¹After these things, there was a feast of the Jews, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.

²Now in Jerusalem by the sheep gate, there is a pool, which is called in Hebrew, “Bethesda”, having five porches.

³In these lay a great multitude of those who were sick, blind, lame, or paralyzed, waiting for the moving of the water;

⁴for an angel went down at certain times into the pool and stirred up the water. Whoever stepped in first after the stirring of the water was healed of whatever disease he had.

⁵A certain man was there who had been sick for thirty-eight years.

⁶When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he had been sick for a long time, he asked him, “Do you want to be made well?”

⁷The sick man answered him, “Sir, I have no one to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up, but while I’m coming, another steps down before me.”

⁸Jesus said to him, “Arise, take up your mat, and walk.”

⁹Immediately, the man was made well, and took up his mat and walked.

¹⁰So the Jews said to him who was cured, “It is the Sabbath. It is not lawful for you to carry the mat.”

¹¹He answered them, “He who made me well said to me, ‘Take up your mat and walk.’ ”

¹²Then they asked him, “Who is the man who said to you, ‘Take up your mat and walk’ ?”

¹³But he who was healed didn’t know who it was, for Jesus had withdrawn, a crowd being in the place.

¹⁴Afterward Jesus found him in the temple and said to him, “Behold, you are made well. Sin no more, so that nothing worse happens to you.”

¹⁵The man went away, and told the Jews that it was Jesus who had made him well.

¹⁶For this cause the Jews persecuted Jesus and sought to kill him, because he did these things on the Sabbath.

¹⁷But Jesus answered them, “My Father is still working, so I am working, too.”

¹⁸For this cause therefore the Jews sought all the more to kill him, because he not only broke the Sabbath, but also called God his own Father, making himself equal with God.

¹അതിന്റെ ശേഷം യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ ഒരു ഉത്സവം ഉണ്ടായിട്ടു യേശു യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കുപോയി.

⁵എന്നാൽ മുപ്പത്തെട്ടു ആണ്ടു രോഗം പിടിച്ചു കിടന്നോരു മനുഷ്യൻ അവിടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

⁶അവൻ കിടക്കുന്നതു യേശു കണ്ടു, ഇങ്ങനെ ഏറിയ കാലമായിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നറിഞ്ഞു: നിനക്കു സൌഖ്യമാകുവാൻ മനസ്സുണ്ടോ എന്നു അവനോടു ചോദിച്ചു.

⁷രോഗി അവനോടു: യജമാനനേ, വെള്ളം കലങ്ങുമ്പോൾ എന്നെ കുളത്തിൽ ആക്കുവാൻ എനിക്കു ആരും ഇല്ല; ഞാൻ തന്നേ ചെല്ലുമ്പോൾ മറ്റൊരുത്തൻ എനിക്കു മുമ്പായി ഇറങ്ങുന്നു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

⁸യേശു അവനോടു: എഴുന്നേറ്റു നിന്റെ കിടക്ക എടുത്തു നടക്ക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

⁹ഉടനെ ആ മനുഷ്യൻ സൌഖ്യമായി കിടക്ക എടുത്തു നടന്നു.

¹⁰എന്നാൽ അന്നു ശബ്ബത്ത് ആയിരുന്നു. ആകയാൽ യെഹൂദന്മാർ സൌഖ്യം പ്രാപിച്ചവനോടു: ഇന്നുശബ്ബത്ത് ആകുന്നു; കിടക്ക എടുക്കുന്നതു വിഹിതമല്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

¹¹അവൻ അവരോടു: എന്നെ സൌഖ്യമാക്കിയവൻ : കിടക്ക എടുത്ത നടക്ക എന്നു എന്നോടു പറഞ്ഞു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

¹²അവർ അവനോടു: കിടക്ക എടുത്തു നടക്ക എന്നു നിന്നോടു പറഞ്ഞ മനുഷ്യൻ ആർ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

¹³എന്നാൽ അവിടെ പുരുഷാരം ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കയാൽ യേശു മാറിക്കളഞ്ഞതുകൊണ്ടു അവൻ ആരെന്നു സൌഖ്യം പ്രാപിച്ചവൻ അറിഞ്ഞില്ല.

