⁶²Now on the next day, which was the day after the Preparation Day, the chief priests and the Pharisees were gathered together to Pilate,

⁶³saying, “Sir, we remember what that deceiver said while he was still alive: ‘After three days I will rise again.’

⁶⁴Command therefore that the tomb be made secure until the third day, lest perhaps his disciples come at night and steal him away, and tell the people, ‘He is risen from the dead;’ and the last deception will be worse than the first.”

⁶⁵Pilate said to them, “You have a guard. Go, make it as secure as you can.”

⁶⁶So they went with the guard and made the tomb secure, sealing the stone.

⁶²ഒരുക്കനാളിന്റെ പിറ്റെ ദിവസം മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാരും പരീശന്മാരും പീലാത്തൊസിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നുകൂടി:

⁶³യജമാനനേ, ആ ചതിയൻ ജീവനോടിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ: മൂന്നുനാൾ കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു ഞാൻ ഉയിർത്തെഴുന്നേലക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞപ്രകാരം ഞങ്ങൾക്കു ഔർമ്മ വന്നു.

⁶⁴അതുകൊണ്ടു അവന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാർ ചെന്നു അവനെ മോഷ്ടിച്ചിട്ടു, അവൻ മരിച്ചവരുടെ ഇടയിൽ നിന്നു ഉയിർത്തെഴുന്നേറ്റു എന്നു ജനത്തോടു പറകയും ഒടുവിലത്തെ ചതിവു മുമ്പിലത്തേതിലും വിഷമമായിത്തീരുകയും ചെയ്യാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു മൂന്നാം നാൾവരെ കല്ലറ ഉറപ്പാക്കുവാൻ കല്പിക്ക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

⁶⁵പീലാത്തൊസ് അവരോടു: കാവൽക്കൂട്ടത്തെ തരാം; പോയി നിങ്ങളാൽ ആകുന്നെടത്തോളം ഉറപ്പുവരുത്തുവിൻ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

⁶⁶അവർ ചെന്നു കല്ലിന്നു മുദ്രവെച്ചു കാവൽക്കൂട്ടത്തെ നിറുത്തി കല്ലറ ഉറപ്പാക്കി.

⁶¹Mary Magdalene was there, and the other Mary, sitting opposite the tomb.

⁶¹കല്ലറെക്കു എതിരെ മഗ്ദലക്കാരത്തി മറിയയും മറ്റെ മറിയയും ഇരുന്നിരുന്നു.

⁵⁰Behold, there was a man named Joseph, who was a member of the council, a good and righteous man

⁵¹(he had not consented to their counsel and deed), from Arimathaea, a city of the Jews, who was also waiting for God’s Kingdom.

⁵²This man went to Pilate, and asked for Jesus’ body.

⁵³He took it down and wrapped it in a linen cloth, and laid him in a tomb that was cut in stone, where no one had ever been laid.

⁵⁴It was the day of the Preparation, and the Sabbath was drawing near.

⁵⁵The women who had come with him out of Galilee followed after, and saw the tomb and how his body was laid.

⁵⁶They returned and prepared spices and ointments. On the Sabbath they rested according to the commandment.

¹But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they and some others came to the tomb, bringing the spices which they had prepared.

²They found the stone rolled away from the tomb.

³They entered in, and didn’t find the Lord Jesus’ body.

⁴While they were greatly perplexed about this, behold, two men stood by them in dazzling clothing.

⁵Becoming terrified, they bowed their faces down to the earth.

⁶He isn’t here, but is risen. Remember what he told you when he was still in Galilee,

⁷saying that the Son of Man must be delivered up into the hands of sinful men and be crucified, and the third day rise again?”

⁸They remembered his words,

⁹returned from the tomb, and told all these things to the eleven and to all the rest.

¹⁰Now they were Mary Magdalene, Joanna, and Mary the mother of James. The other women with them told these things to the apostles.

¹¹These words seemed to them to be nonsense, and they didn’t believe them.

¹²But Peter got up and ran to the tomb. Stooping and looking in, he saw the strips of linen lying by themselves, and he departed to his home, wondering what had happened.

⁵⁰അരിമത്യ എന്നൊരു യെഹൂദ്യപട്ടണക്കാരനായി നല്ലവനും നീതിമാനും ദൈവരാജ്യത്തെ കാത്തിരുന്നവനുമായ യോസേഫ് എന്നൊരു മന്ത്രി —

⁵¹അവൻ അവരുടെ ആലോചനെക്കും പ്രവൃത്തിക്കും അനുകൂലമല്ലായിരുന്നു —

⁵²പീലാത്തൊസിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നു യേശുവിന്റെ ശരീരം ചോദിച്ചു,

⁵³അതു ഇറക്കി ഒരു ശീലയിൽ പൊതിഞ്ഞു പാറയിൽ വെട്ടിയിരുന്നതും ആരെയും ഒരിക്കലും വെച്ചിട്ടില്ലാത്തതുമായ കല്ലറയിൽ വെച്ചു. അന്നു ഒരുക്ക നാൾ ആയിരുന്നു, ശബ്ബത്തും ആരംഭിച്ചു.

⁵⁴ഗലീലയിൽ നിന്നു അവനോടുകൂടെ പോന്ന സ്ത്രീകളും പിന്നാലെ ചെന്നു കല്ലറയും അവന്റെ ശരീരം വെച്ച വിധവും കണ്ടിട്ടു

⁵⁵മടങ്ങിപ്പോയി സുഗന്ധവർഗ്ഗവും പരിമളതൈലവും ഒരുക്കി; കല്പന അനുസരിച്ചു ശബ്ബത്തിൽ സ്വസ്ഥമായിരന്നു.

¹അവർ ഒരുക്കിയ സുഗന്ധവർഗ്ഗം എടുത്തു ആഴ്ചവട്ടത്തിന്റെ ഒന്നാം ദിവസം അതികാലത്തു എത്തി,

²കല്ലറയിൽ നിന്നു കല്ലു ഉരുട്ടിക്കളഞ്ഞതായി കണ്ടു.

