¹Now the feast of unleavened bread, which is called the Passover, was approaching.

²The chief priests and the scribes sought how they might put him to death, for they feared the people.

³Satan entered into Judas, who was also called Iscariot, who was counted with the twelve.

⁴He went away and talked with the chief priests and captains about how he might deliver him to them.

⁵They were glad, and agreed to give him money.

⁶He consented and sought an opportunity to deliver him to them in the absence of the multitude.

⁷The day of unleavened bread came, on which the Passover must be sacrificed.

⁸Jesus sent Peter and John, saying, “Go and prepare the Passover for us, that we may eat.”

⁹They said to him, “Where do you want us to prepare?”

¹⁰He said to them, “Behold, when you have entered into the city, a man carrying a pitcher of water will meet you. Follow him into the house which he enters.

¹¹Tell the master of the house, ‘The Teacher says to you, “Where is the guest room, where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?” ’

¹²He will show you a large, furnished upper room. Make preparations there.”

¹³They went, found things as Jesus had told them, and they prepared the Passover.

¹പെസഹ എന്ന പുളിപ്പില്ലാത്ത അപ്പത്തിന്റെ പെരുനാൾ അടുത്തു.

¹Yahweh spoke to Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying,

²“This month shall be to you the beginning of months. It shall be the first month of the year to you.

³Speak to all the congregation of Israel, saying, ‘On the tenth day of this month, they shall take to them every man a lamb, according to their fathers’ houses, a lamb for a household;

⁴and if the household is too little for a lamb, then he and his neighbor next to his house shall take one according to the number of the souls. You shall make your count for the lamb according to what everyone can eat.

⁵Your lamb shall be without defect, a male a year old. You shall take it from the sheep or from the goats.

⁶You shall keep it until the fourteenth day of the same month; and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it at evening.

⁷They shall take some of the blood, and put it on the two door posts and on the lintel, on the houses in which they shall eat it.

⁸They shall eat the meat in that night, roasted with fire, with unleavened bread. They shall eat it with bitter herbs.

⁹Don’t eat it raw, nor boiled at all with water, but roasted with fire; with its head, its legs and its inner parts.

¹⁰You shall let nothing of it remain until the morning; but that which remains of it until the morning you shall burn with fire.

¹¹This is how you shall eat it: with your belt on your waist, your sandals on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and you shall eat it in haste: it is Yahweh’s Passover.

¹യഹോവ മോശെയോടും അഹരോനോടും മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തുവെച്ചു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു എന്തെന്നാൽ:

²ഈ മാസം നിങ്ങൾക്കു മാസങ്ങളുടെ ആരംഭമായി ആണ്ടിൽ ഒന്നാം മാസം ആയിരിക്കേണം.

³“Aaron shall come into the sanctuary with a young bull for a sin offering, and a ram for a burnt offering.

⁴He shall put on the holy linen tunic. He shall have the linen trousers on his body, and shall put on the linen sash, and he shall be clothed with the linen turban. They are the holy garments. He shall bathe his body in water, and put them on.

⁵He shall take from the congregation of the children of Israel two male goats for a sin offering, and one ram for a burnt offering.

⁶“Aaron shall offer the bull of the sin offering, which is for himself, and make atonement for himself and for his house.

⁷He shall take the two goats, and set them before Yahweh at the door of the Tent of Meeting.

⁸Aaron shall cast lots for the two goats: one lot for Yahweh, and the other lot for the scapegoat.

⁹Aaron shall present the goat on which the lot fell for Yahweh, and offer him for a sin offering.

¹⁰But the goat on which the lot fell for the scapegoat shall be presented alive before Yahweh, to make atonement for him, to send him away as the scapegoat into the wilderness.

³പാപയാഗത്തിന്നു ഒരു കാളക്കിടാവിനോടും ഹോമയാഗത്തിന്നു ഒരു ആട്ടുകൊറ്റനോടും കൂടെ അഹരോൻ വിശുദ്ധമന്ദിരത്തിൽ കടക്കേണം.

