¹⁴Coming to the disciples, he saw a great multitude around them, and scribes questioning them.

¹⁵Immediately all the multitude, when they saw him, were greatly amazed, and running to him, greeted him.

¹⁶He asked the scribes, “What are you asking them?”

¹⁷One of the multitude answered, “Teacher, I brought to you my son, who has a mute spirit;

¹⁸and wherever it seizes him, it throws him down; and he foams at the mouth, grinds his teeth, and becomes rigid. I asked your disciples to cast it out, and they weren’t able.”

¹⁹He answered him, “Unbelieving generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I bear with you? Bring him to me.”

²⁰They brought him to him, and when he saw him, immediately the spirit convulsed him and he fell on the ground, wallowing and foaming at the mouth.

²¹He asked his father, “How long has it been since this has been happening to him?”

²²Often it has cast him both into the fire and into the water to destroy him. But if you can do anything, have compassion on us and help us.”

²³Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”

²⁴Immediately the father of the child cried out with tears, “I believe. Help my unbelief!”

²⁵When Jesus saw that a multitude came running together, he rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to him, “You mute and deaf spirit, I command you, come out of him, and never enter him again!”

²⁶After crying out and convulsing him greatly, it came out of him. The boy became like one dead, so much that most of them said, “He is dead.”

²⁷But Jesus took him by the hand and raised him up; and he arose.

²⁸When he had come into the house, his disciples asked him privately, “Why couldn’t we cast it out?”

²⁹He said to them, “This kind can come out by nothing but by prayer and fasting.”

¹⁴അവൻ ശിഷ്യന്മാരുടെ അടുക്കെ വന്നാറെ വലിയ പുരുഷാരം അവരെ ചുറ്റി നിലക്കുന്നതും ശാസ്ത്രിമാർ അവരോടു തർക്കിക്കുന്നതും കണ്ടു.

¹⁵പുരുഷാരം അവനെ കണ്ട ഉടനെ ഭ്രമിച്ചു ഔടിവന്നു അവനെ വന്ദിച്ചു.

¹⁶അവൻ അവരോടു: നിങ്ങൾ അവരുമായി തർക്കിക്കുന്നതു എന്തു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

¹⁷അതിന്നു പുരുഷാരത്തിൽ ഒരുത്തൻ : ഗുരോ, ഊമനായ ആത്മാവുള്ള എന്റെ മകനെ ഞാൻ നിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.

¹⁸അതു അവനെ എവിടെവെച്ചു പിടിച്ചാലും അവനെ തള്ളിയിടുന്നു; പിന്നെ അവൻ നുരെച്ചു പല്ലുകടിച്ചു വരണ്ടുപോകുന്നു. അതിനെ പുറത്താക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാൻ നിന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരോടു പറഞ്ഞിട്ടു അവർക്കും കഴിഞ്ഞില്ല എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

¹⁹അവൻ അവരോടു: അവിശ്വാസമുള്ള തലമുറയേ, എത്രത്തോളം ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു കൂടെ ഇരിക്കും? എത്രത്തോളം നിങ്ങളെ പൊറുക്കും? അവനെ എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടുവരുവിൻ എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

²⁰അവർ അവനെ അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു. അവനെ കണ്ട ഉടനെ ആത്മാവു അവനെ ഇഴെച്ചു; അവൻ നിലത്തു വീണു നുരെച്ചുരുണ്ടു.

²¹ഇതു അവന്നു സംഭവിച്ചിട്ടു എത്ര കാലമായി എന്നു അവന്റെ അപ്പനോടു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു അവൻ : ചെറുപ്പംമുതൽ തന്നേ.

²²അതു അവനെ നശിപ്പിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു പലപ്പോഴും തീയിലും വെള്ളത്തിലും തള്ളിയിട്ടിട്ടുണ്ടു; നിന്നാൽ വല്ലതും കഴിയും എങ്കിൽ മനസ്സല്ലിഞ്ഞു ഞങ്ങളെ സഹായിക്കേണമേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. യേശു അവനോടു: നിന്നാൽ കഴിയും എങ്കിൽ എന്നോ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നവന്നു സകലവും കഴിയും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

²³യേശു അവനോടു: നിന്നാൽ കഴിയും എങ്കിൽ എന്നോ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നവന്നു സകലവും കഴിയും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

²⁴ബാലന്റെ അപ്പൻ ഉടനെ നിലവിളിച്ചു: കർത്താവേ, ഞാൻ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ അവിശ്വാസത്തിനു സഹായിക്കേണമേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

