⁴⁷Most certainly, I tell you, he who believes in me has eternal life.

⁴⁸I am the bread of life.

⁴⁹Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness and they died.

⁵⁰This is the bread which comes down out of heaven, that anyone may eat of it and not die.

⁵¹I am the living bread which came down out of heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. Yes, the bread which I will give for the life of the world is my flesh.”

⁵²The Jews therefore contended with one another, saying, “How can this man give us his flesh to eat?”

⁵³Jesus therefore said to them, “Most certainly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you don’t have life in yourselves.

⁵⁴He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.

⁵⁵For my flesh is food indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.

⁵⁶He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood lives in me, and I in him.

⁵⁷As the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father, so he who feeds on me will also live because of me.

⁵⁸This is the bread which came down out of heaven—not as our fathers ate the manna and died. He who eats this bread will live forever.”

⁴⁷ആമേൻ , ആമേൻ , ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളൊടു പറയുന്നു: വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നവന്നു നിത്യജീവൻ ഉണ്ടു.

⁴⁸ഞാൻ ജീവന്റെ അപ്പം ആകുന്നു.

⁴⁹നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാർ മരുഭൂമിയിൽ മന്നാ തിന്നിട്ടും മരിച്ചുവല്ലോ.

⁵⁰ഇതോ തിന്നുന്നവൻ മരിക്കാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിൽനിന്നു ഇറങ്ങുന്ന അപ്പം ആകുന്നു.

⁵¹സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിൽനിന്നു ഇറങ്ങിയ ജീവനുള്ള അപ്പം ഞാൻ ആകുന്നു; ഈ അപ്പം തിന്നുന്നവൻ എല്ലാം എന്നേക്കും ജീവിക്കും; ഞാൻ കൊടുപ്പാനിരിക്കുന്ന അപ്പമോ ലോകത്തിന്റെ ജീവന്നു വേണ്ടി ഞാൻ കൊടുക്കുന്ന എന്റെ മാംസം ആകുന്നു.

⁵²ആകയാൽ യെഹൂദന്മാർ: നമുക്കു തന്റെ മാംസം തിന്നേണ്ടതിന്നു തരുവാൻ ഇവന്നു എങ്ങനെ കഴിയും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു തമ്മിൽ വാദിച്ചു.

⁵³യേശു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: ആമേൻ , ആമേൻ , ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു: നിങ്ങൾ മനുഷ്യപുത്രന്റെ മാംസം തിന്നാതെയും അവന്റെ രക്തം കുടിക്കാതെയും ഇരുന്നാൽ നിങ്ങൾക്കു ഉള്ളിൽ ജീവൻ ഇല്ല.

⁵⁶എന്റെ മാംസം തിന്നുകയും എന്റെ രക്തം കുടിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നവൻ എന്നിലും ഞാൻ അവനിലും വസിക്കുന്നു.

⁵⁷ജീവനുള്ള പിതാവു എന്നെ അയച്ചിട്ടു ഞാൻ പിതാവിൻ മൂലം ജീവിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ എന്നെ തിന്നുന്നവൻ എൻ മൂലം ജീവിക്കും.

²⁷After these things he went out and saw a tax collector named Levi sitting at the tax office, and said to him, “Follow me!”

²⁸He left everything, and rose up and followed him.

²⁹Levi made a great feast for him in his house. There was a great crowd of tax collectors and others who were reclining with them.

³⁰Their scribes and the Pharisees murmured against his disciples, saying, “Why do you eat and drink with the tax collectors and sinners?”

³¹Jesus answered them, “Those who are healthy have no need for a physician, but those who are sick do.

³²I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.”

³³They said to him, “Why do John’s disciples often fast and pray, likewise also the disciples of the Pharisees, but yours eat and drink?”

³⁴He said to them, “Can you make the friends of the bridegroom fast while the bridegroom is with them?

³⁵But the days will come when the bridegroom will be taken away from them. Then they will fast in those days.”

³⁶He also told a parable to them. “No one puts a piece from a new garment on an old garment, or else he will tear the new, and also the piece from the new will not match the old.