³അകത്തു കടന്നാറെ കർത്താവായ യേശുവിന്റെ ശരീരം കണ്ടില്ല.

⁴അതിനെക്കുറിച്ചു അവർ ചഞ്ചലിച്ചിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ മിന്നുന്ന വസ്ത്രം ധരിച്ച രണ്ടു പുരുഷാന്മാർ അരികെ നിലക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു.

⁵ഭയപ്പെട്ടു മുഖം കുനിച്ചു നിലക്കുമ്പോൾ അവർ അവരോടു: നിങ്ങൾ ജീവനുള്ളവനെ മരിച്ചവരുടെ ഇടയിൽ അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നതു എന്തു?

⁶അവൻ ഇവിടെ ഇല്ല ഉയിർത്തെഴുന്നേറ്റിരിക്കുന്നു;

⁷മുമ്പെ ഗലീലയിൽ ഇരിക്കുമ്പോൾ തന്നേ അവൻ നിങ്ങളോടു: മനുഷ്യപുത്രനെ പാപികളായ മനുഷ്യരുടെ കയ്യിൽ ഏല്പിച്ചു ക്രൂശിക്കയും അവൻ മൂന്നാം നാൾ ഉയിർത്തെഴുന്നേൽക്കയും വേണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞതു ഔർത്തുകൊൾവിൻ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു

³¹Therefore the Jews, because it was the Preparation Day, so that the bodies wouldn’t remain on the cross on the Sabbath (for that Sabbath was a special one), asked of Pilate that their legs might be broken and that they might be taken away.

³²Therefore the soldiers came and broke the legs of the first and of the other who was crucified with him;

³³but when they came to Jesus and saw that he was already dead, they didn’t break his legs.

³⁴However, one of the soldiers pierced his side with a spear, and immediately blood and water came out.

³⁵He who has seen has testified, and his testimony is true. He knows that he tells the truth, that you may believe.

³⁶For these things happened that the Scripture might be fulfilled, “A bone of him will not be broken.”

³⁷Again another Scripture says, “They will look on him whom they pierced.”

³⁸After these things, Joseph of Arimathaea, being a disciple of Jesus, but secretly for fear of the Jews, asked of Pilate that he might take away Jesus’ body. Pilate gave him permission. He came therefore and took away his body.

³⁹Nicodemus, who at first came to Jesus by night, also came bringing a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about a hundred Roman pounds.

⁴⁰So they took Jesus’ body, and bound it in linen cloths with the spices, as the custom of the Jews is to bury.

⁴¹Now in the place where he was crucified there was a garden. In the garden was a new tomb in which no man had ever yet been laid.

⁴²Then, because of the Jews’ Preparation Day (for the tomb was near at hand), they laid Jesus there.

³¹അന്നു ഒരുക്കനാളും ആ ശബ്ബത്ത് നാൾ വലിയതും ആകകൊണ്ടു ശരീരങ്ങൾ ശബ്ബത്തിൽ ക്രൂശിന്മേൽ ഇരിക്കരുതു എന്നുവെച്ചു അവരുടെ കാൽ ഒടിച്ചു എടുപ്പിക്കേണം എന്നു യെഹൂദന്മാർ പീലാത്തൊസിനോടു അപേക്ഷിച്ചു.

³²ആകയാൽ പടയാളികൾ വന്നു ഒന്നാമത്തവന്റെയും അവനോടുകൂടെ ക്രൂശിക്കപ്പെട്ട മറ്റെവന്റെയും കാൽ ഒടിച്ചു. അവർ യേശുവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നു, അവൻ മരിച്ചുപോയി എന്നു കാൺകയാൽ അവന്റെ കാൽ ഒടിച്ചില്ല. എങ്കിലും പടയാളികളിൽ ഒരുത്തൻ കുന്തംകൊണ്ടു അവന്റെ വിലാപ്പുറത്തു കുത്തി; ഉടനെ രക്തവും വെള്ളവും പുറപ്പെട്ടു.

³⁸അനന്തരം, യെഹൂദന്മാരെ പേടിച്ചിട്ടു രഹസ്യത്തിൽ യേശുവിന്റെ ഒരു ശിഷ്യനായിരുന്ന അരിമത്യയിലെ യോസേഫ് യേശുവിന്റെ ശരീരം എടുത്തു കൊണ്ടുപോകുവാൻ പീലാത്തൊസിനോടു അനുവാദം ചോദിച്ചു. പീലാത്തൊസ് അനുവദിക്കയാൽ അവൻ വന്നു അവന്റെ ശരീരം എടുത്തു.

³⁹ആദ്യം രാത്രിയിൽ അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്ന നിക്കൊദേമൊസും ഏകദേശം നൂറുറാത്തൽ മൂറും അകിലും കൊണ്ടുള്ള ഒരു കൂട്ടു കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.

⁴⁰അവർ യേശുവിന്റെ ശരീരം എടുത്തു യെഹൂദന്മാർ ശവം അടക്കുന്ന മര്യാദപ്രകാരം അതിനെ സുഗന്ധവർഗ്ഗത്തോടുകൂടെ ശീലപൊതിഞ്ഞു കെട്ടി.

⁴¹അവനെ ക്രൂശിച്ച സ്ഥലത്തുതന്നേ ഒരു തോട്ടവും ആ തോട്ടത്തിൽ മുമ്പെ ആരെയും വെച്ചിട്ടില്ലാത്ത പുതിയോരു കല്ലറയും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

⁴²ആ കല്ലറ സമീപം ആകകൊണ്ടു അവർ യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ ഒരുക്കനാൾ നിമിത്തം യേശുവിനെ അവിടെ വച്ചു.

¹God remembered Noah, all the animals, and all the livestock that were with him in the ship; and God made a wind to pass over the earth. The waters subsided.

²The deep’s fountains and the sky’s windows were also stopped, and the rain from the sky was restrained.

³The waters continually receded from the earth. After the end of one hundred fifty days the waters receded.

