Retreat at St. George Indian Orthodox Church, Brisbane

Brisbane, April 5, 2025 – The St. George Indian Orthodox Church in Brisbane, in collaboration with the Marth Mariam Vanitha Samajam (MMVS), is set to hold its much-anticipated 40th Friday Lenten Retreat, titled Thybooso 2025, on April 11, 2025. The event will commence at 6:30 p.m. and promises to be a spiritually enriching experience for the community.

The retreat will feature a devotional address by Fr. Jose Panampuzha CMI, a respected figure known for his insightful and inspiring talks. The event is open to all, with the church extending a warm invitation to unite in prayer during this sacred season of Lent. The theme of the retreat, Thybooso, which means "repentance" in Syriac, reflects the focus on spiritual renewal and reflection as part of the Lenten journey.

In addition to the devotional program, the church has arranged for dinner to be provided, fostering a sense of fellowship and community among attendees. The St. George Indian Orthodox Church, a vibrant part of Brisbane’s Indian Orthodox community, continues its tradition of organizing meaningful events that bring people together in faith and devotion.

For more information about the retreat or other activities at St. George Indian Orthodox Church, members of the community are encouraged to reach out to the church directly. All are welcome to join in this special evening of prayer and reflection.
