¹¹As they heard these things, he went on and told a parable, because he was near Jerusalem, and they supposed that God’s Kingdom would be revealed immediately.

¹²He said therefore, “A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom and to return.

¹³He called ten servants of his and gave them ten mina coins, and told them, ‘Conduct business until I come.’

¹⁴But his citizens hated him, and sent an envoy after him, saying, ‘We don’t want this man to reign over us.’

¹⁵“When he had come back again, having received the kingdom, he commanded these servants, to whom he had given the money, to be called to him, that he might know what they had gained by conducting business.

¹⁶The first came before him, saying, ‘Lord, your mina has made ten more minas.’

¹⁷“He said to him, ‘Well done, you good servant! Because you were found faithful with very little, you shall have authority over ten cities.’

¹⁸“The second came, saying, ‘Your mina, Lord, has made five minas.’

¹⁹“So he said to him, ‘And you are to be over five cities.’

²⁰Another came, saying, ‘Lord, behold, your mina, which I kept laid away in a handkerchief,

²¹for I feared you, because you are an exacting man. You take up that which you didn’t lay down, and reap that which you didn’t sow.’

²²“He said to him, ‘Out of your own mouth I will judge you, you wicked servant! You knew that I am an exacting man, taking up that which I didn’t lay down and reaping that which I didn’t sow.

²³Then why didn’t you deposit my money in the bank, and at my coming, I might have earned interest on it?’

²⁴He said to those who stood by, ‘Take the mina away from him and give it to him who has the ten minas.’

²⁵“They said to him, ‘Lord, he has ten minas!’

²⁶‘For I tell you that to everyone who has, will more be given; but from him who doesn’t have, even that which he has will be taken away from him.

²⁷But bring those enemies of mine who didn’t want me to reign over them here, and kill them before me.’ ”

²⁸Having said these things, he went on ahead, going up to Jerusalem.

¹⁸രണ്ടാമത്തവൻ വന്നു: കർത്താവേ, നീ തന്ന റാത്തൽകൊണ്ടു അഞ്ചു റാത്തൽ സമ്പാദിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

¹⁹നീയും അഞ്ചു പട്ടണത്തിന്നു മേൽവിചാരകൻ ആയിരിക്ക എന്നു അവൻ അവനോടു കല്പിച്ചു.

²⁰മറ്റൊരുവൻ വന്നു: കർത്താവേ, ഇതാ നിന്റെ റാത്തൽ; ഞാൻ അതു ഒരു ഉറുമാലിൽ കെട്ടി വെച്ചിരുന്നു.

²¹നീ വെക്കാത്തതു എടുക്കുകയും വിതെക്കാത്തതു കൊയ്കയും ചെയ്യുന്ന കഠിനമനുഷ്യൻ ആകകൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ നിന്നെ ഭയപ്പെട്ടു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

²²അവൻ അവനോടു: ദുഷ്ട ദാസനേ, നിന്റെ വായിൽ നിന്നു തന്നേ ഞാൻ നിന്നെ ന്യായം വിധിക്കും. ഞാൻ വെക്കാത്തതു എടുക്കയും വിതെക്കാത്തതു കൊയ്കയും ചെയ്യുന്ന കഠിനമനുഷ്യൻ എന്നു നീ അറിഞ്ഞുവല്ലോ.

²³ഞാൻ വന്നു എന്റെ ദ്രവ്യം പലിശയോടുകൂടെ വാങ്ങിക്കൊള്ളേണ്ടതിന്നു അതു നാണ്യപീഠത്തിൽ ഏല്പിക്കാഞ്ഞതു എന്തു?

²⁴പിന്നെ അവൻ അരികെ നിലക്കുന്നവരോടു: ആ റാത്തൽ അവന്റെ പക്കൽ നിന്നു എടുത്തു പത്തു റാത്തലുള്ളവന്നു കൊടുപ്പിൻ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

¹³Watch therefore, for you don’t know the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.

¹⁴“For it is like a man going into another country, who called his own servants and entrusted his goods to them.

