¹After he had finished speaking in the hearing of the people, he entered into Capernaum.

²A certain centurion’s servant, who was dear to him, was sick and at the point of death.

³When he heard about Jesus, he sent to him elders of the Jews, asking him to come and save his servant.

⁴When they came to Jesus, they begged him earnestly, saying, “He is worthy for you to do this for him,

⁵for he loves our nation, and he built our synagogue for us.”

⁶Jesus went with them. When he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying to him, “Lord, don’t trouble yourself, for I am not worthy for you to come under my roof.

⁷Therefore I didn’t even think myself worthy to come to you; but say the word, and my servant will be healed.

⁸For I also am a man placed under authority, having under myself soldiers. I tell this one, ‘Go!’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come!’ and he comes; and to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.”

⁹When Jesus heard these things, he marveled at him, and turned and said to the multitude who followed him, “I tell you, I have not found such great faith, no, not in Israel.”

¹⁰Those who were sent, returning to the house, found that the servant who had been sick was well.

¹ജനം കേൾക്കെ തന്റെ വചനം ഒക്കെയും പറഞ്ഞുതീർന്ന ശേഷം അവൻ കഫർന്നഹൂമിൽ ചെന്നു.

²⁴From there he arose and went away into the borders of Tyre and Sidon. He entered into a house and didn’t want anyone to know it, but he couldn’t escape notice.

²⁵For a woman whose little daughter had an unclean spirit, having heard of him, came and fell down at his feet.

²⁶Now the woman was a Greek, a Syrophoenician by race. She begged him that he would cast the demon out of her daughter.

²⁷But Jesus said to her, “Let the children be filled first, for it is not appropriate to take the children’s bread and throw it to the dogs.”

²⁸But she answered him, “Yes, Lord. Yet even the dogs under the table eat the children’s crumbs.”

²⁹He said to her, “For this saying, go your way. The demon has gone out of your daughter.”

³⁰She went away to her house, and found the child having been laid on the bed, with the demon gone out.

³¹Again he departed from the borders of Tyre and Sidon, and came to the sea of Galilee through the middle of the region of Decapolis.

³²They brought to him one who was deaf and had an impediment in his speech. They begged him to lay his hand on him.

³³He took him aside from the multitude privately and put his fingers into his ears; and he spat and touched his tongue.

³⁴Looking up to heaven, he sighed, and said to him, “Ephphatha!” that is, “Be opened!”

³⁵Immediately his ears were opened, and the impediment of his tongue was released, and he spoke clearly.

³⁶He commanded them that they should tell no one, but the more he commanded them, so much the more widely they proclaimed it.

³⁷They were astonished beyond measure, saying, “He has done all things well. He makes even the deaf hear and the mute speak!”

²⁴അവൻ അവിടെ നിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടു സീദോന്റെയും സോരിന്റെയും അതിർനാട്ടിൽ ചെന്നു ഒരു വീട്ടിൽ കടന്നു; ആരും അറിയരുതു എന്നു ഇച്ഛിച്ചു എങ്കിലും മറഞ്ഞിരിപ്പാൻ സാധിച്ചില്ല.

¹⁰As Samuel was offering up the burnt offering, the Philistines came near to battle against Israel; but Yahweh thundered with a great thunder on that day on the Philistines and confused them; and they were struck down before Israel.

¹¹The men of Israel went out of Mizpah and pursued the Philistines, and struck them until they came under Beth Kar.

¹²Then Samuel took a stone and set it between Mizpah and Shen, and called its name Ebenezer, saying, “Yahweh helped us until now.”

¹³So the Philistines were subdued, and they stopped coming within the border of Israel. Yahweh’s hand was against the Philistines all the days of Samuel.

¹⁴The cities which the Philistines had taken from Israel were restored to Israel, from Ekron even to Gath; and Israel recovered its border out of the hand of the Philistines. There was peace between Israel and the Amorites.

¹⁵Samuel judged Israel all the days of his life.

¹⁶He went from year to year in a circuit to Bethel, Gilgal, and Mizpah; and he judged Israel in all those places.

¹⁷His return was to Ramah, for his house was there, and he judged Israel there; and he built an altar to Yahweh there.

¹Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,

²“Speak to the children of Israel, and take rods from them, one for each fathers’ house, of all their princes according to their fathers’ houses, twelve rods. Write each man’s name on his rod.

³You shall write Aaron’s name on Levi’s rod. There shall be one rod for each head of their fathers’ houses.

⁴You shall lay them up in the Tent of Meeting before the covenant, where I meet with you.

⁵It shall happen that the rod of the man whom I shall choose shall bud. I will make the murmurings of the children of Israel, which they murmur against you, cease from me.”