²⁵എന്നാറെ പുരുഷാരം ഔടിക്കൂടുന്നതു യേശു കണ്ടിട്ടു അശുദ്ധാത്മാവിനെ ശാസിച്ചു: ഊമനും ചെകിടനുമായ ആത്മാവേ, ഇവനെ വിട്ടു പോ; ഇനി അവനിൽ കടക്കരുതു എന്നു ഞാൻ നിന്നോടു കല്പിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

²⁶അപ്പോൾ അതു നിലവിളിച്ചു അവനെ വളരെ ഇഴെച്ചു പുറപ്പെട്ടുപോയി. മരിച്ചുപോയി എന്നു പലരും പറവാൻ തക്കവണ്ണം അവൻ മരിച്ച പോലെ ആയി.

²⁷യേശു അവനെ കൈകൂ പിടിച്ചു നിവർത്തി, അവൻ എഴുന്നേറ്റു.

²⁸വീട്ടിൽ വന്നശേഷം ശിഷ്യന്മാർ സ്വകാര്യമായി അവനോടു: ഞങ്ങൾക്കു അതിനെ പുറത്താക്കുവാൻ കഴിയാഞ്ഞതു എന്തു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

²⁹പ്രാർത്ഥനയാൽ അല്ലാതെ ഈ ജാതി ഒന്നിനാലും പുറപ്പെട്ടുപോകയില്ല എന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു.

³²At evening, when the sun had set, they brought to him all who were sick and those who were possessed by demons.

³³All the city was gathered together at the door.

³⁴He healed many who were sick with various diseases and cast out many demons. He didn’t allow the demons to speak, because they knew him.

³⁵Early in the morning, while it was still dark, he rose up and went out, and departed into a deserted place, and prayed there.

³⁶Simon and those who were with him searched for him.

³⁷They found him and told him, “Everyone is looking for you.”

³⁸He said to them, “Let’s go elsewhere into the next towns, that I may preach there also, because I came out for this reason.”

³⁹He went into their synagogues throughout all Galilee, preaching and casting out demons.

⁴⁰A leper came to him, begging him, kneeling down to him, and saying to him, “If you want to, you can make me clean.”

⁴¹Being moved with compassion, he stretched out his hand, and touched him, and said to him, “I want to. Be made clean.”

⁴²When he had said this, immediately the leprosy departed from him and he was made clean.

⁴³He strictly warned him and immediately sent him out,

⁴⁴and said to him, “See that you say nothing to anybody, but go show yourself to the priest and offer for your cleansing the things which Moses commanded, for a testimony to them.”

⁴⁵But he went out, and began to proclaim it much, and to spread about the matter, so that Jesus could no more openly enter into a city, but was outside in desert places. People came to him from everywhere.

³²വൈകുന്നേരം സൂര്യൻ അസ്തമിച്ചശേഷം അവർ സകലവിധദീനക്കാരെയും ഭൂതഗ്രസ്തരെയും അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.

³³പട്ടണം ഒക്കെയും വാതിൽക്കൽ വന്നു കൂടിയിരുന്നു.

³⁴നാനവ്യാധികളാൽ വലഞ്ഞിരുന്ന അനേകരെ അവൻ സൌഖ്യമാക്കി, അനേകം ഭൂതങ്ങളെയും പുറത്താക്കി; ഭൂതങ്ങൾ അവനെ അറികകൊണ്ടു സംസാരിപ്പാൻ അവയെ സമ്മതിച്ചില്ല.

³⁵അതികാലത്തു ഇരുട്ടോടെ അവൻ എഴുന്നേറ്റു പുറപ്പെട്ടു ഒരു നിർജ്ജനസ്ഥലത്തു ചെന്നു പ്രാർത്ഥിച്ചു.

³⁶ശിമോനും കൂടെയുള്ളവരും അവന്റെ പിന്നാലെ ചെന്നു,

³⁷അവനെ കണ്ടപ്പോൾ: എല്ലാവരും നിന്നെ അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

³⁸അവൻ അവരോടു: ഞാൻ അടുത്ത ഊരുകളിലും പ്രസംഗിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നാം അവിടേക്കു പോക; ഇതിന്നായിട്ടല്ലോ ഞാൻ പുറപ്പെട്ടു വന്നിരിക്കുന്നതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

³⁹അങ്ങനെ അവൻ ഗലീലയിൽ ഒക്കെയും അവരുടെ പള്ളികളിൽ ചെന്നു പ്രസംഗിക്കയും ഭൂതങ്ങളെ പുറത്താക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു.