⁴The ship rested in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, on Ararat’s mountains.

⁵The waters receded continually until the tenth month. In the tenth month, on the first day of the month, the tops of the mountains were visible.

⁶At the end of forty days, Noah opened the window of the ship which he had made,

⁷and he sent out a raven. It went back and forth, until the waters were dried up from the earth.

⁸He himself sent out a dove to see if the waters were abated from the surface of the ground,

⁹but the dove found no place to rest her foot, and she returned into the ship to him, for the waters were on the surface of the whole earth. He put out his hand, and took her, and brought her to him into the ship.

¹⁰He waited yet another seven days; and again he sent the dove out of the ship.

¹¹The dove came back to him at evening and, behold, in her mouth was a freshly plucked olive leaf. So Noah knew that the waters were abated from the earth.

¹²He waited yet another seven days, and sent out the dove; and she didn’t return to him any more.

¹ദൈവം നോഹയെയും അവനോടുകൂടെ പെട്ടകത്തിൽ ഉള്ള സകല ജീവികളെയും സകലമൃഗങ്ങളെയും ഔർത്തു; ദൈവം ഭൂമിമേൽ ഒരു കാറ്റു അടിപ്പിച്ചു; വെള്ളം നിലെച്ചു.

²ആഴിയുടെ ഉറവുകളും ആകാശത്തിൻറെ കിളിവാതിലുകളും അടഞ്ഞു; ആകാശത്തുനിന്നുള്ള മഴയും നിന്നു.

³വെള്ളം ഇടവിടാതെ ഭൂമിയിൽനിന്നു ഇറങ്ങിക്കൊണ്ടിരുന്നു; നൂറ്റമ്പതു ദിവസം കഴിഞ്ഞശേഷം വെള്ളം കുറഞ്ഞു തുടങ്ങി.

⁴ഏഴാം മാസം പതിനേഴാം തിയ്യതി പെട്ടകം അരരാത്ത് പർവ്വതത്തിൽ ഉറെച്ചു.

⁵പത്താം മാസം വരെ വെള്ളം ഇടവിടാതെ കുറഞ്ഞു; പത്താം മാസം ഒന്നാം തിയ്യതി പർവ്വതശിഖരങ്ങൾ കാണായി.

⁶നാല്പതു ദിവസം കഴിഞ്ഞശേഷം നോഹ താൻപെട്ടകത്തിന്നു ഉണ്ടാക്കിയിരുന്ന കിളിവാതിൽ തുറന്നു.

⁷അവൻഒരു മലങ്കാക്കയെ പുറത്തു വിട്ടു; അതു പുറപ്പെട്ടു ഭൂമിയിൽ വെള്ളം വറ്റിപ്പോയതു വരെ പോയും വന്നും കൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

⁸ഭൂമിയിൽ വെള്ളം കുറഞ്ഞുവോ എന്നു അറിയേണ്ടതിന്നു അവൻഒരു പ്രാവിനെയും തൻറെ അടുക്കൽനിന്നു പുറത്തു വിട്ടു.

⁹എന്നാൽ സർവ്വഭൂമിയിലും വെള്ളം കിടക്കകൊണ്ടു പ്രാവു കാൽ വെപ്പാൻസ്ഥലം കാണാതെ അവൻറെ അടുക്കൽ പെട്ടകത്തിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിവന്നു; അവൻകൈനീട്ടി അതിനെ പിടിച്ചു തൻറെ അടുക്കൽ പെട്ടകത്തിൽ ആക്കി.

¹⁰ഏഴു ദിവസം കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു അവൻവീണ്ടും ആ പ്രാവിനെ പെട്ടകത്തിൽ നിന്നു പുറത്തു വിട്ടു.

¹¹പ്രാവു വൈകുന്നേരത്തു അവൻറെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നു; അതിൻറെ വായിൽ അതാ, ഒരു പച്ച ഒലിവില; അതിനാൽ ഭൂമിയിൽ വെള്ളം കുറഞ്ഞു എന്നു നോഹ അറിഞ്ഞു.

¹²പിന്നെയും ഏഴു ദിവസം കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു അവൻആ പ്രാവിനെ പുറത്തു വിട്ടു; അതു പിന്നെ അവൻറെ അടുക്കൽ മടങ്ങി വന്നില്ല.

¹¹In that day there will be a great mourning in Jerusalem, like the mourning of Hadadrimmon in the valley of Megiddo.

¹²The land will mourn, every family apart; the family of David’s house apart, and their wives apart; the family of the house of Nathan apart, and their wives apart;

¹³the family of the house of Levi apart, and their wives apart; the family of the Shimeites apart, and their wives apart;

¹⁴all the families who remain, every family apart, and their wives apart.

¹“In that day there will be a fountain opened to David’s house and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, for sin and for uncleanness.

²It will come to pass in that day, says Yahweh of Armies, that I will cut off the names of the idols out of the land, and they will be remembered no more. I will also cause the prophets and the spirit of impurity to pass out of the land.

³It will happen that when anyone still prophesies, then his father and his mother who bore him will tell him, ‘You must die, because you speak lies in Yahweh’s name;’ and his father and his mother who bore him will stab him when he prophesies.

⁴It will happen in that day that the prophets will each be ashamed of his vision when he prophesies; they won’t wear a hairy mantle to deceive,

⁵but he will say, ‘I am no prophet, I am a tiller of the ground; for I have been made a bondservant from my youth.’

⁶One will say to him, ‘What are these wounds between your arms?’ Then he will answer, ‘Those with which I was wounded in the house of my friends.’

⁷“Awake, sword, against my shepherd,

¹¹അന്നാളിൽ മെഗിദ്ദോതാഴ്വരയിലുള്ള ഹദദ്-രിമ്മോനിലെ വിലാപംപോലെ യെരൂശലേമിൽ ഒരു മഹാവിലാപം ഉണ്ടാകും.