⁶Moses spoke to the children of Israel; and all their princes gave him rods, for each prince one, according to their fathers’ houses, a total of twelve rods. Aaron’s rod was among their rods.

⁷Moses laid up the rods before Yahweh in the Tent of the Testimony.

⁸On the next day, Moses went into the Tent of the Testimony; and behold, Aaron’s rod for the house of Levi had sprouted, budded, produced blossoms, and bore ripe almonds.

¹യഹോവ പിന്നെയും മോശെയോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു:

²യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളോടു സംസാരിച്ചു അവരുടെ പക്കൽനിന്നു ഗോത്രം ഗോത്രമായി സകലഗോത്രപ്രഭുക്കന്മാരോടും ഔരോ വടിവീതം പന്ത്രണ്ടു വടി വാങ്ങി ഔരോരുത്തന്റെ വടിമേൽ അവന്റെ പേർ എഴുതുക.

⁸പിറ്റെന്നാൾ മോശെ സാക്ഷ്യകൂടാരത്തിൽ കടന്നപ്പോൾ ലേവിഗൃഹത്തിന്നുള്ള അഹരോന്റെ വടി തളിർത്തിരിക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു; അതു തളിർത്തു പൂത്തു ബദാം ഫലം കായിച്ചിരുന്നു.

¹Yahweh says:

²Blessed is the man who does this,

³Let no foreigner who has joined himself to Yahweh speak, saying,

⁴For Yahweh says, “To the eunuchs who keep my Sabbaths,

⁵I will give them in my house and within my walls a memorial and a name better than of sons and of daughters.

⁶Also the foreigners who join themselves to Yahweh

⁷I will bring these to my holy mountain,

¹യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: എന്റെ രക്ഷ വരുവാനും എന്റെ നീതി വെളിപ്പെടുവാനും അടുത്തിരിക്കയാൽ ൻ യായം പ്രമാണിച്ചു നീതി പ്രവർ‍ത്തിപ്പിൻ ‍

³യഹോവയോടു ചേർ‍ന്നിട്ടുള്ള അൻ യജാതിക്കാരൻ ‍; യഹോവ എന്നെ തന്റെ ജനത്തിൽ നിന്നു അശേഷം വേർ‍പെടുത്തും എന്നു പറയരുതു; ഷണ്ഡനും: ഞാൻ ഒരു ഉണങ്ങിയ വൃക്ഷം എന്നു പറയരുതു

⁴എന്റെ ശബ്ബത്തു ആചരിക്കയും എനിക്കു ഇഷ്ടമുള്ളതു തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കയും എന്റെ നിയമം പ്രമാണിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്ന ഷണ്ഡന്മാരോടു യഹോവയായ ഞാൻ ഇപ്രകാരം പറയുന്നു:

⁵ഞാൻ അവർ‍കൂ എന്റെ ആലയത്തിലും എന്റെ മതിലകങ്ങളിലും പുത്രീപുത്രന്മാരെക്കാൾ വിശേഷമായോരു ജ്ഞാപകവും നാമവും കൊടുക്കും; ഛേദിക്കപ്പെടാത്ത ഒരു ശാശ്വതനാമം തന്നേ ഞാൻ അവർ‍കൂ കൊടുക്കും

⁷ഞാൻ എന്റെ വിശുദ്ധപർ‍വ്വതത്തിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുവന്നു, എന്റെ പ്രാർ‍ത്ഥനാലയത്തിൽ അവരെ സന്തോഷിപ്പിക്കും; അവരുടെ ഹോമയാഗങ്ങളും ഹനനയാഗങ്ങളും എന്റെ യാഗപീഠത്തിന്മേൽ പ്രസാദകരമായിരിക്കും; എന്റെ ആലയം സകലജാതികൾക്കും ഉള്ള പ്രാർ‍ത്ഥനാലയം എന്നു വിളിക്കപ്പെടും

¹As they spoke to the people, the priests and the captain of the temple and the Sadducees came to them,

²being upset because they taught the people and proclaimed in Jesus the resurrection from the dead.

³They laid hands on them, and put them in custody until the next day, for it was now evening.

⁴But many of those who heard the word believed, and the number of the men came to be about five thousand.

⁵In the morning, their rulers, elders, and scribes were gathered together in Jerusalem.

⁶Annas the high priest was there, with Caiaphas, John, Alexander, and as many as were relatives of the high priest.

⁷When they had stood Peter and John in the middle of them, they inquired, “By what power, or in what name, have you done this?”

⁸Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, “You rulers of the people and elders of Israel,

⁹if we are examined today concerning a good deed done to a crippled man, by what means this man has been healed,

¹⁰may it be known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, this man stands here before you whole in him.