⁴⁰ഒരു കുഷ്ഠരോഗി അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നു മുട്ടുകുത്തി: നിനക്കു മനസ്സുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ എന്നെ ശുദ്ധമാക്കുവാൻ കഴിയും എന്നു അപേക്ഷിച്ചു.

⁴¹യേശു മനസ്സലിഞ്ഞു കൈ നീട്ടി അവനെ തൊട്ടു:

⁴²മനസ്സുണ്ടു, ശുദ്ധമാക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞ ഉടനെ കുഷ്ഠം വിട്ടുമാറി അവന്നു ശുദ്ധിവന്നു.

⁴³യേശു അവനെ അമർച്ചയായി ശാസിച്ചു:

⁴⁴നോകൂ, ആരോടും ഒന്നും പറയരുതു; എന്നാൽ ചെന്നു പുരോഹിതന്നു നിന്നെത്തന്നേ കാണിച്ചു, നിന്റെ ശുദ്ധീകരണത്തിന്നു വേണ്ടി മോശെ കല്പിച്ചതു അവർക്കും സാക്ഷ്യത്തിന്നായി അർപ്പിക്ക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവനെ വിട്ടയച്ചു.

⁴⁵അവനോ പുറപ്പെട്ടു വളരെ ഘോഷിപ്പാനും വസ്തുത പ്രസംഗിപ്പാനും തുടങ്ങി; അതിനാൽ യേശുവിന്നു പരസ്യമായി പട്ടണത്തിൽ കടപ്പാൻ കഴിയായ്കകൊണ്ടു അവൻ പുറത്തു നിർജ്ജനസ്ഥലങ്ങളിൽ പാർത്തു; എല്ലാടത്തു നിന്നും ആളുകൾ അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നു കൂടി.

⁶Noah was six hundred years old when the flood of waters came on the earth.

⁷Noah went into the ship with his sons, his wife, and his sons’ wives, because of the floodwaters.

⁸Clean animals, unclean animals, birds, and everything that creeps on the ground

⁹went by pairs to Noah into the ship, male and female, as God commanded Noah.

¹⁰After the seven days, the floodwaters came on the earth.

¹¹In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, on the seventeenth day of the month, on that day all the fountains of the great deep burst open, and the sky’s windows opened.

¹²It rained on the earth forty days and forty nights.

¹³In the same day Noah, and Shem, Ham, and Japheth—the sons of Noah—and Noah’s wife and the three wives of his sons with them, entered into the ship—

¹⁴they, and every animal after its kind, all the livestock after their kind, every creeping thing that creeps on the earth after its kind, and every bird after its kind, every bird of every sort.

¹⁵Pairs from all flesh with the breath of life in them went into the ship to Noah.

¹⁶Those who went in, went in male and female of all flesh, as God commanded him; then Yahweh shut him in.

¹⁷The flood was forty days on the earth. The waters increased, and lifted up the ship, and it was lifted up above the earth.

¹⁸The waters rose, and increased greatly on the earth; and the ship floated on the surface of the waters.

¹⁹The waters rose very high on the earth. All the high mountains that were under the whole sky were covered.

²⁰The waters rose fifteen cubits higher, and the mountains were covered.

²¹All flesh died that moved on the earth, including birds, livestock, animals, every creeping thing that creeps on the earth, and every man.

²²All on the dry land, in whose nostrils was the breath of the spirit of life, died.

²³Every living thing was destroyed that was on the surface of the ground, including man, livestock, creeping things, and birds of the sky. They were destroyed from the earth. Only Noah was left, and those who were with him in the ship.

²⁴The waters flooded the earth one hundred fifty days.

⁶ഭൂമിയിൽ ജലപ്രളയം ഉണ്ടായപ്പോൾ നോഹെക്കു അറുനൂറു വയസ്സായിരുന്നു.

⁷നോഹയും പുത്രന്മാരും അവൻറെ ഭാര്യയും പുത്രന്മാരുടെ ഭാര്യമാരും ജലപ്രളയം നിമിത്തം പെട്ടകത്തിൽ കടന്നു.

⁸ശുദ്ധിയുള്ള മൃഗങ്ങളിൽ നിന്നും ശുദ്ധിയില്ലാത്ത മൃഗങ്ങളിൽനിന്നും പറവകളിൽനിന്നും ഭൂമിയിലുള്ള ഇഴജാതിയിൽനിന്നൊക്കെയും,

⁹ദൈവം നോഹയോടു കല്പിച്ചപ്രകാരം ഈരണ്ടീരണ്ടു ആണും പെണ്ണുമായി നോഹയുടെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നു പെട്ടകത്തിൽ കടന്നു.