¹⁴അനന്തരം യേശു അവനെ ദൈവാലയത്തിൽവെച്ചു കണ്ടു അവനോടു: നോകൂ, നിനക്കു സൌഖ്യമായല്ലോ; അധികം തിന്മയായതു ഭവിക്കാതിരിപ്പാൻ ഇനി പാപം ചെയ്യരുതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

¹⁵ആ മനുഷ്യൻ പോയി തന്നെ സൌഖ്യമാക്കിയതു യേശു എന്നു യെഹൂദന്മാരോടു അറിയിച്ചു.

¹⁶യേശു ശബ്ബത്തിൽ അതു ചെയ്കകൊണ്ടു യെഹൂദന്മാർ അവനെ ഉപദ്രവിച്ചു.

¹⁷യേശു അവരോടു: എന്റെ പിതാവു ഇന്നുവരെയും പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നു; ഞാനും പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

¹⁸അങ്ങനെ അവൻ ശബ്ബത്തിനെ ലംഘിച്ചതുകൊണ്ടു മാത്രമല്ല, ദൈവം സ്വന്തപിതാവു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു തന്നെത്താൻ ദൈവത്തോടു സമമാക്കിയതുകൊണ്ടും യെഹൂദന്മാർ അവനെ കൊല്ലുവാൻ അധികമായി ശ്രമിച്ചു പോന്നു.

¹⁷On one of those days, he was teaching; and there were Pharisees and teachers of the law sitting by who had come out of every village of Galilee, Judea, and Jerusalem. The power of the Lord was with him to heal them.

¹⁸Behold, men brought a paralyzed man on a cot, and they sought to bring him in to lay before Jesus.

¹⁹Not finding a way to bring him in because of the multitude, they went up to the housetop and let him down through the tiles with his cot into the middle before Jesus.

²⁰Seeing their faith, he said to him, “Man, your sins are forgiven you.”

²¹The scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, “Who is this who speaks blasphemies? Who can forgive sins, but God alone?”

²²But Jesus, perceiving their thoughts, answered them, “Why are you reasoning so in your hearts?

²³Which is easier to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven you,’ or to say, ‘Arise and walk’?

²⁴But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins,” he said to the paralyzed man, “I tell you, arise, take up your cot, and go to your house.”

²⁵Immediately he rose up before them, and took up that which he was laying on, and departed to his house, glorifying God.

²⁶Amazement took hold on all, and they glorified God. They were filled with fear, saying, “We have seen strange things today.”

¹⁷അവൻ ഒരു ദിവസം ഉപദേശിക്കുമ്പോൾ ഗലീലയിലും യെഹൂദ്യയിലുമുള്ള സകലഗ്രാമത്തിൽനിന്നും യെരൂശലേമിൽനിന്നും വന്ന പരീശന്മാരും ന്യായശാസ്ത്രിമാരും അവിടെ ഇരുന്നിരുന്നു. സൌഖ്യമാക്കുവാൻ കർത്താവിന്റെ ശക്തി അവനോടുകൂടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

²⁰അവരുടെ വിശ്വാസം കണ്ടിട്ടു. അവൻ : മനുഷ്യാ, നിന്റെ പാപങ്ങൾ മോചിച്ചുതന്നിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

²¹ശാസ്ത്രിമാരും പരീശന്മാരും: ദൈവദൂഷണം പറയുന്ന ഇവൻ ആർ? ദൈവം ഒരുവൻ അല്ലാതെ പാപങ്ങളെ മോചിപ്പാൻ കഴിയുന്നവൻ ആർ എന്നു ചിന്തിച്ചുതുടങ്ങി.

²²യേശു അവരുടെ ചിന്തകളെ അറിഞ്ഞു അവരോടു: നിങ്ങൾ ഹൃദയത്തിൽ ചിന്തിക്കുന്നതു എന്തു?