¹²ദേശം കുലംകുലമായി വെവ്വേറെ വിലപിക്കും; ദാവീദ്ഗൃഹത്തിന്റെ കുലം പ്രത്യേകവും അവരുടെ സ്ത്രീജനം പ്രത്യേകവും; നാഥാൻ ഗൃഹത്തിന്റെ കുലം പ്രത്യേകവും അവരുടെ സ്ത്രീജനം പ്രത്യേകവും;

¹³ലേവിഗൃഹത്തിന്റെ കുലം പ്രത്യേകവും അവരുടെ സ്ത്രീജനം പ്രത്യേകവും; ശിമെയി കുലം പ്രത്യേകവും; അവരുടെ സ്ത്രീജനം പ്രത്യേകവും;

¹⁴ശേഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന കുലങ്ങളൊക്കെയും അതതു കുലം പ്രത്യേകവും അവരുടെ സ്ത്രീജനം പ്രത്യേകവും വിലപിക്കും.

¹അന്നാളിൽ ദാവീദ്ഗൃഹത്തിന്നും യെരൂശലേംനിവാസികൾക്കും പാപത്തിന്റെയും മാലിന്യത്തിന്റെയും പരിഹാരത്തിന്നായി ഒരു ഉറവു തുറന്നിരിക്കും.

²അന്നാളിൽ ഞാൻ ദേശത്തുനിന്നു വിഗ്രഹങ്ങളുടെ പേർ ഇല്ലാതാക്കും; ഇനി അവയെ ഔർക്കയുമില്ല; ഞാൻ പ്രവാചകന്മാരെയും മലിനാത്മാവിനെയും ദേശത്തുനിന്നു നീക്കിക്കളയും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

³ആരെങ്കിലും ഇനി പ്രവചിക്കുമ്പോൾ അവനെ ജനിപ്പിച്ച അപ്പനും അമ്മയും അവനോടു: യഹോവയുടെ നാമത്തിൽ ഭോഷകു സംസാരിക്കുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു നീ ജീവനോടിരിക്കയില്ല എന്നു പറകയും അവനെ ജനിപ്പിച്ച അപ്പനും അമ്മയും അവൻ പ്രവചിക്കയിൽതന്നേ അവനെ കുത്തിക്കളകയും ചെയ്യും.

⁴അന്നാളിൽ പ്രവാചകന്മാർ പ്രവചിക്കയിൽ ഔരോരുത്തൻ താന്താന്റെ ദർശനത്തെക്കുറിച്ചു ലജ്ജിക്കും; ലജ്ജിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവർ രോമമുള്ള മേലങ്കി ധരിക്കയുമില്ല.

⁵ഞാൻ പ്രവാചകനല്ല, കൃഷിക്കാരനത്രേ; എന്റെ ബാല്യത്തിൽ തന്നേ ഒരാൾ എന്നെ വിലെക്കു മേടിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു അവൻ പറയും. എന്നാൽ അവനോടു:

⁶നിന്റെ കയ്യിൽ കാണുന്ന ഈ മുറിവുകൾ എന്തു എന്നു ചോദിക്കുന്നതിന്നു അവൻ : എന്നെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നവരുടെ വീട്ടിൽവെച്ചു ഞാൻ അടികൊണ്ടതാകുന്നു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറയും.

⁷വാളേ, എന്റെ ഇടയന്റെ നേരെയും എന്റെ കൂട്ടാളിയായ പുരുഷന്റെ നേരെയും ഉണരുക എന്നു സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു; ആടുകൾ ചിതറിപ്പോകേണ്ടതിന്നു ഇടയനെ വെട്ടുക; ഞാൻ ചെറിയവരുടെ നേരെ കൈ തിരിക്കും.

²“Yahweh says, ‘He who remains in this city will die by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence, but he who goes out to the Chaldeans will live. He will escape with his life and he will live.’

³Yahweh says, ‘This city will surely be given into the hand of the army of the king of Babylon, and he will take it.’ ”

⁴Then the princes said to the king, “Please let this man be put to death, because he weakens the hands of the men of war who remain in this city, and the hands of all the people, in speaking such words to them; for this man doesn’t seek the welfare of this people, but harm.”

⁵Zedekiah the king said, “Behold, he is in your hand; for the king can’t do anything to oppose you.”

⁶Then they took Jeremiah and threw him into the dungeon of Malchijah the king’s son, that was in the court of the guard. They let down Jeremiah with cords. In the dungeon there was no water, but mire; and Jeremiah sank in the mire.

⁷Now when Ebedmelech the Ethiopian, a eunuch, who was in the king’s house, heard that they had put Jeremiah in the dungeon (the king was then sitting in Benjamin’s gate),

⁸Ebedmelech went out of the king’s house, and spoke to the king, saying,

⁹“My lord the king, these men have done evil in all that they have done to Jeremiah the prophet, whom they have cast into the dungeon. He is likely to die in the place where he is, because of the famine; for there is no more bread in the city.”

¹⁰Then the king commanded Ebedmelech the Ethiopian, saying, “Take from here thirty men with you, and take up Jeremiah the prophet out of the dungeon, before he dies.”

¹¹So Ebedmelech took the men with him, and went into the house of the king under the treasury, and took from there rags and worn-out garments, and let them down by cords into the dungeon to Jeremiah.

¹²Ebedmelech the Ethiopian said to Jeremiah, “Now put these rags and worn-out garments under your armpits under the cords.”

¹³So they lifted Jeremiah up with the cords, and took him up out of the dungeon; and Jeremiah remained in the court of the guard.

⁷അവർ യിരെമ്യാവെ കുഴിയിൽ ഇട്ടുകളഞ്ഞു എന്നു രാജഗൃഹത്തിൽ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന കൂശ്യനായ ഏബെദ്--മേലെൿ എന്ന ഷണ്ഡൻ കേട്ടു; അന്നു രാജാവു ബെന്യാമീൻ വാതിൽക്കൽ ഇരിക്കയായിരുന്നു.