¹⁵To one he gave five talents, to another two, to another one, to each according to his own ability. Then he went on his journey.

¹⁶Immediately he who received the five talents went and traded with them, and made another five talents.

¹⁷In the same way, he also who got the two gained another two.

¹⁸But he who received the one talent went away and dug in the earth and hid his lord’s money.

¹⁹“Now after a long time the lord of those servants came, and settled accounts with them.

²⁰He who received the five talents came and brought another five talents, saying, ‘Lord, you delivered to me five talents. Behold, I have gained another five talents in addition to them.’

²¹“His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a few things, I will set you over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’

²²“He also who got the two talents came and said, ‘Lord, you delivered to me two talents. Behold, I have gained another two talents in addition to them.’

²³“His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a few things. I will set you over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’

²⁴“He also who had received the one talent came and said, ‘Lord, I knew you that you are a hard man, reaping where you didn’t sow, and gathering where you didn’t scatter.

²⁵I was afraid, and went away and hid your talent in the earth. Behold, you have what is yours.’

²⁶“But his lord answered him, ‘You wicked and slothful servant. You knew that I reap where I didn’t sow, and gather where I didn’t scatter.

²⁷You ought therefore to have deposited my money with the bankers, and at my coming I should have received back my own with interest.

²⁸Take away therefore the talent from him and give it to him who has the ten talents.

²⁹For to everyone who has will be given, and he will have abundance, but from him who doesn’t have, even that which he has will be taken away.

³⁰Throw out the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’

¹³ആകയാൽ നാളും നാഴികയും നിങ്ങൾ അറിയായ്കകൊണ്ടു ഉണർന്നിരിപ്പിൻ .

¹⁹വളരെ കാലം കഴിഞ്ഞശേഷം ആ ദാസന്മാരുടെ യജമാനൻ വന്നു അവരുമായി കണകൂ തീർത്തു.

²⁰അഞ്ചു താലന്തു ലഭിച്ചവൻ അടുക്കെ വന്നു വേറെ അഞ്ചു കൂടെ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു: യജമാനനേ, അഞ്ചു താലന്തല്ലോ എന്നെ ഏല്പിച്ചതു; ഞാൻ അഞ്ചു താലന്തുകൂടെ നേടിയിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

²¹അതിന്നു യജമാനൻ : നന്നു, നല്ലവനും വിശ്വസ്തനുമായ ദാസനേ, നീ അല്പത്തിൽ വിശ്വസ്തനായിരുന്നു; ഞാൻ നിന്നെ അധികത്തിന്നു വിചാരകനാക്കും; നിന്റെ യജമാനന്റെ സന്തോഷത്തിലേക്കു പ്രവേശിക്ക എന്നു അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

²²രണ്ടു താലന്തു ലഭിച്ചവനും അടുക്കെ വന്നു: യജമാനനേ, രണ്ടു താലന്തല്ലോ എന്നെ ഏല്പിച്ചതു; ഞാൻ രണ്ടു താലന്തുകൂടെ നേടിയിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

³⁰എന്നാൽ കൊള്ളരുതാത്ത ദാസനെ ഏറ്റവും പുറത്തുള്ള ഇരുട്ടിലേക്കു തള്ളിക്കളവിൻ ; അവിടെ കരച്ചലും പല്ലുകടിയും ഉണ്ടാകും.

²³Yahweh spoke to Moses and Aaron in Mount Hor, by the border of the land of Edom, saying,

²⁴“Aaron shall be gathered to his people; for he shall not enter into the land which I have given to the children of Israel, because you rebelled against my word at the waters of Meribah.

²⁵Take Aaron and Eleazar his son, and bring them up to Mount Hor;

²⁶and strip Aaron of his garments, and put them on Eleazar his son. Aaron shall be gathered, and shall die there.”

²⁷Moses did as Yahweh commanded. They went up onto Mount Hor in the sight of all the congregation.

²⁸Moses stripped Aaron of his garments, and put them on Eleazar his son. Aaron died there on the top of the mountain, and Moses and Eleazar came down from the mountain.