²³നിന്റെ പാപങ്ങൾ മോചിച്ചുതന്നിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറയുന്നതോ എഴുന്നേറ്റു നടക്ക എന്നു പറയുന്നതോ ഏതാകുന്നു എളുപ്പം എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

²⁴എങ്കിലും ഭൂമിയിൽ പാപങ്ങളെ മോചിപ്പാൻ മനുഷ്യപുത്രന്നു അധികാരം ഉണ്ടു എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ അറിയേണ്ടതിന്നു - അവൻ പക്ഷവാതക്കാരനോടു: എഴുന്നേറ്റു കിടക്ക എടുത്തു വീട്ടിലേക്കു പോക എന്നു ഞാൻ നിന്നോടു പറയുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

²³Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,

²⁴“Son of man, those who inhabit the waste places in the land of Israel speak, saying, ‘Abraham was one, and he inherited the land; but we are many. The land is given us for inheritance.’

²⁵Therefore tell them, ‘The Lord Yahweh says: “You eat with the blood, and lift up your eyes to your idols, and shed blood. So should you possess the land?

²⁶You stand on your sword, you work abomination, and every one of you defiles his neighbor’s wife. So should you possess the land?” ’

²⁷“You shall tell them, ‘The Lord Yahweh says: “As I live, surely those who are in the waste places will fall by the sword. I will give whoever is in the open field to the animals to be devoured, and those who are in the strongholds and in the caves will die of the pestilence.

²⁸I will make the land a desolation and an astonishment. The pride of her power will cease. The mountains of Israel will be desolate, so that no one will pass through.

²⁹Then they will know that I am Yahweh, when I have made the land a desolation and an astonishment because of all their abominations which they have committed.” ’

³⁰“As for you, son of man, the children of your people talk about you by the walls and in the doors of the houses, and speak to one another, everyone to his brother, saying, ‘Please come and hear what the word is that comes out from Yahweh.’

³¹They come to you as the people come, and they sit before you as my people, and they hear your words, but don’t do them; for with their mouth they show much love, but their heart goes after their gain.

³²Behold, you are to them as a very lovely song of one who has a pleasant voice, and can play well on an instrument; for they hear your words, but they don’t do them.

³³“When this comes to pass—behold, it comes—then they will know that a prophet has been among them.”

¹Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,

²“Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel. Prophesy, and tell them, even the shepherds, ‘The Lord Yahweh says: “Woe to the shepherds of Israel who feed themselves! Shouldn’t the shepherds feed the sheep?

³You eat the fat. You clothe yourself with the wool. You kill the fatlings, but you don’t feed the sheep.

⁴You haven’t strengthened the diseased. You haven’t healed that which was sick. You haven’t bound up that which was broken. You haven’t brought back that which was driven away. You haven’t sought that which was lost, but you have ruled over them with force and with rigor.

⁵They were scattered, because there was no shepherd. They became food to all the animals of the field, and were scattered.

⁶My sheep wandered through all the mountains and on every high hill. Yes, my sheep were scattered on all the surface of the earth. There was no one who searched or sought.”

⁷“ ‘Therefore, you shepherds, hear Yahweh’s word:

⁸“As I live,” says the Lord Yahweh, “surely because my sheep became a prey, and my sheep became food to all the animals of the field, because there was no shepherd, and my shepherds didn’t search for my sheep, but the shepherds fed themselves, and didn’t feed my sheep,

⁹therefore, you shepherds, hear Yahweh’s word!”

¹⁰The Lord Yahweh says: “Behold, I am against the shepherds. I will require my sheep at their hand, and cause them to cease from feeding the sheep. The shepherds won’t feed themselves any more. I will deliver my sheep from their mouth, that they may not be food for them.”

¹¹“ ‘For the Lord Yahweh says: “Behold, I myself, even I, will search for my sheep, and will seek them out.

¹²As a shepherd seeks out his flock in the day that he is among his sheep that are scattered abroad, so I will seek out my sheep. I will deliver them out of all places where they have been scattered in the cloudy and dark day.

²³യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു എനിക്കുണ്ടായതെന്തെന്നാൽ: മനുഷ്യപുത്രാ,

²⁴യിസ്രായേൽദേശത്തിലെ ശൂന്യസ്ഥലങ്ങളിൽ പാർക്കുംന്നവർ: അബ്രഹാം ഏകനായിരിക്കെ അവന്നു ദേശം അവകാശമായി ലഭിച്ചു; ഞങ്ങളോ പലരാകുന്നു; ഈ ദേശം ഞങ്ങൾക്കു അവകാശമായി ലഭിക്കും എന്നു പറയുന്നു.

