³⁶As they said these things, Jesus himself stood among them, and said to them, “Peace be to you.”

³⁷But they were terrified and filled with fear, and supposed that they had seen a spirit.

³⁸He said to them, “Why are you troubled? Why do doubts arise in your hearts?

³⁹See my hands and my feet, that it is truly me. Touch me and see, for a spirit doesn’t have flesh and bones, as you see that I have.”

⁴⁰When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his feet.

⁴¹While they still didn’t believe for joy, and wondered, he said to them, “Do you have anything here to eat?”

⁴²They gave him a piece of a broiled fish and some honeycomb.

⁴³He took them, and ate in front of them.

⁴⁴He said to them, “This is what I told you while I was still with you, that all things which are written in the law of Moses, the prophets, and the psalms concerning me must be fulfilled.”

⁴⁵Then he opened their minds, that they might understand the Scriptures.

⁴⁶He said to them, “Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day,

⁴⁷and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name to all the nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

⁴⁸You are witnesses of these things.

⁴⁹Behold, I send out the promise of my Father on you. But wait in the city of Jerusalem until you are clothed with power from on high.”

⁵⁰He led them out as far as Bethany, and he lifted up his hands and blessed them.

⁵¹While he blessed them, he withdrew from them and was carried up into heaven.

⁵²They worshiped him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy,

⁵³and were continually in the temple, praising and blessing God. Amen.

¹⁴Afterward he was revealed to the eleven themselves as they sat at the table; and he rebuked them for their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they didn’t believe those who had seen him after he had risen.

¹⁵He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to the whole creation.

¹⁶He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who disbelieves will be condemned.

¹⁷These signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new languages;

¹⁸they will take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it will in no way hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

¹⁹So then the Lord, after he had spoken to them, was received up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God.

²⁰They went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word by the signs that followed. Amen.

²⁶I prayed to Yahweh, and said, “Lord Yahweh, don’t destroy your people and your inheritance that you have redeemed through your greatness, that you have brought out of Egypt with a mighty hand.

²⁷Remember your servants, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Don’t look at the stubbornness of this people, nor at their wickedness, nor at their sin,

²⁸lest the land you brought us out from say, ‘Because Yahweh was not able to bring them into the land which he promised to them, and because he hated them, he has brought them out to kill them in the wilderness.’

²⁹Yet they are your people and your inheritance, which you brought out by your great power and by your outstretched arm.”

¹At that time Yahweh said to me, “Cut two stone tablets like the first, and come up to me onto the mountain, and make an ark of wood.

²I will write on the tablets the words that were on the first tablets which you broke, and you shall put them in the ark.”

³So I made an ark of acacia wood, and cut two stone tablets like the first, and went up onto the mountain, having the two tablets in my hand.

⁴He wrote on the tablets, according to the first writing, the ten commandments, which Yahweh spoke to you on the mountain out of the middle of the fire in the day of the assembly; and Yahweh gave them to me.

⁵I turned and came down from the mountain, and put the tablets in the ark which I had made; and there they are as Yahweh commanded me.

¹അക്കാലത്തു യഹോവ എന്നോടു: നീ മുമ്പിലത്തെപോലെ രണ്ടു കല്പലക വെട്ടിയെടുത്തു എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ പർവ്വതത്തിൽ കയറിവരിക; മരംകൊണ്ടു ഒരു പെട്ടകവും ഉണ്ടാക്കുക.

³¹“Behold, the days come,” says Yahweh, “that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah,

³²not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, which covenant of mine they broke, although I was a husband to them,” says Yahweh.

³³“But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days,” says Yahweh:

³⁴They will no longer each teach his neighbor,

³¹ഞാൻ യിസ്രായേൽഗൃഹത്തോടും യെഹൂദാഗൃഹത്തോടും പുതിയോരു നിയമം ചെയ്യുന്ന കാലം വരും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

⁹When they had gone over, Elijah said to Elisha, “Ask what I shall do for you, before I am taken from you.”

¹⁰He said, “You have asked a hard thing. If you see me when I am taken from you, it will be so for you; but if not, it will not be so.”

¹¹As they continued on and talked, behold, a chariot of fire and horses of fire separated them; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.

¹²Elisha saw it, and he cried, “My father, my father, the chariots of Israel and its horsemen!”

¹³He also took up Elijah’s mantle that fell from him, and went back and stood by the bank of the Jordan.

¹⁴He took Elijah’s mantle that fell from him, and struck the waters, and said, “Where is Yahweh, the God of Elijah?” When he also had struck the waters, they were divided apart, and Elisha went over.