¹⁰ഏഴു ദിവസം കഴിഞ്ഞശേഷം ഭൂമിയിൽ ജലപ്രളയം തുടങ്ങി.

¹¹നോഹയുടെ ആയുസ്സിൻറെ അറുനൂറാം സംവത്സരത്തിൽ രണ്ടാം മാസം പതിനേഴാം തിയ്യതി, അന്നുതന്നേ ആഴിയുടെ ഉറവുകൾ ഒക്കെയും പിളർന്നു; ആകാശത്തിൻറെ കിളിവാതിലുകളും തുറന്നു.

¹²നാല്പതു രാവും നാല്പതു പകലും ഭൂമിയിൽ മഴ പെയ്തു.

¹³അന്നുതന്നേ നോഹയും നോഹയുടെ പുത്രന്മാരായ ശേമും ഹാമും യാഫേത്തും നോഹയുടെ ഭാര്യയും അവൻറെ പുത്രന്മാരുടെ മൂന്നു ഭാര്യമാരും പെട്ടകത്തിൽ കടന്നു.

¹⁴അവരും അതതു തരം കാട്ടുമൃഗങ്ങളും അതതു തരം കന്നുകാലികളും നിലത്തിഴയുന്ന അതതുതരം ഇഴജാതിയും അതതു തരം പറവകളും അതതു തരം പക്ഷികളും തന്നേ.

¹⁵ജീവശ്വാസമുള്ള സർവ്വജഡത്തിൽനിന്നും ഈരണ്ടീരണ്ടു നോഹയുടെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നു പെട്ടകത്തിൽ കടന്നു.

¹⁶ദൈവം അവനോടു കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ അകത്തുകടന്നവ സർവ്വജഡത്തിൽനിന്നും ആണും പെണ്ണുമായി കടന്നു; യഹോവ വാതിൽ അടെച്ചു.

¹⁷ഭൂമിയിൽ നാല്പതു ദിവസം ജലപ്രളയം ഉണ്ടായി, വെള്ളം വർദ്ധിച്ചു പെട്ടകം പൊങ്ങി, നിലത്തുനിന്നു ഉയർന്നു.

¹⁸വെള്ളം പൊങ്ങി ഭൂമിയിൽ ഏറ്റേവും പെരുകി; പെട്ടകം വെള്ളത്തിൽ ഒഴുകിത്തുടങ്ങി.

¹⁹വെള്ളം ഭൂമിയിൽഅത്യധികം പൊങ്ങി, ആകാശത്തിൻകീഴെങ്ങമുള്ള ഉയർന്ന പർവ്വതങ്ങളൊക്കെയും മൂടിപ്പോയി.

²⁰പർവ്വതങ്ങൾ മൂടുവാൻതക്കവണ്ണം വെള്ളം പതിനഞ്ചു മുഴം അവെക്കു മീതെ പൊങ്ങി.

²¹പറവകളും കന്നുകാലികളും കാട്ടുമൃഗങ്ങളും നിലത്തു ഇഴയുന്ന എല്ലാ ഇഴജാതിയുമായി ഭൂചരജഡമൊക്കെയും സകലമനുഷ്യരും ചത്തുപോയി.

²²കരയിലുള്ള സകലത്തിലും മൂക്കിൽ ജീവശ്വാസമുള്ളതൊക്കെയും ചത്തു.

²³ഭൂമിയിൽ മനുഷ്യനും മൃഗങ്ങളും ഇഴജാതിയും ആകാശത്തിലെ പറവകളുമായി ഭൂമിയിൽ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന സകലജീവജാലങ്ങളും നശിച്ചുപോയി; അവ ഭൂമിയിൽനിന്നു നശിച്ചുപോയി; നോഹയും അവനോടുകൂടെ പെട്ടകത്തിൽ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നവരും മാത്രം ശേഷിച്ചു.

²⁴വെള്ളം ഭൂമിയിൽ നൂറ്റമ്പതു ദിവസം പൊങ്ങിക്കൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

¹Now Naaman, captain of the army of the king of Syria, was a great man with his master, and honorable, because by him Yahweh had given victory to Syria; he was also a mighty man of valor, but he was a leper.

²The Syrians had gone out in bands, and had brought away captive out of the land of Israel a little girl, and she waited on Naaman’s wife.

³She said to her mistress, “I wish that my lord were with the prophet who is in Samaria! Then he would heal him of his leprosy.”