²⁶നിങ്ങൾ ദേശത്തെ കൈവശമാക്കുമോ? നിങ്ങൾ നിങ്ങളുടെ വാളിൽ ആശ്രയിക്കയും മ്ളേച്ഛത പ്രവർത്തിക്കയും ഔരോരുത്തനും തന്റെ കൂട്ടുകാരന്റെ ഭാര്യയെ വഷളാക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു; നിങ്ങൾ ദേശത്തെ കൈവശമാക്കുമോ?

²⁸ഞാൻ ദേശത്തെ പാഴും ശൂന്യവും ആക്കും; അതിന്റെ ബലത്തിന്റെ പ്രതാപം നിന്നുപോകും; യിസ്രായേൽപർവ്വതങ്ങൾ ആരും വഴിപോകാതവണ്ണം ശൂന്യമായിത്തീരും.

²⁹അവർ ചെയ്ത സകല മ്ളേച്ഛതകളും നിമിത്തം ഞാൻ ദേശത്തെ പാഴും ശൂന്യവുമാക്കുമ്പോൾ ഞാൻ യഹോവ എന്നു അവർ അറിയും.

³⁰മനുഷ്യപുത്രാ, നിന്റെ സ്വജാതിക്കാർ മതിലുകൾക്കരികത്തും വീട്ടുവാതിൽക്കലുംവെച്ചു നിന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു സംഭാഷിച്ചു: യഹോവയിങ്കൽനിന്നുണ്ടായ അരുളപ്പാടു എന്തെന്നു വന്നു കേൾപ്പിൻ എന്നു തമ്മിൽതമ്മിലും ഔരോരുത്തൻ താന്താന്റെ സഹോദരനോടും പറയുന്നു.

³നിങ്ങൾ മേദസ്സു തിന്നുകയും ആട്ടുരോമം ഉടുക്കയും തടിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നവയെ അറുക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നു; ആടുകളെ നിങ്ങൾ മേയിക്കുന്നില്ലതാനും.

⁴നിങ്ങൾ ബലഹീനമായതിനെ ശക്തീകരിക്കയോ ദീനം പിടിച്ചതിനെ ചികിത്സിക്കയോ ഒടിഞ്ഞതിനെ മുറിവുകെട്ടുകയോ ചിതറിപ്പോയതിനെ തിരിച്ചുവരുത്തുകയോ കാണാതെപോയതിനെ അന്വേഷിക്കയോ ചെയ്യാതെ കഠിനതയോടും ക്രൂരതയോടും കൂടെ അവയെ ഭരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

⁵ഇടയൻ ഇല്ലായ്കകൊണ്ടു അവ ചിതറിപ്പോയി; ചിതറിപ്പോയിട്ടു അവ കാട്ടിലെ സകലമൃഗങ്ങൾക്കും ഇരയായിത്തീർന്നു.

⁶എന്റെ ആടുകൾ എല്ലാമലകളിലും ഉയരമുള്ള എല്ലാകുന്നിന്മേലും ഉഴന്നുനടന്നു; ഭൂതലത്തിൽ ഒക്കെയും എന്റെ ആടുകൾ ചിതറിപ്പോയി; ആരും അവയെ തിരകയോ അന്വേഷിക്കയോ ചെയ്തിട്ടില്ല.