¹⁵When the sons of the prophets who were at Jericho facing him saw him, they said, “The spirit of Elijah rests on Elisha.” They came to meet him, and bowed themselves to the ground before him.

²¹They didn’t thirst when he led them through the deserts.

²²“There is no peace”, says Yahweh, “for the wicked.”

¹Listen, islands, to me.

²He has made my mouth like a sharp sword.

³He said to me, “You are my servant,

⁴But I said, “I have labored in vain.

⁴Being assembled together with them, he commanded them, “Don’t depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which you heard from me.

⁵For John indeed baptized in water, but you will be baptized in the Holy Spirit not many days from now.”

⁶Therefore, when they had come together, they asked him, “Lord, are you now restoring the kingdom to Israel?”

⁷He said to them, “It isn’t for you to know times or seasons which the Father has set within his own authority.

⁸But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you. You will be witnesses to me in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the uttermost parts of the earth.”

⁹When he had said these things, as they were looking, he was taken up, and a cloud received him out of their sight.

¹⁰While they were looking steadfastly into the sky as he went, behold, two men stood by them in white clothing,

¹¹who also said, “You men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into the sky? This Jesus, who was received up from you into the sky, will come back in the same way as you saw him going into the sky.”

⁸എന്നാൽ പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവു നിങ്ങളുടെ മേൽ വരുമ്പോൾ നിങ്ങൾ ശക്തി ലഭിച്ചിട്ടു യെരൂശലേമിലും യെഹൂദ്യയിൽ എല്ലാടത്തും ശമര്യയിലും ഭൂമിയുടെ അറ്റത്തോളവും എന്റെ സാക്ഷികൾ ആകും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

⁹ഇതു പറഞ്ഞശേഷം അവർ കാൺകെ അവൻ ആരോഹണം ചെയ്തു; ഒരു മേഘം അവനെ മൂടീട്ടു അവൻ അവരുടെ കാഴ്ചെക്കു മറഞ്ഞു.

¹⁰അവൻ പോകുന്നേരം അവർ ആകാശത്തിലേക്കു ഉറ്റുനോക്കുമ്പോൾ വെള്ള വസ്ത്രം ധരിച്ച രണ്ടു പുരുഷന്മാർ അവരുടെ അടുക്കൽനിന്നു:

¹¹ഗലീലാപുരുഷന്മാരേ, നിങ്ങൾ ആകാശത്തിലേക്കു നോക്കിനിലക്കുന്നതു എന്തു? നിങ്ങളെ വിട്ടു സ്വർഗ്ഗാരോഹണം ചെയ്ത ഈ യേശുവിനെ സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിലേക്കു പോകുന്നവനായി നിങ്ങൾ കണ്ടതുപോലെ തന്നേ അവൻ വീണ്ടും വരും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

¹I therefore, the prisoner in the Lord, beg you to walk worthily of the calling with which you were called,

²with all lowliness and humility, with patience, bearing with one another in love,

³being eager to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

⁴There is one body and one Spirit, even as you also were called in one hope of your calling,

⁵one Lord, one faith, one baptism,

⁶one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in us all.

⁷But to each one of us, the grace was given according to the measure of the gift of Christ.

⁸Therefore he says,

⁹Now this, “He ascended”, what is it but that he also first descended into the lower parts of the earth?

¹⁰He who descended is the one who also ascended far above all the heavens, that he might fill all things.

¹¹He gave some to be apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, shepherds and teachers;

¹²for the perfecting of the saints, to the work of serving, to the building up of the body of Christ,

¹³until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a full grown man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ,

¹⁴that we may no longer be children, tossed back and forth and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in craftiness, after the wiles of error;

¹⁵but speaking truth in love, we may grow up in all things into him who is the head, Christ,

¹⁶from whom all the body, being fitted and knit together through that which every joint supplies, according to the working in measure of each individual part, makes the body increase to the building up of itself in love.

¹കർത്തൃസേവനിമിത്തം ബദ്ധനായിരിക്കുന്ന ഞാൻ പ്രബോധിപ്പിക്കുന്നതു: നിങ്ങളെ വിളിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന വിളിക്കു യോഗ്യമാംവണ്ണം

⁴നിങ്ങളെ വിളിച്ചപ്പോൾ ഏകപ്രത്യാശെക്കായി നിങ്ങളെ വിളിച്ചതുപോലെ ശരീരം ഒന്നു, ആത്മാവു ഒന്നു,

⁵കർത്താവു ഒരുവൻ , വിശ്വാസം ഒന്നു, സ്നാനം ഒന്നു, എല്ലാവർക്കും മീതെയുള്ളവനും

⁶എല്ലാവരിലും കൂടി വ്യാപരിക്കുന്നവനും എല്ലാവരിലും ഇരിക്കുന്നവനുമായി എല്ലാവർക്കും ദൈവവും പിതാവുമായവൻ ഒരുവൻ .