³⁷No one puts new wine into old wineskins, or else the new wine will burst the skins, and it will be spilled and the skins will be destroyed.

³⁸But new wine must be put into fresh wineskins, and both are preserved.

³⁹No man having drunk old wine immediately desires new, for he says, ‘The old is better.’ ”

²⁷അതിന്റെ ശേഷം അവൻ പുറപ്പെട്ടു, ലേവി എന്നു പേരുള്ളോരു ചുങ്കകാരൻ ചുങ്കസ്ഥലത്തു ഇരിക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു; എന്നെ അനുഗമിക്ക എന്നു അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

³¹യേശു അവരോടു: ദീനക്കാർക്കല്ലാതെ സൌഖ്യമുള്ളവർക്കും വൈദ്യനെക്കൊണ്ടു ആവശ്യമില്ല;

³²ഞാൻ നീതിമാന്മാരെ അല്ല പാപികളെ അത്രേ മാനസാന്തരത്തിന്നു വിളിപ്പാൻ വന്നിരിക്കുന്നതു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

³³അവർ അവനോടു: യോഹന്നാന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാർ കൂടക്കൂടെ ഉപവസിച്ചു പ്രാർത്ഥനകഴിച്ചുവരുന്നു; പരീശന്മാരുടെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരും അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ ചെയ്യുന്നു; നിന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരോ തിന്നുകയും കുടിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

³⁴യേശു അവരോടു: മണവാളൻ തോഴ്മക്കാരോടുകൂടെ ഉള്ളപ്പോൾ അവരെ ഉപവാസം ചെയ്യിപ്പാൻ കഴിയുമോ?

³⁵മണവാളൻ അവരെ വിട്ടുപിരിയേണ്ടുന്ന കാലം വരും; അന്നു, ആ കാലത്തു, അവർ ഉപവസിക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

³⁸പുതുവീഞ്ഞു പുതിയതുരുത്തിയിൽ അത്രേ പകർന്നുവെക്കേണ്ടതു.

³⁹പിന്നെ പഴയതു കുടിച്ചിട്ടു ആരും പുതിയതു ഉടനെ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നില്ല; പഴയതു ഏറെ നല്ലതു എന്നു പറയും.

⁴He chiseled two tablets of stone like the first; then Moses rose up early in the morning, and went up to Mount Sinai, as Yahweh had commanded him, and took in his hand two stone tablets.

⁵Yahweh descended in the cloud, and stood with him there, and proclaimed Yahweh’s name.

⁶Yahweh passed by before him, and proclaimed, “Yahweh! Yahweh, a merciful and gracious God, slow to anger, and abundant in loving kindness and truth,

⁷keeping loving kindness for thousands, forgiving iniquity and disobedience and sin; and who will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, and on the children’s children, on the third and on the fourth generation.”

⁸Moses hurried and bowed his head toward the earth, and worshiped.

⁹He said, “If now I have found favor in your sight, Lord, please let the Lord go among us, even though this is a stiff-necked people; pardon our iniquity and our sin, and take us for your inheritance.”

¹⁰He said, “Behold, I make a covenant: before all your people I will do marvels, such as have not been worked in all the earth, nor in any nation; and all the people among whom you are shall see the work of Yahweh; for it is an awesome thing that I do with you.

¹¹Observe that which I command you today. Behold, I will drive out before you the Amorite, the Canaanite, the Hittite, the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite.

¹²Be careful, lest you make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land where you are going, lest it be for a snare among you;

⁴അങ്ങനെ മോശെ മുമ്പിലത്തേവ പോലെ രണ്ടു കല്പലക ചെത്തി, അതികാലത്തു എഴുന്നേറ്റു യഹോവ തന്നോടു കല്പിച്ചതുപോല സീനായിപർവ്വതത്തിൽ കയറി; കാല്പലക രണ്ടും കയ്യിൽ എടുത്തുകൊണ്ടു പോയി:

⁶യഹോവ അവന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ കടന്നു ഘോഷിച്ചതു എന്തെന്നാൽ: യഹോവ, യഹോവയായ ദൈവം, കരുണയും കൃപയുമുള്ളവൻ ; ദീർഘക്ഷമയും മഹാദയയും വിശ്വസ്തതയുമുള്ളവൻ .