²⁹When all the congregation saw that Aaron was dead, they wept for Aaron thirty days, even all the house of Israel.

²³എദോംദേശത്തിന്റെ അതിരിങ്കലുള്ള ഹോർപർവ്വതത്തിൽവെച്ചു യഹോവ മോശെയോടും അഹരോനോടും അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു:

¹Moses went up from the plains of Moab to Mount Nebo, to the top of Pisgah, that is opposite Jericho. Yahweh showed him all the land of Gilead to Dan,

²and all Naphtali, and the land of Ephraim and Manasseh, and all the land of Judah, to the Western Sea,

³and the south, and the Plain of the valley of Jericho the city of palm trees, to Zoar.

⁴Yahweh said to him, “This is the land which I swore to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, saying, ‘I will give it to your offspring.’ I have caused you to see it with your eyes, but you shall not go over there.”

⁵So Moses the servant of Yahweh died there in the land of Moab, according to Yahweh’s word.

⁶He buried him in the valley in the land of Moab opposite Beth Peor, but no man knows where his tomb is to this day.

⁷Moses was one hundred twenty years old when he died. His eye was not dim, nor his strength gone.

⁸The children of Israel wept for Moses in the plains of Moab thirty days, until the days of weeping in the mourning for Moses were ended.

¹അനന്തരം മോശെ മോവാബ് സമഭൂമിയിൽനിന്നു യെരീഹോവിന്നെതിരെയുള്ള നെബോപർവ്വതത്തിൽ ‌പിസ്ഗാമുകളിൽ കയറി; യഹോവ ദാൻവരെ ഗിലെയാദ് ദേശം ഒക്കെയും

¹³Therefore the Lord Yahweh says,

¹⁴Behold, my servants will sing for joy of heart,

¹⁵You will leave your name for a curse to my chosen,

¹⁶so that he who blesses himself in the earth will bless himself in the God of truth;

¹⁷“For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth;

¹⁸But be glad and rejoice forever in that which I create;

¹⁹I will rejoice in Jerusalem,

²⁰“No more will there be an infant who only lives a few days,

¹³അതുകൊണ്ടു യഹോവയായ കർ‍ത്താവു ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: ഇതാ, എന്റെ ദാസന്മാർ‍ ഭക്ഷിക്കും; നിങ്ങളോ വിശന്നിരിക്കും; എന്റെ ദാസന്മാർ‍ പാനംചെയ്യും; നിങ്ങളോ ദാഹിച്ചിരിക്കും; എന്റെ ദാസന്മാർ‍ സന്തോഷിക്കും; നിങ്ങളോ ലജ്ജിച്ചിരിക്കും

¹⁵നിങ്ങളുടെ പേർ‍ നിങ്ങൾ എന്റെ വൃതന്മാർ‍കൂ ഒരു ശാപവാക്കായി വെച്ചേച്ചുപോകും; യഹോവയായ കർ‍ത്താവു നിന്നെ കൊന്നുകളയും; തന്റെ ദാസന്മാർ‍കൂ അവൻ വേറൊരു പേർ‍ വിളിക്കും

¹⁶മുൻ പിലത്തെ കഷ്ടങ്ങൾ മറന്നുപോകയും അവ എന്റെ കണ്ണിന്നു മറഞ്ഞിരിക്കയും ചെയ്കകൊണ്ടു ഭൂമിയിൽ തന്നെത്താൻ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നവൻ സത്യദൈവത്താൽ തന്നെത്താൻ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കും; ഭൂമിയിൽ സത്യം ചെയ്യുന്നവൻ സത്യദൈവത്തെച്ചൊല്ലി സത്യം ചെയ്യും

¹⁷ഇതാ, ഞാൻ പുതിയ ആകാശവും പുതിയ ഭൂമിയും സൃഷ്ടിക്കുന്നു; മുൻ പിലത്തെവ ആരും ഔർ‍ക്കുകയില്ല; ആരുടെയും മനസ്സിൽ വരികയുമില്ല