⁴Someone went in and told his lord, saying, “The girl who is from the land of Israel said this.”

⁵The king of Syria said, “Go now, and I will send a letter to the king of Israel.”

⁶He brought the letter to the king of Israel, saying, “Now when this letter has come to you, behold, I have sent Naaman my servant to you, that you may heal him of his leprosy.”

⁷When the king of Israel had read the letter, he tore his clothes and said, “Am I God, to kill and to make alive, that this man sends to me to heal a man of his leprosy? But please consider and see how he seeks a quarrel against me.”

⁸It was so, when Elisha the man of God heard that the king of Israel had torn his clothes, that he sent to the king, saying, “Why have you torn your clothes? Let him come now to me, and he shall know that there is a prophet in Israel.”

⁹So Naaman came with his horses and with his chariots, and stood at the door of the house of Elisha.

¹⁰Elisha sent a messenger to him, saying, “Go and wash in the Jordan seven times, and your flesh shall come again to you, and you shall be clean.”

¹¹But Naaman was angry, and went away and said, “Behold, I thought, ‘He will surely come out to me, and stand, and call on the name of Yahweh his God, and wave his hand over the place, and heal the leper.’

¹²Aren’t Abanah and Pharpar, the rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? Couldn’t I wash in them and be clean?” So he turned and went away in a rage.

¹³His servants came near and spoke to him, and said, “My father, if the prophet had asked you do some great thing, wouldn’t you have done it? How much rather then, when he says to you, ‘Wash, and be clean’?”

¹⁴Then went he down and dipped himself seven times in the Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God; and his flesh was restored like the flesh of a little child, and he was clean.

¹അരാംരാജാവിന്റെ സേനാപതിയായ നയമാൻ മുഖാന്തരം യഹോവ അരാമിന്നു ജയം നല്കിയതുകൊണ്ടു അവന്റെ യജമാനൻ അവനെ മഹാനും മാന്യനും ആയി എണ്ണി; അവൻ പരാക്രമശാലി എങ്കിലും കുഷ്ഠരോഗി ആയിരുന്നു.

²അരാമ്യർ കവർച്ചപ്പടയായി വന്നിരുന്നപ്പോൾ യിസ്രായേൽദേശത്തുനിന്നു ഒരു ചെറിയ പെൺകുട്ടിയെ പിടിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു പോയിരുന്നു; അവൾ നയമാന്റെ ഭാര്യെക്കു ശുശ്രൂഷ ചെയ്തുവന്നു.

³അവൾ തന്റെ യജമാനത്തിയോടു: യജമാനൻ ശമർയ്യയിലെ പ്രവാചകന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ഒന്നു ചെന്നെങ്കിൽ അവൻ അവന്റെ കുഷ്ഠരോഗം മാറ്റിക്കൊടുക്കുമായിരുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

⁴അവൻ ചെന്നു തന്റെ യജമാനനോടു: യിസ്രായേൽദേശക്കാരത്തിയായ പെൺകുട്ടി ഇന്നിന്നപ്രകാരം സംസാരിച്ചു എന്നു ബോധിപ്പിച്ചു.

⁵നീ പോയി വരിക; ഞാൻ യിസ്രായേൽരാജാവിന്നു ഒരു എഴുത്തു തരാം എന്നു അരാംരാജാവു പറഞ്ഞു. അങ്ങനെ അവൻ പത്തു താലന്തു വെള്ളിയും ആറായിരം ശേക്കെൽ പൊന്നും പത്തു കൂട്ടം വസ്ത്രവും എടുത്തു പുറപ്പെട്ടു.

⁶അവൻ യിസ്രായേൽരാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ എഴുത്തുംകൊണ്ടു ചെന്നു; അതിൽ: ഈ എഴുത്തു കൊണ്ടുവരുന്ന എന്റെ ഭൃത്യൻ നയമാന്റെ കുഷ്ഠരോഗം നീ മാറ്റിക്കൊടുക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാൻ അവനെ നിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ അയച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു എഴുതിയിരുന്നു.