⁷ആയിരം ആയിരത്തിന്നു ദയ പാലിക്കുന്നവൻ ; അകൃത്യവും അതിക്രമവും പാപവും ക്ഷമിക്കുന്നവൻ ; കുറ്റമുള്ളവനെ വെറുതെ വിടാതെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ അകൃത്യം മക്കളുടെമേലും മക്കളുടെ മക്കളുടെമേലും മൂന്നാമത്തെയും നാലാമത്തെയും തലമുറയോളം സന്ദർശിക്കുന്നവൻ .

⁸എന്നാറെ മോശെ ബദ്ധപ്പെട്ടു സാഷ്ടാംഗം വീണു നമസ്കരിച്ചു:

¹¹ഇന്നു ഞാൻ നിന്നോടു കല്പിക്കുന്നതു സൂക്ഷിച്ചുകൊൾക; അമോർയ്യൻ , കനാന്യൻ , ഹിത്യൻ , പെരിസ്യൻ , ഹിവ്യൻ , യെബൂസ്യൻ എന്നിവരെ ഞാൻ നിന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ നിന്നു ഔടിച്ചുകളയും.

¹²നീ ചെല്ലുന്ന ദേശത്തിലെ നിവാസികളോടു നീ ഒരു ഉടമ്പടി ചെയ്യാതിരിപ്പാൻ കരുതിക്കൊൾക; അല്ലാഞ്ഞാൽ അതു നിന്റെ മദ്ധ്യേ ഒരു കണിയായിരിക്കും.

¹But in the latter days,

²Many nations will go and say,

³and he will judge between many peoples,

⁴But every man will sit under his vine and under his fig tree.

⁵Indeed all the nations may walk in the name of their gods,

⁶“In that day,” says Yahweh,

⁷and I will make that which was lame a remnant,

⁴അവർ ഔരോരുത്തൻ താന്താന്റെ മുന്തിരിവള്ളിയുടെ കീഴിലും അത്തിവൃക്ഷത്തിന്റെ കീഴിലും പാർക്കും; ആരും അവരെ ഭയപ്പെടുത്തുകയില്ല; സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയുടെ വായ് അതു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

⁵സകല ജാതികളും താന്താങ്ങളുടെ ദേവന്മാരുടെ നാമത്തിൽ നടക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ; നാമും നമ്മുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ നാമത്തിൽ എന്നും എന്നെന്നേക്കും നടക്കും.

⁸So Rabshakeh returned, and found the king of Assyria warring against Libnah, for he heard that he had departed from Lachish.

⁹He heard news concerning Tirhakah king of Ethiopia, “He has come out to fight against you.” When he heard it, he sent messengers to Hezekiah, saying,

¹⁰“Thus you shall speak to Hezekiah king of Judah, saying, ‘Don’t let your God in whom you trust deceive you, saying, “Jerusalem won’t be given into the hand of the king of Assyria.”

¹¹Behold, you have heard what the kings of Assyria have done to all lands, by destroying them utterly. Shall you be delivered?

¹²Have the gods of the nations delivered them, which my fathers have destroyed, Gozan, Haran, Rezeph, and the children of Eden who were in Telassar?

¹³Where is the king of Hamath, and the king of Arpad, and the king of the city of Sepharvaim, of Hena, and Ivvah?’ ”

¹⁴Hezekiah received the letter from the hand of the messengers and read it. Then Hezekiah went up to Yahweh’s house, and spread it before Yahweh.

¹⁵Hezekiah prayed to Yahweh, saying,

¹⁶“Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel, who is enthroned among the cherubim, you are the God, even you alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth. You have made heaven and earth.

¹⁷Turn your ear, Yahweh, and hear. Open your eyes, Yahweh, and behold. Hear all of the words of Sennacherib, who has sent to defy the living God.

⁸രബ്-ശാക്കേ മടങ്ങിച്ചെന്നു അശ്ശൂർരാജാവു ലിബ്നയുടെ നേരെ യുദ്ധം ചെയ്യുന്നതു കണ്ടു; അവൻ ലാക്കീശ് വിട്ടുപോയി എന്നു അവൻ കേട്ടിരുന്നു.

