³¹In the meanwhile, the disciples urged him, saying, “Rabbi, eat.”

³²But he said to them, “I have food to eat that you don’t know about.”

³³The disciples therefore said to one another, “Has anyone brought him something to eat?”

³⁴Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of him who sent me and to accomplish his work.

³⁵Don’t you say, ‘There are yet four months until the harvest’? Behold, I tell you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, that they are white for harvest already.

³⁶He who reaps receives wages and gathers fruit to eternal life, that both he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together.

³⁷For in this the saying is true, ‘One sows, and another reaps.’

³⁸I sent you to reap that for which you haven’t labored. Others have labored, and you have entered into their labor.”

³¹അതിന്നിടയിൽ ശിഷ്യന്മാർ അവനോടു: റബ്ബീ, ഭക്ഷിച്ചാലും എന്നു അപേക്ഷിച്ചു.

³²അതിന്നു അവൻ : നിങ്ങൾ അറിയാത്ത ആഹാരം ഭക്ഷിപ്പാൻ എനിക്കു ഉണ്ടു എന്നു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

³⁸നിങ്ങൾ അദ്ധ്വാനിച്ചിട്ടില്ലാത്തതു കൊയ്‍വാൻ ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെ അയച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; മറ്റുള്ളവർ അദ്ധ്വാനിച്ചു; അവരുടെ അദ്ധ്വാനഫലത്തിലേക്കു നിങ്ങൾ പ്രവേശിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

¹⁹When therefore it was evening on that day, the first day of the week, and when the doors were locked where the disciples were assembled, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the middle and said to them, “Peace be to you.”

²⁰When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side. The disciples therefore were glad when they saw the Lord.

²¹Jesus therefore said to them again, “Peace be to you. As the Father has sent me, even so I send you.”

²²When he had said this, he breathed on them, and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit!

²³If you forgive anyone’s sins, they have been forgiven them. If you retain anyone’s sins, they have been retained.”

²⁴But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, wasn’t with them when Jesus came.

²⁵The other disciples therefore said to him, “We have seen the Lord!”

²⁶After eight days, again his disciples were inside and Thomas was with them. Jesus came, the doors being locked, and stood in the middle, and said, “Peace be to you.”

²⁷Then he said to Thomas, “Reach here your finger, and see my hands. Reach here your hand, and put it into my side. Don’t be unbelieving, but believing.”

²⁸Thomas answered him, “My Lord and my God!”

²⁹Jesus said to him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and have believed.”

³⁰Therefore Jesus did many other signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book;

³¹but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in his name.

⁴¹Pharaoh said to Joseph, “Behold, I have set you over all the land of Egypt.”

⁴²Pharaoh took off his signet ring from his hand, and put it on Joseph’s hand, and arrayed him in robes of fine linen, and put a gold chain about his neck.

⁴³He made him ride in the second chariot which he had. They cried before him, “Bow the knee!” He set him over all the land of Egypt.

⁴⁴Pharaoh said to Joseph, “I am Pharaoh. Without you, no man shall lift up his hand or his foot in all the land of Egypt.”

⁴⁵Pharaoh called Joseph’s name Zaphenath-Paneah. He gave him Asenath, the daughter of Potiphera priest of On as a wife. Joseph went out over the land of Egypt.

⁴⁶Joseph was thirty years old when he stood before Pharaoh king of Egypt. Joseph went out from the presence of Pharaoh, and went throughout all the land of Egypt.

¹Remember also your Creator in the days of your youth,

²Before the sun, the light, the moon, and the stars are darkened,

³in the day when the keepers of the house shall tremble,

⁴and the doors shall be shut in the street;

⁵yes, they shall be afraid of heights,

⁶before the silver cord is severed,

⁷and the dust returns to the earth as it was,

⁸“Vanity of vanities,” says the Preacher.

⁵അന്നു അവർ കയറ്റത്തെ പേടിക്കും; വഴിയിൽ ഭീതികൾ ഉള്ളതായി തോന്നും; ബദാംവൃക്ഷം പൂക്കും; തുള്ളൻ ഇഴഞ്ഞുനടക്കും; രോചനക്കുരു ഫലിക്കാതെ വരും; മനുഷ്യൻ തന്റെ ശാശ്വതഭവനത്തിലേക്കു പോകും; വിലാപം കഴിക്കുന്നവർ വീഥിയിൽ ചുറ്റി സഞ്ചരിക്കും.