⁷യിസ്രായേൽരാജാവു എഴുത്തു വായിച്ചപ്പോൾ വസ്ത്രം കീറി: അവൻ ഇതാ, കുഷ്ഠരോഗം മാറ്റിക്കൊടുക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഒരാളെ എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ അയച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു! മരിപ്പിക്കയും ജീവിപ്പിക്കയും ചെയ്‍വാൻ ഞാൻ ദൈവമോ? നോക്കുവിൻ , അവൻ ഇതിനാൽ എന്നോടു ശണ്ഠെക്കു കാരണം അന്വേഷിക്കയല്ലയോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

⁸യിസ്രായേൽരാജാവു വസ്ത്രം കീറിക്കളഞ്ഞു എന്നു ദൈവപുരുഷനായ എലീശാ കേട്ടപ്പോൾ രാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ആളയച്ചു: നീ വസ്ത്രം കീറിക്കളഞ്ഞതു എന്തു? അവൻ എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വരട്ടെ; എന്നാൽ യിസ്രായേലിൽ ഒരു പ്രവാചകൻ ഉണ്ടു എന്നു അവൻ അറിയും എന്നു പറയിച്ചു.

⁹അങ്ങനെ നയമാൻ രഥത്തോടും കുതിരകളോടുംകൂടെ എലീശയുടെ വീട്ടുവാതിൽക്കൽ വന്നു നിന്നു.

¹⁰എലീശാ ആളയച്ചു: നീ ചെന്നു യോർദ്ദാനിൽ ഏഴു പ്രാവശ്യം കുളിക്ക; അപ്പോൾ നിന്റെ ദേഹം മുമ്പിലത്തെപ്പോലെയായി നീ ശുദ്ധനാകും എന്നു പറയിച്ചു.

¹¹അപ്പോൾ നയമാൻ ഏറ്റവും ക്രുദ്ധിച്ചു പുറപ്പെട്ടു: അവൻ തന്നേ പുറത്തുവന്നു അടുത്തുനിന്നു തന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ നാമത്തെ വിളിച്ചു പ്രാർത്ഥിച്ചു തന്റെ കൈ ആ സ്ഥലത്തിന്മീതെ ആട്ടി ഇങ്ങനെ കുഷ്ഠരോഗിയെ സൗഖ്യമാക്കും എന്നു ഞാൻ വിചാരിച്ചു.

¹²ദമ്മേശെക്കിലെ നദികളായ അബാനയും പർപ്പരും യിസ്രായേൽദേശത്തിലെ എല്ലാ വെള്ളങ്ങളെക്കാളും നല്ലതല്ലയോ? എനിക്കു അവയിൽ കുളിച്ചു ശുദ്ധനാകരുതോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവൻ ക്രോധത്തോടെ പോയി.

¹³എന്നാൽ അവന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാർ അടുത്തു വന്നു അവനോടു: പിതാവേ, പ്രവാചകൻ വലിയോരു കാര്യം നിന്നോടു കല്പിച്ചിരുന്നുവെങ്കിൽ നീ ചെയ്യാതെ ഇരിക്കുമോ? പിന്നെ അവൻ : കുളിച്ചു ശുദ്ധനാക എന്നു നിന്നോടു കല്പിച്ചാൽ എത്ര അധികം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

¹⁴അപ്പോൾ അവൻ ചെന്നു ദൈവപുരുഷന്റെ വചനപ്രകാരം യോർദ്ദാനിൽ ഏഴു പ്രാവശ്യം മുങ്ങി; അവന്റെ ദേഹം ചെറിയ ബാലന്റെ ദേഹം പോലെ ആയി; അവൻ ശുദ്ധനായ്തീർന്നു.

²Yahweh, be gracious to us. We have waited for you.

³At the noise of the thunder, the peoples have fled.

⁴Your plunder will be gathered as the caterpillar gathers.

⁵Yahweh is exalted, for he dwells on high.

⁶There will be stability in your times, abundance of salvation, wisdom, and knowledge.

⁷Behold, their valiant ones cry outside;

⁸The highways are desolate.

⁹The land mourns and languishes.

²യഹോവേ, ഞങ്ങളോടു കൃപയുണ്ടാകേണമേ; ഞങ്ങൾ നിന്നെ കാത്തിരിക്കുന്നു; രാവിലെതോറും നീ അവർക്കും ഭുജവും കഷ്ടകാലത്തു ഞങ്ങൾക്കു രക്ഷയും ആയിരിക്കേണമേ.

³കോലാഹലം ഹേതുവായി വംശങ്ങൾ ഔടിപ്പോയി; നീ എഴുന്നേറ്റപ്പോൾ ജാതികൾ ചിതറിപ്പോയി.

⁴നിങ്ങളുടെ കവർച്ച തുള്ളൻ ശേഖരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ ശേഖരിക്കപ്പെടും വെട്ടുക്കിളി ചാടി വീഴുന്നതുപോലെ അവർ അതിന്മേൽ ചാടിവീഴും.

