¹¹Soon afterwards, he went to a city called Nain. Many of his disciples, along with a great multitude, went with him.

¹²Now when he came near to the gate of the city, behold, one who was dead was carried out, the only born son of his mother, and she was a widow. Many people of the city were with her.

¹³When the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her and said to her, “Don’t cry.”

¹⁴He came near and touched the coffin, and the bearers stood still. He said, “Young man, I tell you, arise!”

¹⁵He who was dead sat up and began to speak. Then he gave him to his mother.

¹⁶Fear took hold of all, and they glorified God, saying, “A great prophet has arisen among us!” and, “God has visited his people!”

¹⁷This report went out concerning him in the whole of Judea and in all the surrounding region.

¹¹പിറ്റെന്നാൾ അവൻ നയിൻ എന്ന പട്ടണത്തിലേക്കു പോകുമ്പോൾ അവന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരും വളരെ പുരുഷാരവും കൂടെ പോയി.

²⁵Behold, a certain lawyer stood up and tested him, saying, “Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?”

²⁶He said to him, “What is written in the law? How do you read it?”

²⁷He answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.”

²⁸He said to him, “You have answered correctly. Do this, and you will live.”

²⁹But he, desiring to justify himself, asked Jesus, “Who is my neighbor?”

³⁰Jesus answered, “A certain man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and he fell among robbers, who both stripped him and beat him, and departed, leaving him half dead.

³¹By chance a certain priest was going down that way. When he saw him, he passed by on the other side.

³²In the same way a Levite also, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side.

³³But a certain Samaritan, as he traveled, came where he was. When he saw him, he was moved with compassion,

³⁴came to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. He set him on his own animal, brought him to an inn, and took care of him.

³⁵On the next day, when he departed, he took out two denarii, gave them to the host, and said to him, ‘Take care of him. Whatever you spend beyond that, I will repay you when I return.’

³⁶Now which of these three do you think seemed to be a neighbor to him who fell among the robbers?”

³⁷He said, “He who showed mercy on him.”

²⁵അനന്തരം ഒരു ന്യായശാസ്ത്രി എഴുന്നേറ്റു: ഗുരോ, ഞാൻ നിത്യജീവന്നു അവകാശി ആയിത്തീരുവാൻ എന്തു ചെയ്യേണം എന്നു അവനെ പരീക്ഷിച്ചു ചോദിച്ചു.

³²അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ ഒരു ലേവ്യനും ആ സ്ഥലത്തിൽ എത്തി അവനെ കണ്ടിട്ടു മാറി കടന്നുപോയി.

³³ഒരു ശമര്യക്കാരനോ വഴിപോകയിൽ അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ എത്തി അവനെ കണ്ടിട്ടു മനസ്സലിഞ്ഞു അരികെ ചെന്നു

³⁴എണ്ണയും വീഞ്ഞും പകർന്നു അവന്റെ മുറിവുകളെ കെട്ടി അവനെ തന്റെ വാഹനത്തിൽ കയറ്റി വഴിയമ്പലത്തിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോയി രക്ഷചെയ്തു.

¹God blessed Noah and his sons, and said to them, “Be fruitful, multiply, and replenish the earth.

²The fear of you and the dread of you will be on every animal of the earth, and on every bird of the sky. Everything that moves along the ground, and all the fish of the sea, are delivered into your hand.

³Every moving thing that lives will be food for you. As I gave you the green herb, I have given everything to you.

⁴But flesh with its life, that is, its blood, you shall not eat.

⁵I will surely require accounting for your life’s blood. At the hand of every animal I will require it. At the hand of man, even at the hand of every man’s brother, I will require the life of man.

⁶Whoever sheds man’s blood, his blood will be shed by man, for God made man in his own image.

⁷Be fruitful and multiply. Increase abundantly in the earth, and multiply in it.”

¹ദൈവം നോഹയെയും അവൻറെ പുത്രന്മാരെയും അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു അവരോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതെന്തന്നാൽ: നിങ്ങൾ സന്താനപുഷ്ടിയുള്ളവരായി പെരുകി ഭൂമിയിൽ നിറവിൻ.

¹Yahweh says:

²I will send to Babylon strangers, who will winnow her.

³Against him who bends, let the archer bend his bow,

⁴They will fall down slain in the land of the Chaldeans,

⁵For Israel is not forsaken, nor Judah, by his God,

⁶“Flee out of the middle of Babylon!