⁷അതുകൊണ്ടു ഇടയന്മാരേ, യഹോവയുടെ വചനം കേൾപ്പിൻ ;

⁸എന്നാണ ഇടയനില്ലായ്കകൊണ്ടത്രേ എന്റെ ആടുകൾ കവർച്ചയായിപ്പോകയും എന്റെ ആടുകൾ കാട്ടിലെ സകലമൃഗത്തിന്നും ഇരയായിത്തീരുകയും ചെയ്തതു എന്നു യഹോവയായ കർത്താവിന്റെ അരുളപ്പാടു; എന്റെ ഇടയന്മാർ എന്റെ ആടുകളെ അന്വേഷിക്കാതെ തങ്ങളെത്തന്നേ മേയിക്കയും ആടുകളെ മേയിക്കാതെയിരിക്കയും ചെയ്ക കൊണ്ടു,

⁹ഇടയന്മാരേ, യഹോവയുടെ വചനം കേൾപ്പിൻ :

¹⁰യഹോവയായ കർത്താവു ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: ഞാൻ ഇടയന്മാർക്കും വിരോധമായിരിക്കുന്നു; ഞാൻ എന്റെ ആടുകളെ അവരുടെ കയ്യിൽനിന്നു ചോദിച്ചു, ആടുകളെ മേയിക്കുന്ന വേലയിൽനിന്നു അവരെ നീക്കിക്കളയും; ഇടയന്മാർ ഇനി തങ്ങളെത്തന്നേ മേയിക്കയില്ല; എന്റെ ആടുകൾ അവർക്കും ഇരയാകാതെയിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാൻ അവയെ അവരുടെ വായിൽ നിന്നു വിടുവിക്കും.

¹¹യഹോവയായ കർത്താവു ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: ഞാൻ തന്നേ എന്റെ ആടുകളെ തിരഞ്ഞുനോക്കും.

¹⁰Moses said to Yahweh, “O Lord, I am not eloquent, neither before now, nor since you have spoken to your servant; for I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue.”

¹¹Yahweh said to him, “Who made man’s mouth? Or who makes one mute, or deaf, or seeing, or blind? Isn’t it I, Yahweh?

¹²Now therefore go, and I will be with your mouth, and teach you what you shall speak.”

¹³Moses said, “Oh, Lord, please send someone else.”

¹⁴Yahweh’s anger burned against Moses, and he said, “What about Aaron, your brother, the Levite? I know that he can speak well. Also, behold, he is coming out to meet you. When he sees you, he will be glad in his heart.

¹⁵You shall speak to him, and put the words in his mouth. I will be with your mouth, and with his mouth, and will teach you what you shall do.

¹⁶He will be your spokesman to the people. It will happen that he will be to you a mouth, and you will be to him as God.

¹⁷You shall take this rod in your hand, with which you shall do the signs.”

¹⁰മോശെ യഹോവയോടു: കർത്താവേ, മുമ്പേ തന്നെയും നീ അടിയനോടു സംസാരിച്ചശേഷവും ഞാൻ വാക്സാമർത്ഥ്യമുള്ളവനല്ല; ഞാൻ വിക്കനും തടിച്ചനാവുള്ളവനും ആകുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

¹When Yahweh was about to take Elijah up by a whirlwind into heaven, Elijah went with Elisha from Gilgal.

²Elijah said to Elisha, “Please wait here, for Yahweh has sent me as far as Bethel.”

³The sons of the prophets who were at Bethel came out to Elisha, and said to him, “Do you know that Yahweh will take away your master from over you today?”

⁴Elijah said to him, “Elisha, please wait here, for Yahweh has sent me to Jericho.”

⁵The sons of the prophets who were at Jericho came near to Elisha, and said to him, “Do you know that Yahweh will take away your master from over you today?”

⁶Elijah said to him, “Please wait here, for Yahweh has sent me to the Jordan.”

⁷Fifty men of the sons of the prophets went and stood opposite them at a distance; and they both stood by the Jordan.

⁸Elijah took his mantle, and rolled it up, and struck the waters; and they were divided here and there, so that they both went over on dry ground.

⁹When they had gone over, Elijah said to Elisha, “Ask what I shall do for you, before I am taken from you.”

¹⁰He said, “You have asked a hard thing. If you see me when I am taken from you, it will be so for you; but if not, it will not be so.”

¹¹As they continued on and talked, behold, a chariot of fire and horses of fire separated them; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.