¹⁰നിങ്ങൾ യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ ഹിസ്കീയാവോടു പറയേണ്ടതു: യെരൂശലേം അശ്ശൂർരാജാവിന്റെ കയ്യിൽ ഏല്പിച്ചുകളകയില്ല എന്നു നീ ആശ്രയിക്കുന്ന നിന്റെ ദൈവം നിന്നെ ചതിക്കരുതു.

¹¹അശ്ശൂർരാജാക്കന്മാർ സകലദേശങ്ങളോടും ചെയ്തതും അവേക്കു ഉന്മൂലനാശം വരുത്തിയതും നീ കേട്ടിട്ടുണ്ടല്ലോ; നീ വിടുവിക്കപ്പെടുമോ?

¹²ഗോസാൻ , ഹാരാൻ , രേസെഫ, തെലസ്സാരിലെ ഏദേന്യർ എന്നിങ്ങനെ എന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാർ നശിപ്പിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞ ജാതികളുടെ ദേവന്മാർ അവരെ വിടുവിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടോ?

¹³ഹമാത്ത് രാജാവും അർപ്പാദ്‍രാജാവും സെഫർവ്വയീംപട്ടണം, ഹേന, ഇവ്വ എന്നിവേക്കു രാജാവായിരുന്നവനും എവിടെ?

¹⁴ഹിസ്കീയാവു ദൂതന്മാരുടെ കയ്യിൽനിന്നു എഴുത്തുവാങ്ങി വായിച്ചു; ഹിസ്കീയാവു യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിൽ ചെന്നു യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയിൽ അതു വിടർത്തു.

¹⁵ഹിസ്കീയാവു യഹോവയോടു പ്രാർത്ഥിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞതെന്തെന്നാൽ:

¹⁶യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായി കെരൂബുകളുടെ മീതെ അധിവസിക്കുന്നവനായ സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവേ, നീ ഒരുത്തൻ മാത്രം ഭൂമിയിലെ സർവ്വരാജ്യങ്ങൾക്കും ദൈവമാകുന്നു; നീ ആകാശത്തെയും ഭൂമിയെയും ഉണ്ടാക്കി.

¹⁷യഹോവേ, ചെവി ചായിച്ചു കേൾക്കേണമേ; യഹോവേ, തൃക്കണ്ണു തുറന്നു നോക്കേണമേ; ജീവനുള്ള ദൈവത്തെ നിന്ദിപ്പാൻ ആളയച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന സൻ ഹേരീബിന്റെ വാക്കു ഒക്കെയും കേൾക്കേണമേ.

¹³These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.

¹⁴This is the boldness which we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us.

¹⁵And if we know that he listens to us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions which we have asked of him.

¹⁶If anyone sees his brother sinning a sin not leading to death, he shall ask, and God will give him life for those who sin not leading to death. There is sin leading to death. I don’t say that he should make a request concerning this.

¹⁷All unrighteousness is sin, and there is sin not leading to death.

¹⁸We know that whoever is born of God doesn’t sin, but he who was born of God keeps himself, and the evil one doesn’t touch him.

¹⁹We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies in the power of the evil one.

²⁰We know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding, that we know him who is true; and we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.

²¹Little children, keep yourselves from idols.

¹³ദൈവപുത്രന്റെ നാമത്തിൽ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്ന നിങ്ങൾക്കു ഞാൻ ഇതു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നതു നിങ്ങൾക്കു നിത്യജീവൻ ഉണ്ടെന്നു നിങ്ങൾ അറിയേണ്ടതിന്നു തന്നേ.

¹⁴അവന്റെ ഇഷ്ടപ്രകാരം നാം എന്തെങ്കിലും അപേക്ഷിച്ചാൽ അവൻ നമ്മുടെ അപേക്ഷ കേൾക്കുന്നു എന്നുള്ളതു നമുക്കു അവനോടുള്ള ധൈൎയ്യം ആകുന്നു.