⁵യഹോവ ഉന്നതനായിരിക്കുന്നു; ഉയരത്തിലല്ലോ അവൻ വസിക്കുന്നതു; അവൻ സീയോനെ ന്യായവും നീതിയുംകൊണ്ടു നിറെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

⁶നിന്റെ കാലത്തു സ്ഥിരതയും രക്ഷാസമൃദ്ധിയും ജ്ഞാനവും പരിജ്ഞാനവും ഉണ്ടാകും; യഹോവാഭക്തി അവരുടെ നിക്ഷേപം ആയിരിക്കും.

⁷ഇതാ അവരുടെ ശൌർയ്യവാന്മാർ പുറത്തു നിലവിളിക്കുന്നു; സമാധാനത്തിന്റെ ദൂതന്മാർ അതിദുഃഖത്തോടെ കരയുന്നു.

⁸പെരുവഴികൾ ശൂന്യമായ്ക്കിടക്കുന്നു; വഴി പോക്കർ ഇല്ലാതെയായിരിക്കുന്നു; അവൻ ഉടമ്പടി ലംഘിച്ചു, പട്ടണങ്ങളെ നിന്ദിച്ചു: ഒരു മനുഷ്യനെയും അവൻ ആദരിക്കുന്നില്ല.

⁹ദേശം ദുഃഖിച്ചു ക്ഷയിക്കുന്നു; ലെബാനോൻ ലജ്ജിച്ചു വാടിപ്പോകുന്നു; ശാരോൻ മരുഭൂമിപോലെ ആയിരിക്കുന്നു; ബാശാനും കർമ്മേലും ഇലപൊഴിക്കുന്നു.

²²But Saul increased more in strength, and confounded the Jews who lived at Damascus, proving that this is the Christ.

²³When many days were fulfilled, the Jews conspired together to kill him,

²⁴but their plot became known to Saul. They watched the gates both day and night that they might kill him,

²⁵but his disciples took him by night and let him down through the wall, lowering him in a basket.

²⁶When Saul had come to Jerusalem, he tried to join himself to the disciples; but they were all afraid of him, not believing that he was a disciple.

²⁷But Barnabas took him and brought him to the apostles, and declared to them how he had seen the Lord on the way, and that he had spoken to him, and how at Damascus he had preached boldly in the name of Jesus.

²⁸He was with them entering into Jerusalem,

²⁹preaching boldly in the name of the Lord Jesus. He spoke and disputed against the Hellenists, but they were seeking to kill him.

³⁰When the brothers knew it, they brought him down to Caesarea and sent him off to Tarsus.

³¹So the assemblies throughout all Judea, Galilee, and Samaria had peace and were built up. They were multiplied, walking in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit.

²²ശൗലോ മേൽക്കുമേൽ ശക്തിപ്രാപിച്ചു, യേശു തന്നേ ക്രിസ്തു എന്നു തെളിയിച്ചു ദമസ്കൊസിൽ പാർക്കുംന്ന യെഹൂദന്മാരെ മിണ്ടാതാക്കി.

²³കുറെനാൾ കഴിഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ യെഹൂദന്മാർ അവനെ കൊല്ലുവാൻ ആലോചിച്ചു.

²⁴ശൗൽ അവരുടെ കൂട്ടുകെട്ടു അറിഞ്ഞു; അവനെ കൊല്ലുവാൻ അവർ രാവും പകലും നഗര ഗോപുരങ്ങളിൽ കാവൽ വെച്ചു.

²⁵എന്നാൽ അവന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാർ രാത്രിയിൽ അവനെ ഒരു കൊട്ടയിലാക്കി മതിൽവഴിയായി ഇറക്കിവിട്ടു.

²⁶അവൻ യെരൂശലേമിൽ എത്തിയാറെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരോടു ചേരുവാൻ ശ്രമിച്ചു; എന്നാൽ അവൻ ഒരു ശിഷ്യൻ എന്നു വിശ്വസിക്കാതെ എല്ലാവരും അവനെ പേടിച്ചു.

²⁷ബർന്നബാസോ അവനെ കൂട്ടി അപ്പൊസ്തലന്മാരുടെ അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടു ചെന്നു; അവൻ വഴിയിൽ വെച്ചു കർത്താവിനെ കണ്ടതും കർത്താവു അവനോടു സംസാരിച്ചതും ദമസ്കൊസിൽ അവൻ യേശുവിന്റെ നാമത്തിൽ പ്രാഗത്ഭ്യത്തോടെ പ്രസംഗിച്ചതും എല്ലാം അവരോടു വിവരിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.