⁷Babylon has been a golden cup in Yahweh’s hand,

⁸Babylon has suddenly fallen and been destroyed!

⁹“We would have healed Babylon,

²Why, when I came, was there no one?

³I clothe the heavens with blackness.

⁴The Lord Yahweh has given me the tongue of those who are taught,

⁵The Lord Yahweh has opened my ear.

⁸Finally, all of you be like-minded, compassionate, loving as brothers, tenderhearted, courteous,

⁹not rendering evil for evil or insult for insult; but instead blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing.

¹⁰For,

¹¹Let him turn away from evil and do good.

¹²For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous,

¹³Now who will harm you if you become imitators of that which is good?

¹⁴But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you are blessed. “Don’t fear what they fear, neither be troubled.”

¹⁵But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts. Always be ready to give an answer to everyone who asks you a reason concerning the hope that is in you, with humility and fear,

¹⁶having a good conscience. Thus, while you are spoken against as evildoers, they may be disappointed who curse your good way of life in Christ.

⁸തീർച്ചെക്കു എല്ലാവരും ഐകമത്യവും സഹതാപവും സഹോദരപ്രീതിയും മനസ്സലിവും വിനയബുദ്ധിയുമുള്ളവരായിരിപ്പിൻ .

¹Therefore I urge you, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service.

²Don’t be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God.

³For I say through the grace that was given me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of yourself more highly than you ought to think; but to think reasonably, as God has apportioned to each person a measure of faith.

⁴For even as we have many members in one body, and all the members don’t have the same function,

⁵so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another,

⁶having gifts differing according to the grace that was given to us: if prophecy, let’s prophesy according to the proportion of our faith;

⁷or service, let’s give ourselves to service; or he who teaches, to his teaching;

⁸or he who exhorts, to his exhorting; he who gives, let him do it with generosity; he who rules, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.

⁹Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor that which is evil. Cling to that which is good.

¹⁰In love of the brothers be tenderly affectionate to one another; in honor prefer one another,

¹¹not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord,

¹²rejoicing in hope, enduring in troubles, continuing steadfastly in prayer,

¹³contributing to the needs of the saints, and given to hospitality.

¹⁴Bless those who persecute you; bless, and don’t curse.

¹⁵Rejoice with those who rejoice. Weep with those who weep.

³ഭാവിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു മീതെ ഭാവിച്ചുയരാതെ ദൈവം അവനവന്നു വിശ്വാസത്തിന്റെ അളവു പങ്കിട്ടതുപോലെ സുബോധമാകുംവണ്ണം ഭാവിക്കേണമെന്നു ഞാൻ എനിക്കു ലഭിച്ച കൃപയാൽ നിങ്ങളിൽ ഔരോരുത്തനോടും പറയുന്നു.

⁴ഒരു ശരീരത്തിൽ നമുക്കു പല അവയവങ്ങൾ ഉണ്ടല്ലോ; എല്ലാ അവയവങ്ങൾക്കും പ്രവൃത്തി ഒന്നല്ലതാനും;

⁵അതുപോലെ പലരായ നാം ക്രിസ്തുവിൽ ഒരു ശരീരവും എല്ലാവരും തമ്മിൽ അവയവങ്ങളും ആകുന്നു.

⁶ആകയാൽ നമുക്കു ലഭിച്ച കൃപെക്കു ഒത്തവണ്ണം വെവ്വേറെ വരം ഉള്ളതുകൊണ്ടു പ്രവചനം എങ്കിൽ വിശ്വാസത്തിന്നു ഒത്തവണ്ണം,

⁷ശുശ്രൂഷ എങ്കിൽ ശുശ്രൂഷയിൽ, ഉപദേശിക്കുന്നവൻ എങ്കിൽ ഉപദേശത്തിൽ, പ്രബോധിപ്പിക്കുന്നവൻ എങ്കിൽ

⁸പ്രബോധനത്തിൽ, ദാനം ചെയ്യുവൻ ഏകാഗ്രതയോടെ, ഭരിക്കുന്നവൻ ഉത്സാഹത്തോടെ, കരുണചെയ്യുന്നവൻ പ്രസന്നതയോടെ ആകട്ടെ.

⁹സ്നേഹം നിർവ്യാജം ആയിരിക്കട്ടെ: തീയതിനെ വെറുത്തു നല്ലതിനോടു പറ്റിക്കൊൾവിൻ .