⁶അന്നു വെള്ളിച്ചരടു അറ്റുപോകും; പൊൻ കിണ്ണം തകരും; ഉറവിങ്കലെ കുടം ഉടയും; കിണറ്റിങ്കലെ ചക്രം തകരും.

⁴Now Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,

⁵“Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you.

⁶Then I said, “Ah, Lord Yahweh! Behold, I don’t know how to speak; for I am a child.”

⁷But Yahweh said to me, “Don’t say, ‘I am a child;’ for you must go to whomever I send you, and you must say whatever I command you.

⁸Don’t be afraid because of them, for I am with you to rescue you,” says Yahweh.

⁹Then Yahweh stretched out his hand and touched my mouth. Then Yahweh said to me, “Behold, I have put my words in your mouth.

¹⁰Behold, I have today set you over the nations and over the kingdoms, to uproot and to tear down, to destroy and to overthrow, to build and to plant.”

¹¹Moreover Yahweh’s word came to me, saying, “Jeremiah, what do you see?”

¹²Then Yahweh said to me, “You have seen well; for I watch over my word to perform it.”

⁴യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു എനിക്കുണ്ടായതെന്തെന്നാൽ:

⁹പിന്നെ യഹോവ കൈ നീട്ടി എന്റെ വായെ തൊട്ടു: ഞാൻ എന്റെ വചനങ്ങളെ നിന്റെ വായിൽ തന്നിരിക്കുന്നു;

¹⁰നോക്കുക; നിർമ്മൂലമാക്കുവാനും പൊളിപ്പാനും നശിപ്പിപ്പാനും ഇടിച്ചുകളവാനും പണിവാനും നടുവാനുംവേണ്ടി ഞാൻ നിന്നെ ഇന്നു ജാതികളുടെമേലും രാജ്യങ്ങളുടെമേലും ആക്കിവെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു യഹോവ എന്നോടു കല്പിച്ചു.

¹¹യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു എനിക്കുണ്ടായി: യിരെമ്യാവേ, നീ എന്തു കാണുന്നു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. ബദാം (ജാഗ്രത്) വൃക്ഷത്തിന്റെ ഒരു കൊമ്പു കാണുന്നു എന്നു ഞാൻ പറഞ്ഞു.

¹²യഹോവ എന്നോടു: നീ കണ്ടതു ശരി തന്നേ; എന്റെ വചനം നിവർത്തിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാൻ ജാഗരിച്ചുകൊള്ളും എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

⁹You who tell good news to Zion, go up on a high mountain.

¹⁰Behold, the Lord Yahweh will come as a mighty one,

¹¹He will feed his flock like a shepherd.

¹²Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand,

¹³Who has directed Yahweh’s Spirit,

¹⁴Who did he take counsel with,

¹⁵Behold, the nations are like a drop in a bucket,

¹³യഹോവയുടെ മനസ്സു ആരാഞ്ഞറികയോ അവന്നു മന്ത്രിയായി അവനെ ഗ്രഹിപ്പിക്കയോ ചെയ്തവനാർ?

¹⁴അവനെ ഉപദേശിച്ചു ന്യായത്തിന്റെ പാതയെ പഠിപ്പിക്കയും അവനെ പരിജ്ഞാനം പഠിപ്പിച്ചു വിവേകത്തിന്റെ മാർഗ്ഗം കാണിക്കയും ചെയ്തുകൊടുക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവൻ ആരോടാകുന്നു ആലോചന കഴിച്ചതു?

¹⁹For it is commendable if someone endures pain, suffering unjustly, because of conscience toward God.

²⁰For what glory is it if, when you sin, you patiently endure beating? But if when you do well, you patiently endure suffering, this is commendable with God.

²¹For you were called to this, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving you an example, that you should follow his steps,

²²who didn’t sin, “neither was deceit found in his mouth.”