⁴അവൻ പഞ്ഞിനൂൽകൊണ്ടുള്ള വിശുദ്ധമായ അങ്കി ധരിച്ചു ദേഹത്തിൽ പഞ്ഞിനൂൽകൊണ്ടുള്ള കാൽചട്ട ഇട്ടു പഞ്ഞിനൂൽകൊണ്ടുള്ള നടുക്കെട്ടു കെട്ടി പഞ്ഞിനൂൽകൊണ്ടുള്ള മുടിയും വെക്കേണം; ഇവ വിശുദ്ധവസ്ത്രം ആകയാൽ അവൻ ദേഹം വെള്ളത്തിൽ കഴുകീട്ടു അവയെ ധരിക്കേണം.

⁵അവൻ യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളുടെ സഭയുടെ പക്കൽനിന്നു പാപയാഗത്തിന്നു രണ്ടു കോലാട്ടുകൊറ്റനെയും ഹോമയാഗത്തിന്നു ഒരു ആട്ടുകൊറ്റനെയും വാങ്ങേണം.

⁶തനിക്കുവേണ്ടിയുള്ള പാപയാഗത്തിന്റെ കാളയെ അഹരോൻ അർപ്പിച്ചു തനിക്കും കുടുംബത്തിന്നും വേണ്ടി പ്രായശ്ചിത്തം കഴിക്കേണം.

⁷അവൻ ആ രണ്ടു കോലാട്ടുകൊറ്റനെ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു സമാഗമനക്കുടാരത്തിന്റെ വാതിൽക്കൽ യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയിൽ നിർത്തേണം.

⁸പിന്നെ അഹരോൻ യഹോവേക്കു എന്നു ഒരു ചീട്ടും അസസ്സേലിന്നു എന്നു മറ്റൊരു ചീട്ടും ഇങ്ങനെ രണ്ടു കോലാട്ടുകൊറ്റനും ചീട്ടിടേണം.

⁹യഹോവേക്കുള്ള ചീട്ടു വീണ കോലാട്ടുകൊറ്റനെ അഹരോൻ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു പാപയാഗമായി അർപ്പിക്കേണം.

¹⁰അസസ്സേലിന്നു ചീട്ടു വീണ കോലാട്ടുകൊറ്റനെയോ, അതിനാൽ പ്രായശ്ചിത്തം കഴിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും അതിനെ അസസ്സേലിന്നു മരുഭൂമിയിലേക്കു വിട്ടയക്കേണ്ടതിന്നുമായി യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയിൽ ജീവനോടെ നിർത്തേണം.

¹⁸“ ‘The Lord Yahweh says: “In the first month, on the first day of the month, you shall take a young bull without defect, and you shall cleanse the sanctuary.

¹⁹The priest shall take of the blood of the sin offering and put it on the door posts of the house, and on the four corners of the ledge of the altar, and on the posts of the gate of the inner court.

²⁰So you shall do on the seventh day of the month for everyone who errs, and for him who is simple. So you shall make atonement for the house.

²¹“ ‘ “In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month, you shall have the Passover, a feast of seven days; unleavened bread shall be eaten.

²²On that day the prince shall prepare for himself and for all the people of the land a bull for a sin offering.

²³The seven days of the feast he shall prepare a burnt offering to Yahweh, seven bulls and seven rams without defect daily the seven days; and a male goat daily for a sin offering.

²⁴He shall prepare a meal offering, an ephah for a bull, an ephah for a ram, and a hin of oil to an ephah.

²⁵“ ‘ “In the seventh month, on the fifteenth day of the month, during the feast, he shall do like that for seven days. He shall make the same provision for sin offering, the burnt offering, the meal offering, and the oil.”

¹⁸യഹോവയായ കർത്താവു ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: ഒന്നാം മാസം ഒന്നാം തിയ്യതി നീ ഊനമില്ലാത്ത ഒരു കാളകൂട്ടിയെ എടുത്തു വിശുദ്ധമന്ദിരത്തിന്നു പാപപരിഹാരം വരുത്തേണം.

²⁰അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ നീ ഏഴാം മാസം ഒന്നാം തിയ്യതിയും അബദ്ധത്താലും ബുദ്ധിഹീനതയാലും പിഴെച്ചു പോയവന്നു വേണ്ടി ചെയ്യേണം; ഇങ്ങനെ നിങ്ങൾ ആലയത്തിന്നു പ്രായശ്ചിത്തം വരുത്തേണം.

²¹ഒന്നാം മാസം പതിന്നാലാം തിയ്യതിമുതൽ നിങ്ങൾ ഏഴു ദിവസത്തേക്കു പെസഹപെരുനാൾ ആചരിച്ചു പുളിപ്പില്ലാത്ത അപ്പം തിന്നേണം.