⁸ഏബെദ്-മേലെൿ രാജഗൃഹത്തിൽനിന്നു ഇറങ്ങിച്ചെന്നു രാജാവിനോടു സംസാരിച്ചു:

⁹യജമാനനായ രാജാവേ, ഈ മനുഷ്യൻ യിരെമ്യാപ്രവാചകനോടു ചെയ്തതൊക്കെയും അന്യായമത്രേ; അവർ അവനെ കുഴിയിൽ ഇട്ടുകളഞ്ഞു; നഗരത്തിൽ അപ്പം ഇല്ലായ്കയാൽ അവൻ അവിടെ പട്ടിണികിടന്നു ചാകേയുള്ള എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

⁸Don’t rejoice against me, my enemy.

⁹I will bear the indignation of Yahweh,

¹⁰Then my enemy will see it,

¹¹A day to build your walls!

¹²In that day they will come to you from Assyria and the cities of Egypt,

¹³Yet the land will be desolate because of those who dwell therein,

¹³Now who will harm you if you become imitators of that which is good?

¹⁴But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you are blessed. “Don’t fear what they fear, neither be troubled.”

¹⁵But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts. Always be ready to give an answer to everyone who asks you a reason concerning the hope that is in you, with humility and fear,

¹⁶having a good conscience. Thus, while you are spoken against as evildoers, they may be disappointed who curse your good way of life in Christ.

¹⁷For it is better, if it is God’s will, that you suffer for doing what is right than for doing evil.

¹⁸Because Christ also suffered for sins once, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring you to God, being put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the Spirit,

¹⁹in whom he also went and preached to the spirits in prison,

²⁰who before were disobedient when God waited patiently in the days of Noah while the ship was being built. In it, few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water.

²¹This is a symbol of baptism, which now saves you—not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God—through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,

²²who is at the right hand of God, having gone into heaven, angels and authorities and powers being made subject to him.

¹³നിങ്ങൾ നന്മ ചെയ്യുന്നതിൽ ശൂഷ്കാന്തിയുള്ളവർ ആകുന്നു എങ്കിൽ നിങ്ങൾക്കു ദോഷം ചെയ്യുന്നവൻ ആർ?

¹What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?

²May it never be! We who died to sin, how could we live in it any longer?

³Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?

⁴We were buried therefore with him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we also might walk in newness of life.

⁵For if we have become united with him in the likeness of his death, we will also be part of his resurrection;

⁶knowing this, that our old man was crucified with him, that the body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be in bondage to sin.

⁷For he who has died has been freed from sin.

⁸But if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him,

⁹knowing that Christ, being raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over him!

¹⁰For the death that he died, he died to sin one time; but the life that he lives, he lives to God.

¹¹Thus consider yourselves also to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

¹²Therefore don’t let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts.

¹³Also, do not present your members to sin as instruments of unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God as alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God.

¹⁴For sin will not have dominion over you, for you are not under law, but under grace.

¹ആകയാൽ നാം എന്തു പറയേണ്ടു? കൃപ പെരുകേണ്ടതിന്നു പാപം ചെയ്തുകൊണ്ടിരിക്ക എന്നോ? ഒരുനാളും അരുതു.

²പാപസംബന്ധമായി മരിച്ചവരായ നാം ഇനി അതിൽ ജീവിക്കുന്നതു എങ്ങനെ?

³അല്ല, യേശു ക്രിസ്തുവിനോടു ചേരുവാൻ സ്നാനം ഏറ്റവരായ നാം എല്ലാവരും അവന്റെ മരണത്തിൽ പങ്കാളികളാകുവാൻ സ്നാനം ഏറ്റിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ അറിയുന്നില്ലയോ?

⁶നാം ഇനി പാപത്തിന്നു അടിമപ്പെടാതവണ്ണം പാപശരീരത്തിന്നു നീക്കം വരേണ്ടതിന്നു നമ്മുടെ പഴയ മനുഷ്യൻ അവനോടുകൂടെ ക്രൂശിക്കപ്പെട്ടു എന്നു നാം അറിയുന്നു.

⁷അങ്ങനെ മരിച്ചവൻ പാപത്തിൽ നിന്നു മോചനം പ്രാപിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

⁸നാം ക്രിസ്തുവിനോടു കൂടെ മരിച്ചു എങ്കിൽ അവനോടുകൂടെ ജീവിക്കും എന്നു വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നു.

⁹ക്രിസ്തു മരിച്ചിട്ടു ഉയിർത്തെഴുന്നേറ്റിരിക്കയാൽ ഇനി മരിക്കയില്ല; മരണത്തിന്നു അവന്റെ മേൽ ഇനി കർത്തൃത്വമില്ല എന്നു നാം അറിയുന്നുവല്ലോ.

¹⁰അവൻ മരിച്ചതു പാപസംബന്ധമായി ഒരിക്കലായിട്ടു മരിച്ചു; അവൻ ജീവിക്കുന്നതോ ദൈവത്തിന്നു ജീവിക്കുന്നു.

¹¹അവ്വണ്ണം നിങ്ങളും പാപ സംബന്ധമായി മരിച്ചവർ എന്നു ക്രിസ്തുയേശുവിൽ ദൈവത്തിന്നു ജീവിക്കുന്നവർ എന്നും നിങ്ങളെത്തന്നേ എണ്ണുവിൻ .

¹²ആകയാൽ പാപം നിങ്ങളുടെ മർത്യശരീരത്തിൽ അതിന്റെ മോഹങ്ങളെ അനുസരിക്കുമാറു ഇനി വാഴരുതു,

¹³നിങ്ങളുടെ അവയവങ്ങളെ അനീതിയുടെ ആയുധങ്ങളായി പാപത്തിന്നു സമർപ്പിക്കയും അരുതു. നിങ്ങളെത്തന്നേ മരിച്ചിട്ടു ജീവിക്കുന്നവരായും നിങ്ങളുടെ അവയവങ്ങളെ നീതിയുടെ ആയുധങ്ങളായും ദൈവത്തിന്നു സമർപ്പിച്ചുകൊൾവിൻ .