¹⁸ഞാൻ സൃഷ്ടിക്കുന്നതിനെക്കുറിച്ചു നിങ്ങൾ സന്തോഷിച്ചു എന്നേക്കും ഘോഷിച്ചുല്ലസിപ്പിൻ ‍; ഇതാ, ഞാൻ യെരൂശലേമിനെ ഉല്ലാസപ്രദമായും അതിലെ ജനത്തെ ആനൻ ദപ്രദമായും സൃഷ്ടിക്കുന്നു

¹⁹ഞാൻ യെരൂശലേമിനെക്കുറിച്ചു സന്തോഷിക്കയും എന്റെ ജനത്തെക്കുറിച്ചു ആനൻ ദിക്കയും ചെയ്യും; കരച്ചലും നിലവിളിയും എനി അതിൽ കേൾക്കയില്ല;

²⁰കുറെ ദിവസം മാത്രം ജീവിക്കുന്ന കുട്ടിയും ആയുസ്സു തികയാത്ത വൃദ്ധനും അവിടെ ഇനി ഉണ്ടാകയില്ല; ബാലൻ നൂറു വയസ്സു പ്രായമുള്ളവനായി മരിക്കും; പാപിയോ നൂറു വയസ്സുള്ളവനായിരുന്നാലും ശപിക്കപ്പെട്ടവൻ എന്നേ വരൂ

²⁶Therefore I testify to you today that I am clean from the blood of all men,

²⁷for I didn’t shrink from declaring to you the whole counsel of God.

²⁸Take heed, therefore, to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the assembly of the Lord and God which he purchased with his own blood.

²⁹For I know that after my departure, vicious wolves will enter in among you, not sparing the flock.

³⁰Men will arise from among your own selves, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after them.

³¹Therefore watch, remembering that for a period of three years I didn’t cease to admonish everyone night and day with tears.

³²Now, brothers, I entrust you to God and to the word of his grace, which is able to build up and to give you the inheritance among all those who are sanctified.

³³I coveted no one’s silver, gold, or clothing.

³⁴You yourselves know that these hands served my necessities, and those who were with me.

³⁵In all things I gave you an example, that so laboring you ought to help the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ ”

³⁶When he had spoken these things, he knelt down and prayed with them all.

³⁷They all wept freely, and fell on Paul’s neck and kissed him,

³⁸sorrowing most of all because of the word which he had spoken, that they should see his face no more. Then they accompanied him to the ship.

²⁶അതുകൊണ്ടു നിങ്ങളിൽ ആരെങ്കിലും നശിച്ചുപോയാൽ ഞാൻ കുറ്റക്കാരനല്ല എന്നു ഞാൻ ഇന്നേ ദിവസം നിങ്ങളോടു സാക്ഷ്യം പറയുന്നു.

²⁷ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ആലോചന ഒട്ടും മറെച്ചുവെക്കാതെ ഞാൻ മുഴുവനും അറിയിച്ചുതന്നിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.

²⁸നിങ്ങളെത്തന്നേയും താൻ സ്വന്തരക്തത്താൽ സമ്പാദിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന ദൈവത്തിന്റെ സഭയെ മേയ്പാൻ പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവു നിങ്ങളെ അദ്ധ്യക്ഷരാക്കിവെച്ച ആട്ടിൻ കൂട്ടം മുഴുവനെയും സൂക്ഷിച്ചുകൊൾവിൻ .

²⁹ഞാൻ പോയ ശേഷം ആട്ടിൻ കൂട്ടത്തെ ആദരിക്കാത്ത കൊടിയ ചെന്നായ്ക്കൾ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിൽ കടക്കും എന്നു ഞാൻ അറിയുന്നു.

³⁰ശിഷ്യന്മാരെ തങ്ങളുടെ പിന്നാലെ വലിച്ചുകളവാനായി വിപരീതോപദേശം പ്രസ്താവിക്കുന്ന പുരുഷന്മാർ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിൽ നിന്നും എഴുന്നേലക്കും.