²²അന്നു പ്രഭു തനിക്കു വേണ്ടിയും ദേശത്തിലെ സകലജനത്തിന്നു വേണ്ടിയും പാപയാഗമായി ഒരു കാളയെ അർപ്പിക്കേണം.

²³ഉത്സവത്തിന്റെ ഏഴു ദിവസവും അവൻ യഹോവേക്കു ഹോമയാഗമായി ഊനമില്ലാത്ത ഏഴു കാളയെയും ഏഴു ആട്ടുകൊറ്റനെയും ആ ഏഴു ദിവസവും ദിനംപ്രതി അർപ്പിക്കേണം; പാപയാഗമായി ദിനംപ്രതി ഔരോ കോലാട്ടിൻ കുട്ടിയെയും അർപ്പിക്കേണം.

²⁴കാള ഒന്നിന്നു ഒരു ഏഫയും ആട്ടുകൊറ്റൻ ഒന്നിന്നു ഒരു ഏഫയും ഏഫ ഒന്നിന്നു ഒരു ഹീൻ എണ്ണയും വീതം അവൻ ഭോജനയാഗം അർപ്പിക്കേണം.

¹⁵In these days, Peter stood up in the middle of the disciples (and the number of names was about one hundred twenty), and said,

¹⁶“Brothers, it was necessary that this Scripture should be fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit spoke before by the mouth of David concerning Judas, who was guide to those who took Jesus.

¹⁷For he was counted with us, and received his portion in this ministry.

¹⁸Now this man obtained a field with the reward for his wickedness; and falling headlong, his body burst open and all his intestines gushed out.

¹⁹It became known to everyone who lived in Jerusalem that in their language that field was called ‘Akeldama,’ that is, ‘The field of blood.’

²⁰For it is written in the book of Psalms,

¹⁵ആ കാലത്തു ഏകദേശം നൂറ്റിരുപതു പേരുള്ള ഒരു സംഘം കൂടിയിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ പത്രൊസ് സഹോദരന്മാരുടെ നടുവിൽ എഴുന്നേറ്റുനിന്നു പറഞ്ഞതു:

¹⁸അവൻ അനീതിയുടെ കൂലികൊണ്ടു ഒരു നിലം മേടിച്ചു തലകീഴായി വീണു നടുവെ പിളർന്നു അവന്റെ കുടലെല്ലാം തുറിച്ചുപോയി.

¹⁹അതു യെരൂശലേമിൽ പാർക്കുംന്ന എല്ലാവരും അറിഞ്ഞതാകകൊണ്ടു ആ നിലത്തിന്നു അവരുടെ ഭാഷയിൽ രക്തനിലം എന്നർത്ഥമുള്ള അക്കൽദാമാ എന്നു പേർ ആയി.

²⁰സങ്കീർത്തനപുസ്തകത്തിൽ: “അവന്റെ വാസസ്ഥലം ശുന്യമായിപ്പോകട്ടെ; അതിൽ ആരും പാർക്കാതിരിക്കട്ടെ” എന്നും “അവന്റെ അദ്ധ്യക്ഷസ്ഥാനം മാറ്റൊരുത്തന്നു ലഭിക്കട്ടെ” എന്നും എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

¹⁴When the hour had come, he sat down with the twelve apostles.

¹⁵He said to them, “I have earnestly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer,

¹⁶for I tell you, I will no longer by any means eat of it until it is fulfilled in God’s Kingdom.”

¹⁷He received a cup, and when he had given thanks, he said, “Take this and share it among yourselves,

¹⁸for I tell you, I will not drink at all again from the fruit of the vine, until God’s Kingdom comes.”

¹⁹He took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body which is given for you. Do this in memory of me.”

²⁰Likewise, he took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.

²¹But behold, the hand of him who betrays me is with me on the table.

²²The Son of Man indeed goes as it has been determined, but woe to that man through whom he is betrayed!”

²³They began to question among themselves which of them it was who would do this thing.

²⁴A dispute also arose among them, which of them was considered to be greatest.

²⁵He said to them, “The kings of the nations lord it over them, and those who have authority over them are called ‘benefactors.’

²⁶But not so with you. Rather, the one who is greater among you, let him become as the younger, and one who is governing, as one who serves.

²⁷For who is greater, one who sits at the table, or one who serves? Isn’t it he who sits at the table? But I am among you as one who serves.