⁷എന്നാൽ നമ്മിൽ ഔരോരുത്തന്നു ക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ ദാനത്തിന്റെ അളവിന്നു ഒത്തവണ്ണം കൃപ ലഭിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

⁸അതുകൊണ്ടു: “അവൻ ബദ്ധന്മാരെ പിടിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു പോയി ഉയരത്തിൽ കയറി മനുഷ്യർക്കും ദാനങ്ങളെ കൊടുത്തു” എന്നു പറയുന്നു.

⁹കയറി എന്നതിനാൽ അവൻ ഭൂമിയുടെ അധോഭാഗങ്ങളിലേക്കു ഇറങ്ങി എന്നു വരുന്നില്ലയോ?

¹⁰ഇറങ്ങിയവൻ സകലത്തെയും നിറെക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു സ്വർഗ്ഗാധിസ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിന്നു മീതെ കയറിയവനും ആകുന്നു.

¹¹അവൻ ചിലരെ അപ്പൊസ്തലന്മാരായും ചിലരെ പ്രവാചകന്മാരായും ചിലരെ സുവിശേഷകന്മാരായും ചിലരെ ഇടയന്മാരായും ഉപദേഷ്ടാക്കന്മാരായും നിയമിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു;

¹²അതു നാം എല്ലാവരും വിശ്വാസത്തിലും ദൈവപുത്രനെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള പരിജ്ഞാനത്തിലുമുള്ള ഐക്യതയും തികഞ്ഞ പുരുഷത്വവും ക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ സമ്പൂർണ്ണതയായ പ്രായത്തിന്റെ അളവും പ്രാപിക്കുവോളം

¹³വിശുദ്ധന്മാരുടെ യഥാസ്ഥാനത്തിന്നായുള്ള ശുശ്രൂഷയുടെ വേലെക്കും ക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ ശരീരത്തിന്റെ ആത്മികവർദ്ധനെക്കും ആകുന്നു.

¹⁴അങ്ങനെ നാം ഇനി മനുഷ്യരുടെ ചതിയാലും ഉപായത്താലും തെറ്റിച്ചുകളയുന്ന തന്ത്രങ്ങളിൽ കുടുങ്ങിപ്പോകുവാൻ തക്കവണ്ണം ഉപദേശത്തിന്റെ ഔരോ കാറ്റിനാൽ അലഞ്ഞുഴലുന്ന ശിശുക്കൾ ആയിരിക്കാതെ

¹⁵സ്നേഹത്തിൽ സത്യം സംസാരിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു ക്രിസ്തു എന്ന തലയോളം സകലത്തിലും വളരുവാൻ ഇടയാകും.

¹⁶ശരീരം മുഴുവനും യുക്തമായി ചേർന്നും ഏകീഭവിച്ചും ഔരോ അംഗത്തിന്റെ അതതു വ്യാപാരത്തിന്നു ഒത്തവണ്ണം ഉതവി ലഭിപ്പാനുള്ള ഏതു സന്ധിയാലും സ്നേഹത്തിലുള്ള വർദ്ധനെക്കായി അവനിൽ നിന്നു വളർച്ച പ്രാപിക്കുന്നു.

³⁶As they said these things, Jesus himself stood among them, and said to them, “Peace be to you.”

³⁷But they were terrified and filled with fear, and supposed that they had seen a spirit.

³⁸He said to them, “Why are you troubled? Why do doubts arise in your hearts?

³⁹See my hands and my feet, that it is truly me. Touch me and see, for a spirit doesn’t have flesh and bones, as you see that I have.”

⁴⁰When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his feet.

⁴¹While they still didn’t believe for joy, and wondered, he said to them, “Do you have anything here to eat?”

⁴²They gave him a piece of a broiled fish and some honeycomb.

⁴³He took them, and ate in front of them.

⁴⁴He said to them, “This is what I told you while I was still with you, that all things which are written in the law of Moses, the prophets, and the psalms concerning me must be fulfilled.”

⁴⁵Then he opened their minds, that they might understand the Scriptures.