³¹അതു കൊണ്ടു ഉണർന്നിരിപ്പിൻ ; ഞാൻ മൂന്നു സംവത്സരം രാപ്പകൽ ഇടവിടാതെ കണ്ണുനീർ വാർത്തുംകൊണ്ടു ഔരോരുത്തന്നു ബുദ്ധിപറഞ്ഞുതന്നതു ഔർത്തുകൊൾവിൻ .

³²നിങ്ങൾക്കു ആത്മികവർദ്ധന വരുത്തുവാനും സകല വിശുദ്ധന്മാരോടുംകൂടെ അവകാശം തരുവാനും കഴിയുന്ന ദൈവത്തിലും അവന്റെ കൃപയുടെ വചനത്തിലും ഞാൻ ഇപ്പോൾ നിങ്ങളെ ഭരമേല്പിക്കുന്നു.

³³ആരുടെയും വെള്ളിയോ പൊന്നോ വസ്ത്രമോ ഞാൻ മോഹിച്ചിട്ടില്ല.

³⁴എന്റെ മുട്ടിനും എന്നോടുകൂടെയുള്ളവർക്കും വേണ്ടി ഞാൻ ഈ കൈകളാൽ അദ്ധ്വാനിച്ചു എന്നു നങ്ങൾ തന്നേ അറിയുന്നുവല്ലോ.

³⁵ഇങ്ങനെ പ്രയത്നം ചെയ്തു പ്രാപ്തിയില്ലാത്തവരെ സാഹായിക്കയും, വാങ്ങുന്നതിനെക്കാൾ കൊടുക്കുന്നതു ഭാഗ്യം എന്നു കർത്താവായ യേശുതാൻ പറഞ്ഞ വാക്കു ഔർത്തുകൊൾകയും വേണ്ടതു എന്നു ഞാൻ എല്ലാം കൊണ്ടും നിങ്ങൾക്കു ദൃഷ്ടാന്തം കാണിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

³⁶ഇങ്ങനെ പറഞ്ഞിട്ടു അവൻ മുട്ടുകുത്തി അവരെല്ലാവരോടും കൂടെ പ്രാർത്ഥിച്ചു.

³⁷എല്ലാവരും വളരെ കരഞ്ഞു.

³⁸ഇനിമേൽ അവന്റെ മുഖം കാണുകയില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞ വാക്കിനാൽ അവർ ഏറ്റവും ദുഃഖിച്ചു പൗലൊസിന്റെ കഴുത്തിൽ കെട്ടിപ്പിടിച്ചു അവനെ ചുംബിച്ചു കപ്പലോളം അവനോടുകൂടെ വന്നു അവനെ യാത്രയയച്ചു.

¹³But we don’t want you to be ignorant, brothers, concerning those who have fallen asleep, so that you don’t grieve like the rest, who have no hope.

¹⁴For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep in Jesus.

¹⁵For this we tell you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will in no way precede those who have fallen asleep.

¹⁶For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with God’s trumpet. The dead in Christ will rise first,

¹⁷then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. So we will be with the Lord forever.

¹⁸Therefore comfort one another with these words.

¹But concerning the times and the seasons, brothers, you have no need that anything be written to you.

²For you yourselves know well that the day of the Lord comes like a thief in the night.

³For when they are saying, “Peace and safety,” then sudden destruction will come on them, like birth pains on a pregnant woman. Then they will in no way escape.

⁴But you, brothers, aren’t in darkness, that the day should overtake you like a thief.

⁵You are all children of light and children of the day. We don’t belong to the night, nor to darkness,

⁶so then let’s not sleep, as the rest do, but let’s watch and be sober.

⁷For those who sleep, sleep in the night; and those who are drunk are drunk in the night.

⁸But since we belong to the day, let’s be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and for a helmet, the hope of salvation.

⁹For God didn’t appoint us to wrath, but to the obtaining of salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,

¹⁰who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.

¹¹Therefore exhort one another, and build each other up, even as you also do.

¹³സഹോദരന്മാരേ, നിങ്ങൾ പ്രത്യാശയില്ലാത്ത മറ്റുള്ളവരെപ്പോലെ ദുഃഖിക്കാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നിദ്രകൊള്ളുന്നവരെക്കുറിച്ചു അറിവില്ലാതിരിക്കരുതു എന്നു ഞങ്ങൾ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നു.