¹¹He is ‘the stone which was regarded as worthless by you, the builders, which has become the head of the corner.’

¹²There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!”

⁵പിറ്റെന്നാൾ അവരുടെ പ്രമാണികളും മൂപ്പന്മാരും ശാസ്ത്രിമാരും യെരൂശലേമിൽ ഒന്നിച്ചുകൂടി;

⁶മഹാപുരോഹിതനായ ഹന്നാവും കയ്യഫാവും യോഹന്നാനും അലെക്സന്തരും മഹാപുരോഹിതവംശത്തിലുള്ളവർ ഒക്കെയും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

⁷ഇവർ അവരെ നടുവിൽ നിറുത്തി: ഏതു ശക്തികൊണ്ടോ ഏതു നാമത്തിലോ നിങ്ങൾ ഇതു ചെയ്തു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

¹⁰ദൈവം മരിച്ചവരിൽ നിന്നു ഉയിർപ്പിച്ചവനുമായി നസറായനായ യേശുക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ നാമത്തിൽ തന്നേ ഇവൻ സൗഖ്യമുള്ളവനായി നിങ്ങളുടെ മുമ്പിൽ നിലക്കുന്നു എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ എല്ലാവരും യിസ്രായേൽ ജനം ഒക്കെയും അറിഞ്ഞുകൊൾവിൻ .

¹¹വീടുപണിയുന്നവരായ നിങ്ങൾ തള്ളിക്കളഞ്ഞിട്ടു കോണിന്റെ മൂലക്കല്ലായിത്തീർന്ന കല്ലു ഇവൻ തന്നേ.

¹²മറ്റൊരുത്തനിലും രക്ഷ ഇല്ല; നാം രക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടുവാൻ ആകാശത്തിൻ കീഴിൽ മനുഷ്യരുടെ ഇടയിൽ നല്കപ്പെട്ട വേറൊരു നാമവും ഇല്ല.

¹⁴For we know that the law is spiritual, but I am fleshly, sold under sin.

¹⁵For I don’t understand what I am doing. For I don’t practice what I desire to do; but what I hate, that I do.

¹⁶But if what I don’t desire, that I do, I consent to the law that it is good.

¹⁷So now it is no more I that do it, but sin which dwells in me.

¹⁸For I know that in me, that is, in my flesh, dwells no good thing. For desire is present with me, but I don’t find it doing that which is good.

¹⁹For the good which I desire, I don’t do; but the evil which I don’t desire, that I practice.

²⁰But if what I don’t desire, that I do, it is no more I that do it, but sin which dwells in me.

²¹I find then the law that, while I desire to do good, evil is present.

²²For I delight in God’s law after the inward person,

²³but I see a different law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity under the law of sin which is in my members.

²⁴What a wretched man I am! Who will deliver me out of the body of this death?

²⁵I thank God through Jesus Christ, our Lord! So then with the mind, I myself serve God’s law, but with the flesh, sin’s law.

¹⁴ന്യായപ്രമാണം ആത്മികം എന്നു നാം അറിയുന്നുവല്ലോ; ഞാനോ ജഡമയൻ , പാപത്തിന്നു ദാസനായി വിൽക്കപ്പെട്ടവൻ തന്നേ.

¹⁵ഞാൻ പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നതു ഞാൻ അറിയുന്നില്ല; ഞാൻ ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നതിനെ അല്ല പകെക്കുന്നതിനെ അത്രേ ചെയ്യുന്നതു.

¹⁶ഞാൻ ഇച്ഛിക്കാത്തതിനെ ചെയ്യുന്നു എങ്കിലോ ന്യായപ്രമാണം നല്ലതു എന്നു ഞാൻ സമ്മതിക്കുന്നു.

¹⁷ആകയാൽ അതിനെ പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നതു ഞാനല്ല എന്നിൽ വസിക്കുന്ന പാപമത്രേ.

¹⁸എന്നിൽ എന്നുവെച്ചാൽ എന്റെ ജഡത്തിൽ നന്മ വസിക്കുന്നില്ല എന്നു ഞാൻ അറിയുന്നു; നന്മ ചെയ്‍വാനുള്ള താല്പര്യം എനിക്കുണ്ടു; പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നതോ ഇല്ല.

¹⁹ഞാൻ ചെയ്‍വാൻ ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്ന നന്മ ചെയ്യുന്നില്ലല്ലോ; ഇച്ഛിക്കാത്ത തിന്മയത്രേ പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നതു.