⁴⁶He said to them, “Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day,

⁴⁷and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name to all the nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

⁴⁸You are witnesses of these things.

⁴⁹Behold, I send out the promise of my Father on you. But wait in the city of Jerusalem until you are clothed with power from on high.”

⁵⁰He led them out as far as Bethany, and he lifted up his hands and blessed them.

⁵¹While he blessed them, he withdrew from them and was carried up into heaven.

⁵²They worshiped him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy,

⁵³and were continually in the temple, praising and blessing God. Amen.

³⁶ഇങ്ങനെ അവർ സംസാരിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ അവൻ അവരുടെ നടുവിൽ നിന്നു: (നിങ്ങൾക്കു സമാധാനം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.)

³⁷അവർ ഞെട്ടി ഭയപ്പെട്ടു; ഒരു ഭൂതത്തെ കാണുന്നു എന്നു അവർക്കും തോന്നി.

³⁸അവൻ അവരോടു നിങ്ങൾ കലങ്ങുന്നതു എന്തു? നിങ്ങളുടെ ഹൃദയത്തിൽ സംശയം പൊങ്ങുന്നതും എന്തു?

³⁹ഞാൻ തന്നെ ആകുന്നു എന്നു എന്റെ കയ്യും കാലും നോക്കി അറിവിൻ ; എന്നെ തൊട്ടുനോക്കുവിൻ ; എന്നിൽ കാണുന്നതുപോലെ ഭൂതത്തിന്നു മാംസവും അസ്ഥിയും ഇല്ലല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

⁴⁰(ഇങ്ങനെ പറഞ്ഞിട്ടു അവൻ കയ്യും കാലും അവരെ കാണിച്ചു.)

⁴¹അവർ സന്തോഷത്താൽ വിശ്വസിക്കാതെ അതിശയിച്ചു നിലക്കുമ്പോൾ അവരോടു: തിന്നുവാൻ വല്ലതും ഇവിടെ നിങ്ങളുടെ പക്കൽ ഉണ്ടോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

⁴²അവർ ഒരു ഖണ്ഡം വറുത്ത മീനും (തേൻ കട്ടയും) അവന്നു കൊടുത്തു.

⁴³അതു അവൻ വാങ്ങി അവർ കാൺകെ തിന്നു.

⁴⁴പിന്നെ അവൻ അവരോടു: ഇതാകുന്നു നിങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ ഇരിക്കുമ്പോൾ ഞാൻ പറഞ്ഞ വാക്കു. മോശെയുടെ ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിലും പ്രവാചകപുസ്തകങ്ങളിലും സങ്കീർത്തനങ്ങളിലും എന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നതു ഒക്കെയും നിവൃത്തിയാകേണം എന്നുള്ളതു തന്നേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു തിരുവെഴുത്തുകളെ തിരിച്ചറിയേണ്ടതിന്നു അവരുടെ ബുദ്ധിയെ തുറന്നു.

⁴⁵ക്രിസ്തു കഷ്ടം അനുഭവിക്കയും മൂന്നാം നാൾ മരിച്ചവരിൽ നിന്നു ഉയിർത്തെഴുന്നേൽക്കയും അവന്റെ നാമത്തിൽ മാനസാന്തരവും പാപമോചനവും യെരൂശലേമിൽ തുടങ്ങി സകലജാതികളിലും പ്രസംഗിക്കയും വേണം എന്നിങ്ങനെ എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

⁴⁶ഇതിന്നു നിങ്ങൾ സാക്ഷികൾ ആകുന്നു.

⁴⁷എന്റെ പിതാവു വാഗ്ദത്തം ചെയ്തതിനെ ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ മേൽ അയക്കും. നിങ്ങളോ ഉയരത്തിൽനിന്നു ശക്തി ധരിക്കുവോളം നഗരത്തിൽ പാർപ്പിൻ എന്നും അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

⁴⁸അനന്തരം അവൻ അവരെ ബേഥാന്യയോളം കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടുപോയി കൈ ഉയർത്തി അവരെ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു.

⁴⁹അവരെ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കയിൽ അവൻ അവരെ വിട്ടു പിരിഞ്ഞു (സ്വർഗ്ഗാരോഹണം ചെയ്തു).

⁵⁰അവർ (അവനെ നമസ്ക്കുരിച്ചു) മഹാസന്തോഷത്തോടെ യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിച്ചെന്നു എല്ലായ്പോഴും ദൈവലായത്തിൽ ഇരുന്നു ദൈവത്തെ വാഴ്ത്തിപ്പോന്നു.