²⁸“But you are those who have continued with me in my trials.

²⁹I confer on you a kingdom, even as my Father conferred on me,

³⁰that you may eat and drink at my table in my Kingdom. You will sit on thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.”

¹⁴സമയം ആയപ്പോൾ അവൻ അപ്പൊസ്തലന്മാരുമായി ഭക്ഷണത്തിന്നു ഇരുന്നു.

¹⁵അവൻ അവരോടു: ഞാൻ കഷ്ടം അനുഭവിക്കും മുമ്പെ ഈ പെസഹ നിങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ കഴിപ്പാൻ വാഞ്ഛയോടെ ആഗ്രഹിച്ചു.

¹⁶അതു ദൈവരാജ്യത്തിൽ നിവൃത്തിയാകുവോളം ഞാൻ ഇനി അതു കഴിക്കയില്ല എന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു എന്നുപറഞ്ഞു.

¹⁷പിന്നെ പാനപാത്രം എടുത്തു വാഴ്ത്തി: ഇതു വാങ്ങി പങ്കിട്ടുകൊൾവിൻ .

¹⁸ദൈവരാജ്യം വരുവോളം ഞാൻ മുന്തിരിവള്ളിയുടെ അനുഭവം ഇന്നു മുതൽ കുടിക്കില്ല എന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

²⁰അവ്വണ്ണം തന്നേ അത്താഴം കഴിഞ്ഞശേഷം അവൻ പാനപാത്രവും കൊടുത്തു: ഈ പാനപാത്രം നിങ്ങൾക്കു വേണ്ടി ചൊരിയുന്ന എന്റെ രക്തത്തിലെ പുതിയ നിയമം ആകുന്നു.

²¹എന്നാൽ എന്നെ കാണിച്ചുകൊടുക്കുന്നവന്റെ കൈ എന്റെ അരികെ മേശപ്പുറത്തു ഉണ്ടു.

²²നിർണ്ണയിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ മനുഷ്യപുത്രൻ പോകുന്നു സത്യം; എങ്കിലും അവനെ കാണിച്ചു കൊടുക്കുന്ന മനുഷ്യന്നു അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം! എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

²³ഇതു ചെയ്‍വാൻ പോകുന്നവൻ തങ്ങളുടെ കൂട്ടത്തിൽ ആർ ആയിരിക്കും എന്നു അവർ തമ്മിൽ തമ്മിൽ ചോദിച്ചു തുടങ്ങി.

²⁴തങ്ങളുടെ കൂട്ടത്തിൽ ആരെ ആകുന്നു വലിയവനായി എണ്ണേണ്ടതു എന്നതിനെച്ചൊല്ലി ഒരു തർക്കവും അവരുടെ ഇടയിൽ ഉണ്ടായി.

¹When Jesus had finished all these words, he said to his disciples,

²“You know that after two days the Passover is coming, and the Son of Man will be delivered up to be crucified.”

³Then the chief priests, the scribes, and the elders of the people were gathered together in the court of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas.

⁴They took counsel together that they might take Jesus by deceit and kill him.

⁵But they said, “Not during the feast, lest a riot occur among the people.”

⁶Now when Jesus was in Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper,

⁷a woman came to him having an alabaster jar of very expensive ointment, and she poured it on his head as he sat at the table.

⁸But when his disciples saw this, they were indignant, saying, “Why this waste?

⁹For this ointment might have been sold for much and given to the poor.”

¹⁰However, knowing this, Jesus said to them, “Why do you trouble the woman? She has done a good work for me.

¹¹For you always have the poor with you, but you don’t always have me.

¹²For in pouring this ointment on my body, she did it to prepare me for burial.

¹³Most certainly I tell you, wherever this Good News is preached in the whole world, what this woman has done will also be spoken of as a memorial of her.”

¹⁴Then one of the twelve, who was called Judas Iscariot, went to the chief priests

¹⁵and said, “What are you willing to give me if I deliver him to you?” So they weighed out for him thirty pieces of silver.

¹⁶From that time he sought opportunity to betray him.

¹⁷Now on the first day of unleavened bread, the disciples came to Jesus, saying to him, “Where do you want us to prepare for you to eat the Passover?”