¹⁴നിങ്ങൾ ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിന്നല്ല, കൃപെക്കത്രെ അധീനരാകയാൽ പാപം നിങ്ങളിൽ കർത്തൃത്വം നടത്തുകയില്ലല്ലോ.

⁶²Now on the next day, which was the day after the Preparation Day, the chief priests and the Pharisees were gathered together to Pilate,

⁶³saying, “Sir, we remember what that deceiver said while he was still alive: ‘After three days I will rise again.’

⁶⁴Command therefore that the tomb be made secure until the third day, lest perhaps his disciples come at night and steal him away, and tell the people, ‘He is risen from the dead;’ and the last deception will be worse than the first.”

⁶⁵Pilate said to them, “You have a guard. Go, make it as secure as you can.”

⁶⁶So they went with the guard and made the tomb secure, sealing the stone.

⁶²ഒരുക്കനാളിന്റെ പിറ്റെ ദിവസം മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാരും പരീശന്മാരും പീലാത്തൊസിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നുകൂടി:

⁶³യജമാനനേ, ആ ചതിയൻ ജീവനോടിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ: മൂന്നുനാൾ കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു ഞാൻ ഉയിർത്തെഴുന്നേലക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞപ്രകാരം ഞങ്ങൾക്കു ഔർമ്മ വന്നു.

⁶⁴അതുകൊണ്ടു അവന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാർ ചെന്നു അവനെ മോഷ്ടിച്ചിട്ടു, അവൻ മരിച്ചവരുടെ ഇടയിൽ നിന്നു ഉയിർത്തെഴുന്നേറ്റു എന്നു ജനത്തോടു പറകയും ഒടുവിലത്തെ ചതിവു മുമ്പിലത്തേതിലും വിഷമമായിത്തീരുകയും ചെയ്യാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു മൂന്നാം നാൾവരെ കല്ലറ ഉറപ്പാക്കുവാൻ കല്പിക്ക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

⁶⁵പീലാത്തൊസ് അവരോടു: കാവൽക്കൂട്ടത്തെ തരാം; പോയി നിങ്ങളാൽ ആകുന്നെടത്തോളം ഉറപ്പുവരുത്തുവിൻ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

⁶⁶അവർ ചെന്നു കല്ലിന്നു മുദ്രവെച്ചു കാവൽക്കൂട്ടത്തെ നിറുത്തി കല്ലറ ഉറപ്പാക്കി.

¹¹Beloved, if God loved us in this way, we also ought to love one another.

¹²No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God remains in us, and his love has been perfected in us.

¹³By this we know that we remain in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit.

¹⁴We have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son as the Savior of the world.

¹⁵Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God remains in him, and he in God.

¹⁶We know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and he who remains in love remains in God, and God remains in him.

¹⁷In this, love has been made perfect among us, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment, because as he is, even so we are in this world.

¹⁸There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear has punishment. He who fears is not made perfect in love.

¹⁹We love him, because he first loved us.

²⁰If a man says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who doesn’t love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen?

²¹This commandment we have from him, that he who loves God should also love his brother.

¹¹പ്രിയമുള്ളവരേ, ദൈവം നമ്മെ ഇങ്ങനെ സ്നേഹിച്ചു എങ്കിൽ നാമും അന്യോന്യം സ്നേഹിക്കേണ്ടതാകുന്നു.

¹²ദൈവത്തെ ആരും ഒരുനാളും കണ്ടിട്ടില്ല. നാം അന്യേന്യം സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നുവെങ്കിൽ ദൈവം നമ്മിൽ വസിക്കുന്നു; അവന്റെ സ്നേഹം നമ്മിൽ തികഞ്ഞുമിരിക്കുന്നു.

¹³നാം അവനിലും അവൻ നമ്മിലും വസിക്കുന്നു എന്നു അവൻ തന്റെ ആത്മാവിനെ തന്നതിനാൽ നാം അറിയുന്നു.

¹⁴പിതാവു പുത്രനെ ലോകരക്ഷിതാവായിട്ടു അയച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഞങ്ങൾ കണ്ടു സാക്ഷ്യം പറയുന്നു.

¹⁵യേശു ദൈവപുത്രൻ എന്നു സ്വീകരിക്കുന്നവനിൽ ദൈവവും അവൻ ദൈവത്തിലും വസിക്കുന്നു.

¹⁶ഇങ്ങനെ ദൈവത്തിന്നു നമ്മോടുള്ള സ്നേഹത്തെ നാം അറിഞ്ഞും വിശ്വസിച്ചുമിരിക്കുന്നു. ദൈവം സ്നേഹം തന്നേ; സ്നേഹത്തിൽ വസിക്കുന്നവൻ ദൈവത്തിൽ വസിക്കുന്നു; ദൈവം അവനിലും വസിക്കുന്നു.

¹⁷ന്യായവിധിദിവസത്തിൽ നമുക്കു ധൈൎയ്യം ഉണ്ടാവാൻ തക്കവണ്ണം ഇതിനാൽ സ്നേഹം നമ്മോടു തികഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു. അവൻ ഇരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ ഈ ലോകത്തിൽ നാമും ഇരിക്കുന്നു.

¹⁸സ്നേഹത്തിൽ ഭയമില്ല; ഭയത്തിന്നു ദണ്ഡനം ഉള്ളതിനാൽ തികഞ്ഞ സ്നേഹം ഭയത്തെ പുറത്താക്കിക്കളയുന്നു; ഭയപ്പെടുന്നവൻ സ്നേഹത്തിൽ തികഞ്ഞവനല്ല.

¹⁹അവൻ ആദ്യം നമ്മെ സ്നേഹിച്ചതുകൊണ്ടു നാം സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നു.

²⁰ഞാൻ ദൈവത്തെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറകയും തന്റെ സഹോദരനെ പകെക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നവൻ കള്ളനാകുന്നു. താൻ കണ്ടിട്ടുള്ള സഹോദരനെ സ്നേഹിക്കാത്തവന്നു കണ്ടിട്ടില്ലാത്ത ദൈവത്തെ സ്നേഹിപ്പാൻ കഴിയുന്നതല്ല.