²⁰Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil;

²¹Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes,

²²Woe to those who are mighty to drink wine,

²³who acquit the guilty for a bribe,

²⁴Therefore as the tongue of fire devours the stubble,

²⁵Therefore Yahweh’s anger burns against his people,

²⁰തിന്മെക്കു നന്മ എന്നും നന്മെക്കു തിന്മ എന്നും പേർ പറകയും ഇരുട്ടിനെ വെളിച്ചവും വെളിച്ചത്തെ ഇരുട്ടും ആക്കുകയും കൈപ്പിനെ മധുരവും മധുരത്തെ കൈപ്പും ആക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നവർക്കും അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം!

²¹തങ്ങൾക്കുതന്നേ ജ്ഞാനികളായും തങ്ങൾക്കു തന്നേ വിവേകികളായും തോന്നുന്നവർക്കും അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം!

²²വീഞ്ഞു കുടിപ്പാൻ വീരന്മാരും മദ്യം കലർത്തുവാൻ ശൂരന്മാരും ആയുള്ളവർക്കും

²³സമ്മാനംനിമിത്തം ദുഷ്ടനെ നീതീകരിക്കയും നീതിമാന്റെ നീതിയെ ഇല്ലാതാക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നവർക്കും അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം!

²⁴അതുകൊണ്ടു തീനാവു താളടിയെ തിന്നുകളകയും വൈക്കോൽ ജ്വാലയാൽ ദഹിച്ചുപോകയും ചെയ്യുന്നതുപോലെ അവരുടെ വേരു കെട്ടുപോകും; അവരുടെ പുഷ്പം പൊടിപോലെ പറന്നു പോകും; അവർ സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയുടെ ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചു, യിസ്രായേലിൻ പരിശുദ്ധന്റെ വചനത്തെ നിന്ദിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.

²⁵അതുനിമിത്തം യഹോവയുടെ കോപം തന്റെ ജനത്തിന്റെ നേരെ ജ്വലിക്കും; അവൻ അവരുടെ നേരെ കൈ നീട്ടി അവരെ ദണ്ഡിപ്പിക്കും; അപ്പോൾ മലകൾ വിറെക്കയും അവരുടെ ശവങ്ങൾ വീഥികളുടെ നടുവിൽ ചവറുപോലെ ആയിത്തീരുകയും ചെയ്യും; ഇതെല്ലാംകൊണ്ടും അവന്റെ കോപം അടങ്ങാതെ അവന്റെ കൈ ഇനിയും നീട്ടിയിരിക്കും.

¹Being therefore justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ;

²through whom we also have our access by faith into this grace in which we stand. We rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

³Not only this, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces perseverance;

⁴and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope;

⁵and hope doesn’t disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

⁶For while we were yet weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly.

⁷For one will hardly die for a righteous man. Yet perhaps for a good person someone would even dare to die.

⁸But God commends his own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

⁹Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we will be saved from God’s wrath through him.

¹⁰For if while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we will be saved by his life.

¹¹Not only so, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.

¹When he entered again into Capernaum after some days, it was heard that he was at home.

²Immediately many were gathered together, so that there was no more room, not even around the door; and he spoke the word to them.

³Four people came, carrying a paralytic to him.

⁴When they could not come near to him for the crowd, they removed the roof where he was. When they had broken it up, they let down the mat that the paralytic was lying on.

⁵Jesus, seeing their faith, said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven you.”

⁶But there were some of the scribes sitting there and reasoning in their hearts,

⁷“Why does this man speak blasphemies like that? Who can forgive sins but God alone?”

⁸Immediately Jesus, perceiving in his spirit that they so reasoned within themselves, said to them, “Why do you reason these things in your hearts?

⁹Which is easier, to tell the paralytic, ‘Your sins are forgiven;’ or to say, ‘Arise, and take up your bed, and walk’?

¹⁰But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins” —he said to the paralytic—

¹¹“I tell you, arise, take up your mat, and go to your house.”

¹²He arose, and immediately took up the mat and went out in front of them all, so that they were all amazed and glorified God, saying, “We never saw anything like this!”

¹ചില ദിവസം കഴിഞ്ഞശേഷം അവൻ പിന്നെയും കഫർന്നഹൂമിൽ ചെന്നു; അവൻ വീട്ടിൽ ഉണ്ടെന്നു ശ്രുതിയായി.