¹⁸He said, “Go into the city to a certain person, and tell him, ‘The Teacher says, “My time is at hand. I will keep the Passover at your house with my disciples.” ’ ”

¹⁹The disciples did as Jesus commanded them, and they prepared the Passover.

²⁰Now when evening had come, he was reclining at the table with the twelve disciples.

²¹As they were eating, he said, “Most certainly I tell you that one of you will betray me.”

²²They were exceedingly sorrowful, and each began to ask him, “It isn’t me, is it, Lord?”

²³He answered, “He who dipped his hand with me in the dish will betray me.

²⁴The Son of Man goes even as it is written of him, but woe to that man through whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would be better for that man if he had not been born.”

²⁵Judas, who betrayed him, answered, “It isn’t me, is it, Rabbi?”

²⁶As they were eating, Jesus took bread, gave thanks for it, and broke it. He gave to the disciples and said, “Take, eat; this is my body.”

²⁷He took the cup, gave thanks, and gave to them, saying, “All of you drink it,

²⁸for this is my blood of the new covenant, which is poured out for many for the remission of sins.

²⁹But I tell you that I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on, until that day when I drink it anew with you in my Father’s Kingdom.”

³⁰When they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.

⁴¹The Jews therefore murmured concerning him, because he said, “I am the bread which came down out of heaven.”

⁴²They said, “Isn’t this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How then does he say, ‘I have come down out of heaven’?”

⁴³Therefore Jesus answered them, “Don’t murmur among yourselves.

⁴⁴No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him; and I will raise him up in the last day.

⁴⁵It is written in the prophets, ‘They will all be taught by God.’ Therefore everyone who hears from the Father and has learned, comes to me.

⁴⁶Not that anyone has seen the Father, except he who is from God. He has seen the Father.

⁴⁷Most certainly, I tell you, he who believes in me has eternal life.

⁴⁸I am the bread of life.

⁴⁹Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness and they died.

⁵⁰This is the bread which comes down out of heaven, that anyone may eat of it and not die.

⁵¹I am the living bread which came down out of heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. Yes, the bread which I will give for the life of the world is my flesh.”

⁵²The Jews therefore contended with one another, saying, “How can this man give us his flesh to eat?”

⁵³Jesus therefore said to them, “Most certainly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you don’t have life in yourselves.

⁵⁴He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.

⁵⁵For my flesh is food indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.

⁵⁶He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood lives in me, and I in him.

⁵⁷As the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father, so he who feeds on me will also live because of me.

⁵⁸This is the bread which came down out of heaven—not as our fathers ate the manna and died. He who eats this bread will live forever.”

⁵⁹He said these things in the synagogue, as he taught in Capernaum.

⁶⁰Therefore many of his disciples, when they heard this, said, “This is a hard saying! Who can listen to it?”

⁶¹But Jesus knowing in himself that his disciples murmured at this, said to them, “Does this cause you to stumble?

⁶²Then what if you would see the Son of Man ascending to where he was before?

⁶³It is the spirit who gives life. The flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and are life.

²¹Therefore, these came to Philip, who was from Bethsaida of Galilee, and asked him, saying, “Sir, we want to see Jesus.”

²²Philip came and told Andrew, and in turn, Andrew came with Philip, and they told Jesus.

²³Jesus answered them, “The time has come for the Son of Man to be glorified.

²⁴Most certainly I tell you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains by itself alone. But if it dies, it bears much fruit.

²⁵He who loves his life will lose it. He who hates his life in this world will keep it to eternal life.

²⁶If anyone serves me, let him follow me. Where I am, there my servant will also be. If anyone serves me, the Father will honor him.

²⁷“Now my soul is troubled. What shall I say? ‘Father, save me from this time’? But I came to this time for this cause.

²⁸Father, glorify your name!”

²⁹Therefore the multitude who stood by and heard it said that it had thundered. Others said, “An angel has spoken to him.”

³⁰Jesus answered, “This voice hasn’t come for my sake, but for your sakes.

³¹Now is the judgment of this world. Now the prince of this world will be cast out.

³²And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself.”

³³But he said this, signifying by what kind of death he should die.

³⁴The multitude answered him, “We have heard out of the law that the Christ remains forever. How do you say, ‘The Son of Man must be lifted up’ ? Who is this Son of Man?”

³⁵Jesus therefore said to them, “Yet a little while the light is with you. Walk while you have the light, that darkness doesn’t overtake you. He who walks in the darkness doesn’t know where he is going.