²¹ദൈവത്തെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നവൻ സഹോദരനെയും സ്നേഹിക്കേണം എന്നീ കല്പന നമുക്കു അവങ്കൽനിന്നു ലഭിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

⁴Love is patient and is kind. Love doesn’t envy. Love doesn’t brag, is not proud,

⁵doesn’t behave itself inappropriately, doesn’t seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil;

⁶doesn’t rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth;

⁷bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, and endures all things.

⁸Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will be done away with. Where there are various languages, they will cease. Where there is knowledge, it will be done away with.

⁹For we know in part and we prophesy in part;

¹⁰but when that which is complete has come, then that which is partial will be done away with.

⁴സ്നേഹം ദീർഘമായി ക്ഷമിക്കയും ദയ കാണിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നു; സ്നേഹം സ്പർദ്ധിക്കുന്നില്ല.

⁵സ്നേഹം നിഗളിക്കുന്നില്ല. ചീർക്കുംന്നില്ല; അയോഗ്യമായി നടക്കുന്നില്ല സ്വാർത്ഥം അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നില്ല, ദ്വേഷ്യപ്പെടുന്നില്ല, ദോഷം കണക്കിടുന്നില്ല;

⁶അനീതിയിൽ സന്തോഷിക്കാതെ സത്യത്തിൽ സന്തോഷിക്കുന്നു:

⁷എല്ലാം പൊറുക്കുന്നു, എല്ലാം വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നു, എല്ലാം പ്രത്യാശിക്കുന്നു, എല്ലാം സഹിക്കുന്നു.

⁸സ്നേഹം ഒരുനാളും ഉതിർന്നുപോകയില്ല. പ്രവചനവരമോ, അതു നീങ്ങിപ്പോകും; ഭാഷാവരമോ, അതു നിന്നുപോകും; ജ്ഞാനമോ, അതു നീങ്ങിപ്പോകും.

⁹അംശമായി മാത്രം നാം അറിയുന്നു; അംശമായി മാത്രം പ്രവചിക്കുന്നു;

¹⁰പൂർണ്ണമായതു വരുമ്പോഴോ അംശമായതു നീങ്ങിപ്പോകും.

¹²“What do you think? If a man has one hundred sheep, and one of them goes astray, doesn’t he leave the ninety-nine, go to the mountains, and seek that which has gone astray?

¹³If he finds it, most certainly I tell you, he rejoices over it more than over the ninety-nine which have not gone astray.

¹⁴Even so it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish.

¹⁵“If your brother sins against you, go, show him his fault between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained back your brother.

¹⁶But if he doesn’t listen, take one or two more with you, that at the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.

¹⁷If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the assembly. If he refuses to hear the assembly also, let him be to you as a Gentile or a tax collector.

¹⁸Most certainly I tell you, whatever things you bind on earth will have been bound in heaven, and whatever things you release on earth will have been released in heaven.

¹⁹Again, assuredly I tell you, that if two of you will agree on earth concerning anything that they will ask, it will be done for them by my Father who is in heaven.

²⁰For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there I am in the middle of them.”

²¹Then Peter came and said to him, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Until seven times?”

²²Jesus said to him, “I don’t tell you until seven times, but, until seventy times seven.

²³Therefore the Kingdom of Heaven is like a certain king who wanted to settle accounts with his servants.

²⁴When he had begun to settle, one was brought to him who owed him ten thousand talents.

²⁵But because he couldn’t pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, with his wife, his children, and all that he had, and payment to be made.

²⁶The servant therefore fell down and knelt before him, saying, ‘Lord, have patience with me, and I will repay you all!’

²⁷The lord of that servant, being moved with compassion, released him and forgave him the debt.

²⁸“But that servant went out and found one of his fellow servants who owed him one hundred denarii, and he grabbed him and took him by the throat, saying, ‘Pay me what you owe!’

²⁹“So his fellow servant fell down at his feet and begged him, saying, ‘Have patience with me, and I will repay you!’

³⁰He would not, but went and cast him into prison until he should pay back that which was due.

³¹So when his fellow servants saw what was done, they were exceedingly sorry, and came and told their lord all that was done.

³²Then his lord called him in and said to him, ‘You wicked servant! I forgave you all that debt because you begged me.

³³Shouldn’t you also have had mercy on your fellow servant, even as I had mercy on you?’

³⁴His lord was angry, and delivered him to the tormentors until he should pay all that was due to him.

³⁵So my heavenly Father will also do to you, if you don’t each forgive your brother from your hearts for his misdeeds.”

¹²നിങ്ങൾക്കു എന്തു തോന്നുന്നു? ഒരു മനുഷ്യന്നു നൂറു ആടു ഉണ്ടു എന്നിരിക്കട്ടെ; അവയിൽ ഒന്നു തെറ്റി ഉഴന്നുപോയാൽ തൊണ്ണൂറ്റൊമ്പതിനെയും വിട്ടേച്ചു തെറ്റിപ്പോയതിനെ മലകളിൽ ചെന്നു തിരയുന്നില്ലയോ?

¹³അതിനെ കണ്ടെത്തിയാൽ തെറ്റിപ്പോകാത്ത തൊണ്ണൂറ്റമ്പതിലും അധികം അതിനെക്കുറിച്ചു സന്തോഷിക്കും എന്നു ഞാൻ സത്യമായിട്ടു നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

¹⁴അങ്ങനെതന്നേ ഈ ചെറിയവരിൽ ഒരുത്തൻ നശിച്ചുപോകുന്നതു സ്വർഗ്ഗസ്ഥനായ നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാവിന്നു ഇഷ്ടമല്ല.