²³When he was cursed, he didn’t curse back. When he suffered, he didn’t threaten, but committed himself to him who judges righteously.

²⁴He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live to righteousness. You were healed by his wounds.

²⁵For you were going astray like sheep; but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.

¹⁹ഒരുത്തൻ ദൈവത്തെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള മനോബോധം നിമിത്തം അന്യായമായി കഷ്ടവും ദുഃഖവും സഹിച്ചാൽ അതു പ്രസാദം ആകുന്നു.

²⁰നിങ്ങൾ കുറ്റം ചെയ്തിട്ടു അടികൊള്ളുന്നതു സഹിച്ചാൽ എന്തു യശസ്സുള്ളു? അല്ല, നന്മ ചെയ്തിട്ടു കഷ്ടം സഹിച്ചാൽ അതു ദൈവത്തിന്നു പ്രസാദം.

²³തന്നെ ശകാരിച്ചിട്ടു പകരം ശകാരിക്കാതെയും കഷ്ടം അനുഭവിച്ചിട്ടു ഭീഷണം പറയാതെയും ന്യായമായി വിധിക്കുന്നവങ്കൽ കാർയ്യം ഭരമേല്പിക്കയത്രേ ചെയ്തതു.

²⁴നാം പാപം സംബന്ധിച്ചു മരിച്ചു നീതിക്കു ജീവിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവൻ തന്റെ ശരീരത്തിൽ നമ്മുടെ പാപങ്ങളെ ചുമന്നുകൊണ്ടു ക്രൂശിന്മേൽ കയറി; അവന്റെ അടിപ്പിണരാൽ നിങ്ങൾക്കു സൗഖ്യം വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.

¹You therefore, my child, be strengthened in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.

²The things which you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit the same things to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.

³You therefore must endure hardship as a good soldier of Christ Jesus.

⁴No soldier on duty entangles himself in the affairs of life, that he may please him who enrolled him as a soldier.

⁵Also, if anyone competes in athletics, he isn’t crowned unless he has competed by the rules.

⁶The farmer who labors must be the first to get a share of the crops.

⁷Consider what I say, and may the Lord give you understanding in all things.

⁸Remember Jesus Christ, risen from the dead, of the offspring of David, according to my Good News,

⁹in which I suffer hardship to the point of chains as a criminal. But God’s word isn’t chained.

¹⁰Therefore I endure all things for the chosen ones’ sake, that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.

¹¹This saying is trustworthy:

¹²If we endure,

¹³If we are faithless,

¹എന്റെ മകനേ, ക്രിസ്തുയേശുവിലുള്ള കൃപയാൽ ശക്തിപ്പെടുക.

²നീ പല സാക്ഷികളുടെ മുമ്പാകെ എന്നോടു കേട്ടതെല്ലാം മറ്റുള്ളവരെ ഉപദേശിപ്പാൻ സമർത്ഥരായ വിശ്വസ്ഥമനുഷ്യരെ ഭരമേല്പിക്ക.

⁵ഒരുത്തൻ മല്ലുകെട്ടിയാലും ചട്ടപ്രകാരം പൊരായ്കിൽ കിരീടം പ്രാപിക്കയില്ല.

⁶അദ്ധ്വാനിക്കുന്ന കൃഷിക്കാരൻ ആകുന്നു ആദ്യം ഫലം അനുഭവിക്കേണ്ടതു.

⁷ഞാൻ പറയുന്നതു ചിന്തിച്ചുകൊൾക. കർത്താവു സകലത്തിലും നിനക്കു ബുദ്ധി നലകുമല്ലോ;

⁸ദാവീദിന്റെ സന്തതിയായി ജനിച്ചു മരിച്ചിട്ടു ഉയിർത്തെഴുന്നേറ്റിരിക്കുന്ന യേശുക്രിസ്തുവിനെ ഔർത്തുകൊൾക.

⁹അതു ആകുന്നു എന്റെ സുവിശേഷം. അതു അറിയിക്കുന്നതിൽ ഞാൻ ദുഷ്പ്രവൃത്തിക്കാരൻ എന്നപോലെ ചങ്ങലധരിച്ചു കഷ്ടം സഹിക്കുന്നു; ദൈവവചനത്തിന്നോ ബന്ധനം ഇല്ല.