³⁶While you have the light, believe in the light, that you may become children of light.” Jesus said these things, and he departed and hid himself from them.

⁴⁰Jesus answered him, “Simon, I have something to tell you.”

⁴¹“A certain lender had two debtors. The one owed five hundred denarii, and the other fifty.

⁴²When they couldn’t pay, he forgave them both. Which of them therefore will love him most?”

⁴³Simon answered, “He, I suppose, to whom he forgave the most.”

⁴⁴Turning to the woman, he said to Simon, “Do you see this woman? I entered into your house, and you gave me no water for my feet, but she has wet my feet with her tears, and wiped them with the hair of her head.

⁴⁵You gave me no kiss, but she, since the time I came in, has not ceased to kiss my feet.

⁴⁶You didn’t anoint my head with oil, but she has anointed my feet with ointment.

⁴⁷Therefore I tell you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven, for she loved much. But one to whom little is forgiven, loves little.”

⁴⁸He said to her, “Your sins are forgiven.”

⁴⁹Those who sat at the table with him began to say to themselves, “Who is this who even forgives sins?”

⁵⁰He said to the woman, “Your faith has saved you. Go in peace.”

¹It was now two days before the Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread, and the chief priests and the scribes sought how they might seize him by deception and kill him.

²For they said, “Not during the feast, because there might be a riot among the people.”

³³But Peter answered him, “Even if all will be made to stumble because of you, I will never be made to stumble.”

³⁴Jesus said to him, “Most certainly I tell you that tonight, before the rooster crows, you will deny me three times.”

³⁵Peter said to him, “Even if I must die with you, I will not deny you.” All of the disciples also said likewise.

¹⁸“You shall keep the feast of unleavened bread. Seven days you shall eat unleavened bread, as I commanded you, at the time appointed in the month Abib; for in the month Abib you came out of Egypt.

¹⁹“All that opens the womb is mine; and all your livestock that is male, the firstborn of cow and sheep.

²⁰You shall redeem the firstborn of a donkey with a lamb. If you will not redeem it, then you shall break its neck. You shall redeem all the firstborn of your sons. No one shall appear before me empty.

²¹“Six days you shall work, but on the seventh day you shall rest: in plowing time and in harvest you shall rest.

²²“You shall observe the feast of weeks with the first fruits of wheat harvest, and the feast of harvest at the year’s end.

²³Three times in the year all your males shall appear before the Lord Yahweh, the God of Israel.

²⁴For I will drive out nations before you and enlarge your borders; neither shall any man desire your land when you go up to appear before Yahweh, your God, three times in the year.

²⁵“You shall not offer the blood of my sacrifice with leavened bread. The sacrifice of the feast of the Passover shall not be left to the morning.

²⁶“You shall bring the first of the first fruits of your ground to the house of Yahweh your God.

²¹The king commanded all the people, saying, “Keep the Passover to Yahweh your God, as it is written in this book of the covenant.”

²²Surely there was not kept such a Passover from the days of the judges who judged Israel, nor in all the days of the kings of Israel, nor of the kings of Judah;

²³but in the eighteenth year of King Josiah, this Passover was kept to Yahweh in Jerusalem.

²⁴Moreover, Josiah removed those who had familiar spirits, the wizards, and the teraphim, and the idols, and all the abominations that were seen in the land of Judah and in Jerusalem, that he might confirm the words of the law which were written in the book that Hilkiah the priest found in Yahweh’s house.

²⁵There was no king like him before him, who turned to Yahweh with all his heart, and with all his soul, and with all his might, according to all the law of Moses; and there was none like him who arose after him.

⁴The Lord Yahweh has given me the tongue of those who are taught,

⁵The Lord Yahweh has opened my ear.

⁶I gave my back to those who beat me,

⁷For the Lord Yahweh will help me.

⁸He who justifies me is near.

⁹Behold, the Lord Yahweh will help me!

¹⁰Who among you fears Yahweh

¹⁷For it is better, if it is God’s will, that you suffer for doing what is right than for doing evil.

¹⁸Because Christ also suffered for sins once, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring you to God, being put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the Spirit,

¹⁹in whom he also went and preached to the spirits in prison,

²⁰who before were disobedient when God waited patiently in the days of Noah while the ship was being built. In it, few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water.

²¹This is a symbol of baptism, which now saves you—not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God—through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,

²²who is at the right hand of God, having gone into heaven, angels and authorities and powers being made subject to him.