²⁸പിന്നെ അവൻ യെരൂശലേമിൽ അവരുമായി പെരുമാറുകയും കർത്താവിന്റെ നാമത്തിൽ പ്രാഗത്ഭ്യത്തോടെ പ്രസംഗിക്കയും ചെയ്തു പോന്നു.

²⁹യവനഭാഷക്കാരായ യെഹൂദന്മാരോടും അവൻ സംഭാഷിച്ചു തർക്കിച്ചു; അവരോ അവനെ കൊല്ലുവാൻ വട്ടംകൂട്ടി.

³⁰സഹോദരന്മാർ അതു അറിഞ്ഞു അവനെ കൈസര്യയിലേക്കു കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടുപോയി, അവിടെനിന്നു തർസൊസിലേക്കു അയച്ചു.

³¹അങ്ങനെ യെഹൂദ്യാ, ഗലീല, ശമര്യ എന്നീ ദേശങ്ങളിൽ ഒക്കെയും സഭെക്കു സമാധാനം ഉണ്ടായി, അതു ആത്മികവർദ്ധന പ്രാപിച്ചും കർത്താവിനോടുള്ള ഭക്തിയിലും പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവിന്റെ പ്രബോധനയിലും നടന്നും പെരുകിക്കൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

²⁷Where then is the boasting? It is excluded. By what kind of law? Of works? No, but by a law of faith.

²⁸We maintain therefore that a man is justified by faith apart from the works of the law.

²⁹Or is God the God of Jews only? Isn’t he the God of Gentiles also? Yes, of Gentiles also,

³⁰since indeed there is one God who will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through faith.

³¹Do we then nullify the law through faith? May it never be! No, we establish the law.

¹What then will we say that Abraham, our forefather, has found according to the flesh?

²For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but not toward God.

³For what does the Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.”

⁴Now to him who works, the reward is not counted as grace, but as something owed.

⁵But to him who doesn’t work, but believes in him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness.

²⁷ആകയാൽ പ്രശംസ എവിടെ? അതുപൊയ്പോയി. ഏതു മാർഗ്ഗത്താൽ? കർമ്മ മാർഗ്ഗത്താലോ? അല്ല, വിശ്വാസമാർഗ്ഗത്താലത്രേ.

²⁸അങ്ങനെ മനുഷ്യൻ ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തിക്കുടാതെ വിശ്വാസത്താൽ തന്നേ നീതീകരിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു എന്നു നാം അനുമാനിക്കുന്നു.

²⁹അല്ല, ദൈവം യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ ദൈവം മാത്രമോ? ജാതികളുടെയും ദൈവമല്ലയോ? അതേ ജാതികളുടെയും ദൈവം ആകുന്നു.

³⁰ദൈവം ഏകനല്ലോ; അവൻ വിശ്വാസംമൂലം പരിച്ഛേദനക്കാരെയും വിശ്വാസത്താൽ അഗ്രചർമ്മികളെയും നീതീകരിക്കുന്നു.

³¹ആകയാൽ നാം വിശ്വാസത്താൽ ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തെ ദുർബ്ബലമാക്കുന്നുവോ? ഒരു നാളും ഇല്ല; നാം ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തെ ഉറപ്പിക്കയത്രേ ചെയ്യുന്നു.

¹എന്നാൽ നമ്മുടെ പൂർവ്വപിതാവായ അബ്രാഹാം ജഡപ്രകാരം എന്തു പ്രാപിച്ചു എന്നു പറയേണ്ടു?

²അബ്രാഹാം പ്രവൃത്തിയാൽ നീതീകരിക്കപ്പെട്ടു എങ്കിൽ അവന്നു പ്രശംസിപ്പാൻ സംഗതി ഉണ്ടു; ദൈവസന്നിധിയിൽ ഇല്ലതാനും,

³തിരുവെഴുത്തു എന്തു പറയുന്നു? “അബ്രാഹാം ദൈവത്തെ വിശ്വസിച്ചു; അതു അവന്നു നീതിയായി കണക്കിട്ടു” എന്നു തന്നേ.

⁴എന്നാൽ പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നവന്നു കൂലി കണക്കിടുന്നതു കൃപയായിട്ടല്ല കടമായിട്ടത്രേ.

⁵പ്രവർത്തിക്കാത്തവൻ എങ്കിലും അഭക്തനെ നിതീകരിക്കുന്നവനിൽ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നവന്നോ അവന്റെ വിശ്വാസം നീതിയായി കണക്കിടുന്നു.