¹⁴യേശു മരിക്കയും ജീവിച്ചെഴുന്നേൽക്കയും ചെയ്തു എന്നു നാം വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നു എങ്കിൽ അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ ദൈവം നിദ്രകൊണ്ടവരെയും യേശുമുഖാന്തരം അവനോടുകൂടെ വരുത്തും.

¹⁵കർത്താവിന്റെ പ്രത്യക്ഷതവരെ ജീവനോടെ ശേഷിക്കുന്നവരായ നാം നിദ്രകൊണ്ടവർക്കും മുമ്പാകയില്ല എന്നു ഞങ്ങൾ കർത്താവിന്റെ വചനത്താൽ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

¹⁶കർത്താവു താൻ ഗംഭീരനാദത്തോടും പ്രധാനദൂതന്റെ ശബ്ദത്തോടും ദൈവത്തിന്റെ കാഹളത്തോടുംകൂടെ സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിൽനിന്നു ഇറങ്ങിവരികയും ക്രിസ്തുവിൽ മരിച്ചവർ മുമ്പെ ഉയിർത്തെഴുന്നേൽക്കയും ചെയ്യും.

¹⁷പിന്നെ ജീവനോടെ ശേഷിക്കുന്ന നാം അവരോടു ഒരുമിച്ചു ആകാശത്തിൽ കർത്താവിനെ എതിരേല്പാൻ മേഘങ്ങളിൽ എടുക്കപ്പെടും; ഇങ്ങനെ നാം എപ്പോഴും കർത്താവിനോടുകൂടെ ഇരിക്കും.

¹⁸ഈ വചനങ്ങളെക്കൊണ്ടു അന്യോന്യം ആശ്വസിപ്പിച്ചുകൊൾവിൻ .

¹സഹോദരന്മാരേ, കാലങ്ങളെയും സമയങ്ങളെയും കുറിച്ചു നിങ്ങളെ എഴുതിയറിയിപ്പാൻ ആവശ്യമില്ല.

²കള്ളൻ രാത്രിയിൽ വരുമ്പോലെ കർത്താവിന്റെ നാൾ വരുന്നു എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ തന്നേ നന്നായി അറിയുന്നുവല്ലോ.

³അവർ സമാധാനമെന്നും നിർഭയമെന്നും പറയുമ്പോൾ ഗർഭിണിക്കു പ്രസവ വേദന വരുമ്പോലെ അവർക്കും പെട്ടെന്നു നാശം വന്നു ഭവിക്കും; അവർക്കും തെറ്റിയൊഴിയാവതുമല്ല.

⁴എന്നാൽ സഹോദരന്മാരേ, ആനാൾ കള്ളൻ എന്നപോലെ നിങ്ങളെ പിടിപ്പാൻ നിങ്ങൾ ഇരുട്ടിലുള്ളവരല്ല;

⁵നിങ്ങൾ എല്ലാവരും വെളിച്ചത്തിന്റെ മക്കളും പകലിന്റെ മക്കളും ആകുന്നു; നാം രാത്രിക്കും ഇരുളിന്നുമുള്ളവരല്ല.

⁶ആകയാൽ നാം ശേഷമുള്ളവരെപ്പോലെ ഉറങ്ങാതെ ഉണർന്നും സുബോധമായുമിരിക്ക.

⁷ഉറങ്ങുന്നവർ രാത്രിയിൽ ഉറങ്ങുന്നു. മദ്യപിക്കുന്നവർ രാത്രിയിൽ മദ്യപിക്കുന്നു.

⁸നാമോ പകലിന്നുള്ളവരാകയാൽ വിശ്വാസവും സ്നേഹവും എന്ന കവചവും ശിരസ്ത്രമായി രക്ഷയുടെ പ്രത്യാശയും ധരിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു സുബോധമായിരിക്ക.