¹⁷നിങ്ങൾ കഷ്ടം സഹിക്കേണം എന്നു ദൈവഹിതമെങ്കിൽ തിന്മ ചെയ്തിട്ടല്ല, നന്മ ചെയ്തിട്ടു സഹിക്കുന്നതു ഏറ്റവും നന്നു.

¹⁸ക്രിസ്തുവും നമ്മെ ദൈവത്തോടു അടുപ്പിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നീതിമാനായി നീതികെട്ടവർക്കും വേണ്ടി പാപംനിമിത്തം ഒരിക്കൽ കഷ്ടം അനുഭവിച്ചു, ജഡത്തിൽ മരണശിക്ഷ ഏൽക്കയും ആത്മാവിൽ ജീവിപ്പിക്കപ്പെടുകയും ചെയ്തു.

²²അവൻ സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിലേക്കു പോയി ദൈവത്തിന്റെ വലത്തുഭാഗത്തു ഇരിക്കുന്നു. ദൂതന്മാരും അധികാരങ്ങളും ശക്തികളും അവന്നു കീഴ്പെട്ടുമിരിക്കുന്നു.

¹⁹Having therefore, brothers, boldness to enter into the holy place by the blood of Jesus,

²⁰by the way which he dedicated for us, a new and living way, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh,

²¹and having a great priest over God’s house,

²²let’s draw near with a true heart in fullness of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and having our body washed with pure water,

²³let’s hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering; for he who promised is faithful.

²⁴Let’s consider how to provoke one another to love and good works,

²⁵not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.

²⁶For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remains no more a sacrifice for sins,

²⁷but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and a fierceness of fire which will devour the adversaries.

²⁸A man who disregards Moses’ law dies without compassion on the word of two or three witnesses.

²⁹How much worse punishment do you think he will be judged worthy of who has trodden under foot the Son of God, and has counted the blood of the covenant with which he was sanctified an unholy thing, and has insulted the Spirit of grace?

²⁴ചിലർ ചെയ്യുന്നതുപോലെ നമ്മുടെ സഭായോഗങ്ങളെ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കാതെ തമ്മിൽ പ്രബോധിപ്പിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു സ്നേഹത്തിന്നും സൽപ്രവൃത്തികൾക്കും ഉത്സാഹം വർദ്ധിപ്പിപ്പാൻ അന്യോന്യം സൂക്ഷിച്ചുകൊൾക. നാൾ സമീപിക്കുന്നു എന്നു കാണുംതോറും അതു അധികമധികമായി ചെയ്യേണ്ടതാകുന്നു.

²⁸മോശെയുടെ ന്യായപ്രമാണം അനുസരിക്കാത്തവന്നു കരുണ കൂടാതെ രണ്ടു മൂന്നു സാക്ഷികളുടെ വാമൊഴികേട്ടു മരണശിക്ഷ കല്പിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.

²⁹ദൈവപുത്രനെ ചവിട്ടികളകയും തന്നെ വിശുദ്ധീകരിച്ച നിയമരക്തത്തെ മലിനം എന്നു നിരൂപിക്കയും കൃപയുടെ ആത്മാവിനെ നിന്ദിക്കയും ചെയ്തവൻ എത്ര കഠിനമേറിയ ശിക്ഷെക്കു പാത്രമാകും എന്നു വിചാരിപ്പിൻ .

¹Now before the feast of the Passover, Jesus, knowing that his time had come that he would depart from this world to the Father, having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end.

²During supper, the devil having already put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, to betray him,

³Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he came from God and was going to God,

⁴arose from supper, and laid aside his outer garments. He took a towel and wrapped a towel around his waist.

⁵Then he poured water into the basin, and began to wash the disciples’ feet and to wipe them with the towel that was wrapped around him.

⁶Then he came to Simon Peter. He said to him, “Lord, do you wash my feet?”

⁷Jesus answered him, “You don’t know what I am doing now, but you will understand later.”

⁸Peter said to him, “You will never wash my feet!”

⁹Simon Peter said to him, “Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head!”

¹⁰Jesus said to him, “Someone who has bathed only needs to have his feet washed, but is completely clean. You are clean, but not all of you.”

¹¹For he knew him who would betray him; therefore he said, “You are not all clean.”