¹⁰അതുകൊണ്ടു ക്രിസ്തുയേശുവിലുള്ള രക്ഷ നിത്യതേജസ്സോടുകൂടെ വൃതന്മാർക്കും കിട്ടേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാൻ അവർക്കായി സകലവും സഹിക്കുന്നു.

¹¹നാം അവനോടുകൂടെ മരിച്ചു എങ്കിൽ കൂടെ ജീവിക്കും; സഹിക്കുന്നു എങ്കിൽ കൂടെ വാഴും;

¹²നാം തള്ളിപ്പറയും എങ്കിൽ അവൻ നമ്മെയും തള്ളിപ്പറയും.

¹³നാം അവിശ്വസ്തരായിത്തീർന്നാലും അവൻ വിശ്വസ്തനായി പാർക്കുംന്നു; തന്റെ സ്വഭാവം ത്യജിപ്പാൻ അവന്നു കഴികയില്ലല്ലോ; ഈ വചനം വിശ്വാസയോഗ്യമാകുന്നു.

¹⁹When therefore it was evening on that day, the first day of the week, and when the doors were locked where the disciples were assembled, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the middle and said to them, “Peace be to you.”

²⁰When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side. The disciples therefore were glad when they saw the Lord.

²¹Jesus therefore said to them again, “Peace be to you. As the Father has sent me, even so I send you.”

²²When he had said this, he breathed on them, and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit!

²³If you forgive anyone’s sins, they have been forgiven them. If you retain anyone’s sins, they have been retained.”

²⁴But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, wasn’t with them when Jesus came.

²⁵The other disciples therefore said to him, “We have seen the Lord!”

²⁶After eight days, again his disciples were inside and Thomas was with them. Jesus came, the doors being locked, and stood in the middle, and said, “Peace be to you.”

²⁷Then he said to Thomas, “Reach here your finger, and see my hands. Reach here your hand, and put it into my side. Don’t be unbelieving, but believing.”

²⁸Thomas answered him, “My Lord and my God!”

²⁹Jesus said to him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and have believed.”

³⁰Therefore Jesus did many other signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book;

³¹but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in his name.

¹⁹ആഴ്ചവട്ടത്തിന്റെ ഒന്നാം നാൾ ആയ ആ ദിവസം, നേരംവൈകിയപ്പോൾ ശിഷ്യന്മാർ ഇരുന്ന സ്ഥലത്തു യെഹൂദന്മാരെ പേടിച്ചു വാതിൽ അടെച്ചിരിക്കെ യേശു വന്നു നടുവിൽ നിന്നുകൊണ്ടു: നിങ്ങൾക്കു സമാധാനം എന്നു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

²⁷പിന്നെ തോമാസിനോടു: നിന്റെ വിരൽ ഇങ്ങോട്ടു നീട്ടി എന്റെ കൈകളെ കാൺക; നിന്റെ കൈ നീട്ടി എന്റെ വിലാപ്പുറത്തു ഇടുക; അവിശ്വാസി ആകാതെ വിശ്വാസിയായിരിക്ക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

²⁸തോമാസ് അവനോടു: എന്റെ കർത്താവും എന്റെ ദൈവവും ആയുള്ളോവേ എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

²⁹യേശു അവനോടു: നീ എന്നെ കണ്ടതുകൊണ്ടു വിശ്വസിച്ചു; കാണാതെ വിശ്വസിച്ചവർ ഭാഗ്യവാന്മാർ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

³⁰ഈ പുസ്തകത്തിൽ എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നതല്ലാതെ മറ്റു അനേകം അടയാളങ്ങളും യേശു തന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാർ കാൺകെ ചെയ്തു.

³¹എന്നാൽ യേശു ദൈവപുത്രനായ ക്രിസ്തുഎന്നു നിങ്ങൾ വിശ്വസിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും വിശ്വസിച്ചിട്ടു അവന്റെ നാമത്തിൽ നിങ്ങൾക്കു ജീവൻ ഉണ്ടാകേണ്ടതിന്നും ഇതു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നു.