¹⁰സഹോദരപ്രീതിയിൽ തമ്മിൽ സ്ഥായിപൂണ്ടു ബഹുമാനിക്കുന്നതിൽ അന്യോന്യം മുന്നിട്ടു കൊൾവിൻ .

¹¹ഉത്സാഹത്തിൽ മടുപ്പില്ലാതെ ആത്മാവിൽ എരിവുള്ളവരായി കർത്താവിനെ സേവിപ്പിൻ .

¹²ആശയിൽ സന്തോഷിപ്പിൻ ;

¹³കഷ്ടതയിൽ സഹിഷ്ണുത കാണിപ്പിൻ ; പ്രാർത്ഥനയിൽ ഉറ്റിരിപ്പിൻ ; വിശുദ്ധന്മാരുടെ ആവശ്യങ്ങളിൽ കൂട്ടായ്മ കാണിക്കയും അതിഥിസൽക്കാരം ആചരിക്കയും ചെയ്‍വിൻ .

¹⁴നിങ്ങളെ ഉപദ്രവിക്കുന്നവരെ അനുഗ്രഹിപ്പിൻ ; ശപിക്കാതെ അനുഗ്രഹിപ്പിൻ .

¹⁵സന്തോഷിക്കുന്നവരോടുകൂടെ സന്തോഷിക്കയും കരയുന്നവരോടുകൂടെ കരകയും ചെയ്‍വിൻ .

¹⁰He was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath day.

¹¹Behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years. She was bent over and could in no way straighten herself up.

¹²When Jesus saw her, he called her and said to her, “Woman, you are freed from your infirmity.”

¹³He laid his hands on her, and immediately she stood up straight and glorified God.

¹⁴The ruler of the synagogue, being indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, said to the multitude, “There are six days in which men ought to work. Therefore come on those days and be healed, and not on the Sabbath day!”

¹⁵Therefore the Lord answered him, “You hypocrites! Doesn’t each one of you free his ox or his donkey from the stall on the Sabbath and lead him away to water?

¹⁶Ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham whom Satan had bound eighteen long years, be freed from this bondage on the Sabbath day?”

¹⁷As he said these things, all his adversaries were disappointed; and all the multitude rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by him.

¹⁰ഒരു ശബ്ബത്തിൽ അവൻ ഒരു പള്ളിയിൽ ഉപദേശിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു;

¹¹അവിടെ പതിനെട്ടു സംവത്സരമായി ഒരു രോഗാത്മാവു ബാധിച്ചിട്ടു ഒട്ടും നിവിരുവാൻ കഴിയാതെ കൂനിയായോരു സ്ത്രീ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

¹²യേശു അവളെ കണ്ടു അടുക്കെ വിളിച്ചു: സ്ത്രിയേ, നിന്റെ രോഗബന്ധനം അഴിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവളുടെ മേൽ കൈവെച്ചു.

¹³അവൾ ക്ഷണത്തിൽ നിവിർന്നു ദൈവത്തെ മഹത്വപ്പെടുത്തി.

¹⁴യേശു ശബ്ബത്തിൽ സൌഖ്യമാക്കിയതു കൊണ്ടു പള്ളി പ്രമാണി നീരസപ്പെട്ടു പുരുഷാരത്തോടു: വേല ചെയ്‍വാൻ ആറുദിവസമുണ്ടല്ലോ; അതിന്നകം വന്നു സൌഖ്യം വരുത്തിച്ചുകൊൾവിൻ ; ശബ്ബത്തിൽ അരുതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

¹⁵കർത്താവു അവനോടു: കപടഭക്തിക്കാരേ, നിങ്ങളിൽ ഔരോരുത്തൻ ശബ്ബത്തിൽ തന്റെ കാളയെയോ കഴുതയെയോ തൊട്ടിയിൽ നിന്നു അഴിച്ചു കൊണ്ടുപോയി വെള്ളം കുടിപ്പിക്കുന്നില്ലയോ? എന്നാൽ സാത്താൻ പതിനെട്ടു സംവത്സരമായി ബന്ധിച്ചിരുന്ന അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെ മകളായ ഇവളെ ശബ്ബത്തുനാളിൽ ഈ ബന്ധനം അഴിച്ചു വിടേണ്ടതല്ലയോ എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

¹⁷അവൻ ഇതു പറഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ അവന്റെ വിരോധികൾ എല്ലാവരും നാണിച്ചു; അവനാൽ നടക്കുന്ന സകല മഹിമകളാലും പുരുഷാരം ഒക്കെയും സന്തോഷിച്ചു.