¹⁵നിന്റെ സഹോദരൻ നിന്നോടു പിഴെച്ചാൽ നീ ചെന്നു നീയും അവനും മാത്രം ഉള്ളപ്പോൾ കുറ്റം അവന്നു ബോധം വരുത്തുക; അവൻ നിന്റെ വാക്കു കേട്ടാൽ നീ സഹോദരനെ നേടി.

¹⁶കേൾക്കാഞ്ഞാലോ രണ്ടു മൂന്നു സാക്ഷികളുടെ വായാൽ സകല കാര്യവും ഉറപ്പാകേണ്ടതിന്നു ഒന്നു രണ്ടു പേരെ കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടു ചെല്ലുക.

¹⁷അവരെ കൂട്ടാക്കാഞ്ഞാൽ സഭയോടു അറിയിക്ക; സഭയെയും കൂട്ടാക്കാഞ്ഞാൽ അവൻ നിനക്കു പുറജാതിക്കാരനും ചുങ്കക്കാരനും എന്നപോലെ ഇരിക്കട്ടെ.

¹⁸നിങ്ങൾ ഭൂമിയിൽ കെട്ടുന്നതെല്ലാം സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിലും കെട്ടപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കും; നിങ്ങൾ ഭൂമിയിൽ അഴിക്കുന്നതെല്ലാം സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിലും അഴിഞ്ഞിരിക്കും എന്നു ഞാൻ സത്യമായിട്ടു നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

¹⁹ഭൂമിയിൽവെച്ചു നിങ്ങളിൽ രണ്ടുപേർ യാചിക്കുന്ന ഏതു കാര്യത്തിലും ഐകമത്യപ്പെട്ടാൽ അതു സ്വർഗ്ഗസ്ഥനായ എന്റെ പിതാവിങ്കൽ നിന്നു അവർക്കും ലഭിക്കും;

²⁰രണ്ടോ മൂന്നോ പേർ എന്റെ നാമത്തിൽ കൂടിവരുന്നേടത്തൊക്കയും ഞാൻ അവരുടെ നടുവിൽ ഉണ്ടു എന്നും ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.”

²¹അപ്പോൾ പത്രൊസ് അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നു: കർത്താവേ, സഹോദരൻ എത്രവട്ടം എന്നോടു പിഴെച്ചാൽ ഞാൻ ക്ഷമിക്കേണം?

²²ഏഴുവട്ടം മതിയോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. യേശു അവനോടു: “ഏഴുവട്ടമല്ല, എഴു എഴുപതു വട്ടം എന്നു ഞാൻ നിന്നോടു പറയുന്നു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

²³“സ്വർഗ്ഗരാജ്യം തന്റെ ദാസന്മാരുമായി കണകൂ തീർപ്പാൻ ഭാവിക്കുന്ന ഒരു രാജാവിനോടു സദൃശം.

²⁴അവൻ കണകൂ നോക്കിത്തുടങ്ങിയപ്പോൾ പതിനായിരം താലന്തു കടമ്പെട്ട ഒരുത്തനെ അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടു വന്നു.

²⁵അവന്നു വീട്ടുവാൻ വകയില്ലായ്കയാൽ അവന്റെ യജമാനൻ അവനെയും ഭാര്യയെയും മക്കളെയും അവന്നുള്ളതൊക്കെയും വിറ്റു കടം തീർപ്പാൻ കല്പിച്ചു.

²⁶അതു കൊണ്ടു ആ ദാസൻ വീണു അവനെ നമസ്കരിച്ചു: യജമാനനേ എന്നോടു ക്ഷമ തോന്നേണമേ; ഞാൻ സകലവും തന്നു തീർക്കാം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

²⁷അപ്പോൾ ആ ദാസന്റെ യജമാനൻ മനസ്സലിഞ്ഞു അവനെ വിട്ടയച്ചു കടവും ഇളെച്ചുകൊടുത്തു.

²⁸ആ ദാസൻ പോകുമ്പോൾ തനിക്കു നൂറു വെള്ളിക്കാശു കടമ്പെട്ട ഒരു കൂട്ടുദാസനെ കണ്ടു തൊണ്ടെക്കു പിടിച്ചു ഞെക്കി: നിന്റെ കടം തീർക്കുംക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

²⁹അവന്റെ കൂട്ടുദാസൻ : എന്നോടു ക്ഷമ തോന്നേണമേ; ഞാൻ തന്നു തീർക്കാം എന്നു അവനോടു അപേക്ഷിച്ച.

³⁰എന്നാൽ അവൻ മനസ്സില്ലാതെ ഉടനെ ചെന്നു കടം വീട്ടുവോളം അവനെ തടവിൽ ആക്കിച്ചു.

³¹ഈ സംഭവിച്ചതു അവന്റെ കൂട്ടുദാസന്മാർ കണ്ടിട്ടു വളരെ ദുഃഖിച്ചു, ചെന്നു സംഭവിച്ചതു ഒക്കെയും യജമാനനെ ബോധിപ്പിച്ചു.

³²യജമാനൻ അവനെ വിളിച്ചു: ദുഷ്ടദാസനേ, നീ എന്നോടു അപേക്ഷിക്കയാൽ ഞാൻ ആ കടം ഒക്കെയും ഇളെച്ചുതന്നുവല്ലോ.

³³എനിക്കു നിന്നോടു കരുണ തോന്നിയതുപോലെ നിനക്കും കൂട്ടുദാസനോടു കരുണ തോന്നേണ്ടതല്ലയോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു

³⁴അങ്ങനെ യജമാനൻ കോപിച്ചു, അവൻ കടമൊക്കെയും തീർക്കുംവോളം അവനെ ദണ്ഡിപ്പിക്കുന്നവരുടെ കയ്യിൽ ഏല്പിച്ചു

³⁵നിങ്ങൾ ഔരോരുത്തൻ സഹോദരനോടു ഹൃദയപൂർവം ക്ഷമിക്കാഞ്ഞാൽ സ്വർഗ്ഗസ്ഥനായ എന്റെ പിതാവു അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ നിങ്ങളോടും ചെയ്യും.”