¹⁵നാം എന്തു അപേക്ഷിച്ചാലും അവൻ നമ്മുടെ അപേക്ഷ കേൾക്കുന്നു എന്നറിയുന്നുവെങ്കിൽ അവനോടു കഴിച്ച അപേക്ഷ നമുക്കു ലഭിച്ചു എന്നും അറിയുന്നു.

¹⁶സഹോദരൻ മരണത്തിന്നല്ലാത്ത പാപം ചെയ്യുന്നതു ആരെങ്കിലും കണ്ടാൽ അപേക്ഷിക്കാം; ദൈവം അവന്നു ജീവനെ കൊടുക്കും; മരണത്തിന്നല്ലാത്ത പാപം ചെയ്യുന്നവൎക്കു തന്നേ; മരണത്തിന്നുള്ള പാപം ഉണ്ടു; അതിനെക്കുറിച്ചു അപേക്ഷിക്കേണം എന്നു ഞാൻ പറയുന്നില്ല.

¹⁷ഏതു അനീതിയും പാപം ആകുന്നു; മരണത്തിന്നല്ലാത്ത പാപം ഉണ്ടു താനും.

¹⁸ദൈവത്തിൽനിന്നു ജനിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നവൻ ആരും പാപം ചെയ്യുന്നില്ല എന്നും നാം അറിയുന്നു; ദൈവത്തിൽനിന്നു ജനിച്ചവൻ തന്നെത്താൻ സൂക്ഷിക്കുന്നു; ദുഷ്ടൻ അവനെ തൊടുന്നതുമില്ല.

¹⁹നാം ദൈവത്തിൽനിന്നുള്ളവർ എന്നു നാം അറിയുന്നു. സൎവ്വലോകവും ദുഷ്ടന്റെ അധീനതയിൽ കിടക്കുന്നു.

²⁰ദൈവപുത്രൻ വന്നു എന്നും സത്യദൈവത്തെ അറിവാൻ നമുക്കു വിവേകം തന്നു എന്നും നാം അറിയുന്നു; നാം സത്യദൈവത്തിൽ അവന്റെ പുത്രനായ യേശുക്രിസ്തുവിൽ തന്നേ ആകുന്നു. അവൻ സത്യദൈവവും നിത്യജീവനും ആകുന്നു.

²¹കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളേ, വിഗ്രഹങ്ങളോടു അകന്നു സൂക്ഷിച്ചുകൊൾവിൻ.

³By faith we understand that the universe has been framed by the word of God, so that what is seen has not been made out of things which are visible.

⁴By faith Abel offered to God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, through which he had testimony given to him that he was righteous, God testifying with respect to his gifts; and through it he, being dead, still speaks.

⁵By faith Enoch was taken away, so that he wouldn’t see death, and he was not found, because God translated him. For he has had testimony given to him that before his translation he had been well pleasing to God.

⁶Without faith it is impossible to be well pleasing to him, for he who comes to God must believe that he exists, and that he is a rewarder of those who seek him.

³ഈ കാണുന്ന ലോകത്തിന്നു ദൃശ്യമായതല്ല കാരണം എന്നു വരുമാറു ലോകം ദൈവത്തിന്റെ വചനത്താൽ നിർമ്മിക്കപ്പെട്ടു എന്നു നാം വിശ്വാസത്താൽ അറിയുന്നു.

⁴വിശ്വാസത്താൽ ഹാബേൽ ദൈവത്തിന്നു കയീന്റേതിലും ഉത്തമമായ യാഗം കഴിച്ചു; അതിനാൽ അവന്നു നീതിമാൻ എന്ന സാക്ഷ്യം ലഭിച്ചു; ദൈവം അവന്റെ വഴിപാടിന്നു സാക്ഷ്യം കല്പിച്ചു. മരിച്ചശേഷവും അവൻ വിശ്വാസത്താൽ സംസാരിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.

⁵വിശ്വാസത്താൽ ഹനോൿ മരണം കാണാതെ എടുക്കപ്പെട്ടു; ദൈവം അവനെ എടുത്തുകൊണ്ടതിനാൽ കാണാതെയായി. അവൻ ദൈവത്തെ പ്രസാദിപ്പിച്ചു എന്നു അവൻ എടുക്കപ്പെട്ടതിന്നു മുമ്പെ സാക്ഷ്യം പ്രാപിച്ചു.