²⁰ഞാൻ ഇച്ഛിക്കാത്തതിനെ ചെയ്യുന്നു എങ്കിലോ അതിനെ പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നതു ഞാനല്ല എന്നിൽ വസിക്കുന്ന പാപമത്രേ.

²¹അങ്ങനെ നന്മ ചെയ്‍വാൻ ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്ന ഞാൻ തിന്മ എന്റെ പക്കൽ ഉണ്ടു എന്നൊരു പ്രമാണം കാണുന്നു.

²²ഉള്ളംകൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിൽ രസിക്കുന്നു.

²³എങ്കിലും എന്റെ ബുദ്ധിയുടെ പ്രമാണത്തോടു പോരാടുന്ന വേറൊരു പ്രമാണം ഞാൻ എന്റെ അവയവങ്ങളിൽ കാണുന്നു; അതു എന്റെ അവയവങ്ങളിലുള്ള പാപപ്രമാണത്തിന്നു എന്നെ ബദ്ധനാക്കിക്കളയുന്നു.

²⁴അയ്യോ, ഞാൻ അരിഷ്ടമനുഷ്യൻ ! ഈ മരണത്തിന്നു അധീനമായ ശരീരത്തിൽനിന്നു എന്നെ ആർ വിടുവിക്കും?

²⁵നമ്മുടെ കർത്താവായ യേശുക്രിസ്തുമുഖാന്തരം ഞാൻ ദൈവത്തിന്നു സ്തോത്രം ചെയ്യുന്നു. ഇങ്ങനെ ഞാൻ തന്നേ ബുദ്ധികൊണ്ടു ദൈവത്തിന്റെ പ്രമാണത്തെയും ജഡംകൊണ്ടു പാപത്തിന്റെ പ്രമാണത്തെയും സേവിക്കുന്നു.

²¹Jesus went out from there and withdrew into the region of Tyre and Sidon.

²²Behold, a Canaanite woman came out from those borders and cried, saying, “Have mercy on me, Lord, you son of David! My daughter is severely possessed by a demon!”

²³But he answered her not a word.

²⁴But he answered, “I wasn’t sent to anyone but the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”

²⁵But she came and worshiped him, saying, “Lord, help me.”

²⁶But he answered, “It is not appropriate to take the children’s bread and throw it to the dogs.”

²⁷But she said, “Yes, Lord, but even the dogs eat the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.”

²⁸Then Jesus answered her, “Woman, great is your faith! Be it done to you even as you desire.” And her daughter was healed from that hour.

²¹യേശു അവിടം വിട്ടു, സോർ സീദോൻ എന്ന പ്രദേശങ്ങളിലേക്കു വാങ്ങിപ്പോയി.

²²ആ ദേശത്തുനിന്നു ഒരു കനാന്യ സ്ത്രീ വന്നു, അവനോടു: കർത്താവേ, ദാവീദ് പുത്രാ, എന്നോടു കരുണ തോന്നേണമേ; എന്റെ മകൾക്കു ഭൂതോപദ്രവം കഠിനമായിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു നിലവിളിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.

²³അവൻ അവളോടു ഒരു വാക്കും ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞില്ല; അവന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാർ അടുക്കെ, വന്നു: അവൾ നമ്മുടെ പിന്നാലെ നിലവിളിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു വരുന്നു; അവളെ പറഞ്ഞയക്കേണമേ എന്നു അവനോടു അപേക്ഷിച്ചു.

²⁴അതിന്നു അവൻ : “യിസ്രായേൽ ഗൃഹത്തിലെ കാണാതെപോയ ആടുകളുടെ അടുക്കലേക്കല്ലാതെ എന്നെ അയച്ചിട്ടില്ല” എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

²⁵എന്നാൽ അവൾ വന്നു: കർത്താവേ, എന്നെ സഹായിക്കേണമേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവനെ നമസ്കരിച്ചു.

²⁶അവനോ: “മക്കളുടെ അപ്പം എടുത്തു നായകൂട്ടികൾക്കു ഇട്ടുകൊടുക്കുന്നതു നന്നല്ല” എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

²⁷അതിന്നു അവൾ: അതേ, കർത്താവേ, നായക്കുട്ടികളും ഉടയവരുടെ മേശയിൽ നിന്നു വീഴുന്ന നുറുക്കുകൾ തിന്നുന്നുണ്ടല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

²⁸യേശു അവളോടു: “സ്ത്രീയേ, നിന്റെ വിശ്വാസം വലിയതു; നിന്റെ ഇഷ്ടംപോലെ നിനക്കു ഭവിക്കട്ടെ” എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു. ആ നാഴികമുതൽ അവളുടെ മകൾക്കു സൌഖ്യം വന്നു.