⁹ദൈവം നമ്മെ കോപത്തിന്നല്ല,

¹⁰നാം ഉണർന്നിരുന്നാലും ഉറങ്ങിയാലും തന്നോടുകൂടെ ജീവിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നമുക്കു വേണ്ടി മരിച്ച നമ്മുടെ കർത്താവായ യേശുക്രിസ്തുമൂലം രക്ഷയെ പ്രാപിപ്പാനത്രേ നിയമിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതു.

¹¹ആകയാൽ നിങ്ങൾ ചെയ്തുവരുന്നതുപോലെ അന്യോന്യം പ്രബോധിപ്പിച്ചും തമ്മിൽ ആത്മിക വർദ്ധനവരുത്തിയും പോരുവിൻ .

⁴²Watch therefore, for you don’t know in what hour your Lord comes.

⁴³But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what watch of the night the thief was coming, he would have watched, and would not have allowed his house to be broken into.

⁴⁴Therefore also be ready, for in an hour that you don’t expect, the Son of Man will come.

⁴⁵“Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom his lord has set over his household, to give them their food in due season?

⁴⁶Blessed is that servant whom his lord finds doing so when he comes.

⁴⁷Most certainly I tell you that he will set him over all that he has.

⁴⁸But if that evil servant should say in his heart, ‘My lord is delaying his coming,’

⁴⁹and begins to beat his fellow servants, and eat and drink with the drunkards,

⁵⁰the lord of that servant will come in a day when he doesn’t expect it and in an hour when he doesn’t know it,

⁵¹and will cut him in pieces and appoint his portion with the hypocrites. That is where the weeping and grinding of teeth will be.

⁴²നിങ്ങളുടെ കർത്താവു ഏതു ദിവസത്തിൽ വരുന്നു എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ അറിയായ്ക കൊണ്ടു ഉണർന്നിരിപ്പിൻ .

⁴³കള്ളൻ വരുന്നയാമം ഇന്നതെന്നു വീട്ടുടയവൻ അറിഞ്ഞു എങ്കിൽ അവൻ ഉണർന്നിരിക്കയും തന്റെ വീടു തുരക്കുവാൻ സമ്മതിക്കാതിരിക്കയും ചെയ്യും എന്നു അറിയുന്നുവല്ലോ.

⁴⁴അങ്ങനെ നിങ്ങൾ നിനെക്കാത്ത നാഴികയിൽ മനുഷ്യപുത്രൻ വരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു നിങ്ങളും ഒരുങ്ങിയിരിപ്പിൻ .

⁴⁵എന്നാൽ യജമാനൻ തന്റെ വീട്ടുകാർക്കും തത്സമയത്തു ഭക്ഷണം കൊടുക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവരുടെ മേൽ ആക്കിവെച്ച വിശ്വസ്തനും ബുദ്ധിമാനും ആയ ദാസൻ ആർ?

⁴⁶യജമാനൻ വരുമ്പോൾ അങ്ങനെ ചെയ്തു കാണുന്ന ദാസൻ ഭാഗ്യവാൻ .

⁴⁷അവൻ അവനെ തനിക്കുള്ള സകലത്തിന്മേലും യജമാനൻ ആക്കിവേക്കും എന്നു ഞാൻ സത്യമായിട്ടു നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

⁴⁸എന്നാൽ അവൻ ദുഷ്ടദാസനായി: യജമാനൻ വരുവാൻ താമസിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഹൃദയംകൊണ്ടു പറഞ്ഞു,

⁴⁹കൂട്ടു ദാസന്മാരെ അടിപ്പാനും കുടിയന്മാരോടുകൂടി തിന്നുകുടിപ്പാനും തുടങ്ങിയാൽ

⁵⁰ആ ദാസൻ നിരൂപിക്കാത്ത നാളിലും അറിയാത്ത നാഴികയിലും യജമാനൻ വന്നു അവനെ ദണ്ഡിപ്പിച്ചു അവന്നു കപടഭക്തിക്കാരോടുകൂടെ പങ്കുകല്പിക്കും; അവിടെ കരച്ചലും പല്ലുകടിയും ഉണ്ടാകും