⁶എന്നാൽ വിശ്വാസം കൂടാതെ ദൈവത്തെ പ്രസാദിപ്പിപ്പാൻ കഴിയുന്നതല്ല; ദൈവത്തിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വരുന്നവൻ ദൈവം ഉണ്ടു എന്നും തന്നെ അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നവർക്കും പ്രതിഫലം കൊടുക്കുന്നു എന്നും വിശ്വസിക്കേണ്ടതല്ലോ.

¹³Behold, two of them were going that very day to a village named Emmaus, which was sixty stadia from Jerusalem.

¹⁴They talked with each other about all of these things which had happened.

¹⁵While they talked and questioned together, Jesus himself came near, and went with them.

¹⁶But their eyes were kept from recognizing him.

¹⁷He said to them, “What are you talking about as you walk, and are sad?”

¹⁸One of them, named Cleopas, answered him, “Are you the only stranger in Jerusalem who doesn’t know the things which have happened there in these days?”

¹⁹He said to them, “What things?”

²⁰and how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him up to be condemned to death, and crucified him.

²¹But we were hoping that it was he who would redeem Israel. Yes, and besides all this, it is now the third day since these things happened.

²²Also, certain women of our company amazed us, having arrived early at the tomb;

²³and when they didn’t find his body, they came saying that they had also seen a vision of angels, who said that he was alive.

²⁴Some of us went to the tomb and found it just like the women had said, but they didn’t see him.”

²⁵He said to them, “Foolish people, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken!

²⁶Didn’t the Christ have to suffer these things and to enter into his glory?”

²⁷Beginning from Moses and from all the prophets, he explained to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself.

²⁸They came near to the village where they were going, and he acted like he would go further.

²⁹They urged him, saying, “Stay with us, for it is almost evening, and the day is almost over.”

³⁰When he had sat down at the table with them, he took the bread and gave thanks. Breaking it, he gave it to them.

³¹Their eyes were opened and they recognized him; then he vanished out of their sight.

³²They said to one another, “Weren’t our hearts burning within us while he spoke to us along the way, and while he opened the Scriptures to us?”

³³They rose up that very hour, returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven gathered together, and those who were with them,

³⁴saying, “The Lord is risen indeed, and has appeared to Simon!”

³⁵They related the things that happened along the way, and how he was recognized by them in the breaking of the bread.

¹³അന്നു തന്നേ അവരിൽ രണ്ടുപേർ യെരൂശലേമിൽനിന്നു ഏഴു നാഴിക ദൂരമുള്ള എമ്മവുസ്സ് എന്ന ഗ്രാമത്തിലേക്കു പോകയിൽ

¹⁴ഈ സംഭവിച്ചതിനെക്കുറിച്ചു ഒക്കെയും തമ്മിൽ സംസാരിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

¹⁵സംസാരിച്ചും തർക്കിച്ചും കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ യേശു താനും അടുത്തുചെന്നു അവരോടു ചേർന്നു നടന്നു.

¹⁶അവനെ അറിയാതവണ്ണം അവരുടെ കണ്ണു നിരോധിച്ചിരുന്നു.

¹⁷അവൻ അവരോടു: നിങ്ങൾ വഴിനടന്നു തമ്മിൽ വാദിക്കുന്ന ഈ കാര്യം എന്തു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു; അവർ വാടിയ മുഖത്തോടെ നിന്നു.

¹⁸ക്ളെയൊപ്പാവു എന്നു പേരുള്ളവൻ ; യെരൂശലേമിലെ പരദേശികളിൽ നീ മാത്രം ഈ നാളുകളിൽ അവിടെ സംഭവിച്ച കാര്യം അറിയാതിരിക്കുന്നുവോ എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

¹⁹ഏതു എന്നു അവൻ അവരോടു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു അവർ അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: ദൈവത്തിന്നും സകലജനത്തിനും മുമ്പാകെ പ്രവൃത്തിയിലും വാക്കിലും ശക്തിയുള്ള പ്രവാചകനായിരുന്ന നസറായനായ യേശുവിനെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ളതു തന്നേ.