¹²So when he had washed their feet, put his outer garment back on, and sat down again, he said to them, “Do you know what I have done to you?

¹³You call me, ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord.’ You say so correctly, for so I am.

¹⁴If I then, the Lord and the Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet.

¹⁵For I have given you an example, that you should also do as I have done to you.

¹⁶Most certainly I tell you, a servant is not greater than his lord, neither is one who is sent greater than he who sent him.

¹⁷If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them.

¹⁸I don’t speak concerning all of you. I know whom I have chosen; but that the Scripture may be fulfilled, ‘He who eats bread with me has lifted up his heel against me.’

¹⁹From now on, I tell you before it happens, that when it happens, you may believe that I am he.

²⁰Most certainly I tell you, he who receives whomever I send, receives me; and he who receives me, receives him who sent me.”

¹പെസഹപെരുനാളിന്നു മുമ്പെ താൻ ഈ ലോകം വിട്ടു പിതാവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ പോകുവാനുള്ള നാഴിക വന്നു എന്നു യേശു അറിഞ്ഞിട്ടു, ലോകത്തിൽ തനിക്കുള്ളവരെ സ്നേഹിച്ചതുപോലെ അവസാനത്തോളം അവരെ സ്നേഹിച്ചു.

²അത്താഴം ആയപ്പോൾ പിശാചു, ശിമോന്റെ മകനായ യൂദാ ഈസ്കർയോത്തവിന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തിൽ അവനെ കാണിച്ചുകൊടുപ്പാൻ തോന്നിച്ചിരുന്നു;

⁴അത്താഴത്തിൽ നിന്നു എഴുന്നേറ്റു വസ്ത്രം ഊരിവെച്ചു ഒരു തുവർത്തു എടുത്തു അരയിൽ ചുറ്റി

⁵ഒരു പാത്രത്തിൽ വെള്ളം പകർന്നു ശിഷ്യന്മാരുടെ കാൽ കഴുകുവാനും അരയിൽ ചുറ്റിയിരുന്ന തുണികൊണ്ടു തുവർത്തുവാനും തുടങ്ങി.

⁶അവൻ ശിമോൻ പത്രൊസിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നപ്പോൾ അവൻ അവനോടു: കർത്താവേ, നീ എന്റെ കാൽ കഴുകുന്നുവോ, എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

⁷യേശു അവനോടു: ഞാൻ ചെയ്യുന്നതു നീ ഇപ്പോൾ അറിയുന്നില്ല; പിന്നെ അറിയും എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

¹⁰യേശു അവനോടു: കുളിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നവന്നു കാൽ അല്ലാതെ കഴുകുവാൻ ആവശ്യം ഇല്ല; അവൻ മുഴുവനും ശുദ്ധിയുള്ളവൻ ; നിങ്ങൾ ശുദ്ധിയുള്ളവർ ആകുന്നു; എല്ലാവരും അല്ലതാനും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

¹¹തന്നെ കാണിച്ചുകൊടുക്കുന്നവനെ അറിഞ്ഞിരിക്കകൊണ്ടത്രേ എല്ലാവരും ശുദ്ധിയുള്ളവരല്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞതു.

¹²അവൻ അവരുടെ കാൽ കഴുകീട്ടു വസ്ത്രം ധരിച്ചു വീണ്ടും ഇരുന്നു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: ഞാൻ നിങ്ങൾക്കു ചെയ്തതു ഇന്നതു എന്നു അറിയുന്നുവോ?

¹³നിങ്ങൾ എന്നെ ഗുരുവെന്നും കർത്താവെന്നും വിളിക്കുന്നു; ഞാൻ അങ്ങനെ ആകകൊണ്ടു നിങ്ങൾ പറയുന്നതു ശരി.

¹⁴കർത്താവും ഗുരുവുമായ ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ കാൽ കഴുകി എങ്കിൽ നിങ്ങളും തമ്മിൽ തമ്മിൽ കാൽ കഴുകേണ്ടതാകുന്നു.

¹⁶ആമേൻ , ആമേൻ , ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു: ദാസൻ യജമാനനെക്കാൾ വലിയവൻ അല്ല; ദൂതൻ തന്നെ അയച്ചവനെക്കാൾ വലിയവനുമല്ല.

¹⁷ഇതു നിങ്ങൾ അറിയുന്നു എങ്കിൽ ചെയ്താൽ ഭാഗ്യവാന്മാർ.