²⁰നമ്മുടെ മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാരും പ്രമാണികളും അവനെ മരണവിധിക്കു ഏല്പിച്ചു ക്രൂശിച്ചു.

²¹ഞങ്ങളോ അവൻ യിസ്രായേലിനെ വീണ്ടെടുപ്പാനുള്ളവൻ എന്നു ആശിച്ചിരുന്നു; അത്രയുമല്ല, ഇതു സംഭവിച്ചിട്ടു ഇന്നു മൂന്നാം നാൾ ആകുന്നു.

²²ഞങ്ങളുടെ കൂട്ടത്തിൽ ചില സ്ത്രീകൾ രാവിലെ കല്ലറെക്കൽ പോയി

²³അവന്റെ ശരീരം കാണാതെ മടങ്ങിവന്നു അവൻ ജീവിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞ ദൂതന്മാരുടെ ദർശനം കണ്ടു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു ഞങ്ങളെ ഭ്രമിപ്പിച്ചു.

²⁴ഞങ്ങളുടെ കൂട്ടത്തിൽ ചിലർ കല്ലറക്കൽ ചെന്നു സ്ത്രീകൾ പറഞ്ഞതുപോലെ തന്നേ കണ്ടു; അവനെ കണ്ടില്ലതാനും.

²⁵അവൻ അവരോടു: അയ്യോ, ബുദ്ധിഹീനരേ, പ്രവാചകന്മാർ പറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നതു എല്ലാം വിശ്വസിക്കാത്ത മന്ദബുദ്ധികളേ,

²⁶ക്രിസ്തു ഇങ്ങനെ കഷ്ടം അനുഭവിച്ചിട്ടു തന്റെ മഹത്വത്തിൽ കടക്കേണ്ടതല്ലയോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

²⁷മോശെ തുടങ്ങി സകലപ്രവാചകന്മാരിൽ നിന്നും എല്ലാതിരുവെഴുത്തുകളിലും തന്നെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ളതു അവർക്കും വ്യാഖ്യാനിച്ചുകൊടുത്തു.

²⁸അവർ പോകുന്ന ഗ്രാമത്തോടു അടുത്തപ്പോൾ അവൻ മുമ്പോട്ടു പോകുന്ന ഭാവം കാണിച്ചു.

²⁹അവരോ: ഞങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ പാർക്കുംക; നേരം വൈകി അസ്തമിപ്പാറായല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവനെ നിർബന്ധിച്ചു; അവൻ അവരോടുകൂടെ പാർപ്പാൻ ചെന്നു.

³⁰അവരുമായി ഭക്ഷണത്തിന്നു ഇരിക്കുമ്പോൾ അവൻ അപ്പം എടുത്തു അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു നുറുക്കി അവർക്കുംകൊടുത്തു.

³¹ഉടനെ അവരുടെ കണ്ണു തുറന്നു അവർ അവനെ അറിഞ്ഞു; അവൻ അവർക്കും അപ്രത്യക്ഷനായി

³²അവൻ വഴിയിൽ നമ്മോടു സംസാരിച്ചു തിരുവെഴുത്തുകളെ തെളിയിക്കുമ്പോൾ നമ്മുടെ ഹൃദയം നമ്മുടെ ഉള്ളിൽ കത്തിക്കൊണ്ടിരുന്നില്ലയോ എന്നു അവർ തമ്മിൽ പറഞ്ഞു.

³³ആ നാഴികയിൽ തന്നേ അവർ എഴുന്നേറ്റു യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിപ്പോന്നു.

³⁴കർത്താവു വാസ്തവമായി ഉയിർത്തെഴുന്നേറ്റു ശിമോന്നു പ്രത്യക്ഷനായി എന്നു കൂടിയിരുന്നു പറയുന്ന പതിനൊരുവരെയും കൂടെയുള്ളവരെയും കണ്ടു.

³⁵വഴിയിൽ സംഭവിച്ചതും അവൻ അപ്പം നുറുക്കുകയിൽ തങ്ങൾക്കു അറിയായ്‍വന്നതും അവർ വിവരിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.
