²⁰Remember the word that I said to you: ‘A servant is not greater than his lord.’ If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept my word, they will also keep yours.

²¹But they will do all these things to you for my name’s sake, because they don’t know him who sent me.

²²If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not have had sin; but now they have no excuse for their sin.

²³He who hates me, hates my Father also.

²⁴If I hadn’t done among them the works which no one else did, they wouldn’t have had sin. But now they have seen and also hated both me and my Father.

²⁵But this happened so that the word may be fulfilled which was written in their law, ‘They hated me without a cause.’

²⁰ദാസൻ യജമാനനെക്കാൾ വലിയവനല്ല എന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറഞ്ഞ വാക്കു ഔർപ്പിൻ . അവർ എന്നെ ഉപദ്രവിച്ചു എങ്കിൽ നിങ്ങളെയും ഉപദ്രവിക്കും; എന്റെ വചനം പ്രമാണിച്ചു എങ്കിൽ നിങ്ങളുടേതും പ്രമാണിക്കും.

¹⁵If you love me, keep my commandments.

¹⁶I will pray to the Father, and he will give you another Counselor, that he may be with you forever:

¹⁷the Spirit of truth, whom the world can’t receive, for it doesn’t see him and doesn’t know him. You know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.

¹⁸I will not leave you orphans. I will come to you.

¹⁹Yet a little while, and the world will see me no more; but you will see me. Because I live, you will live also.

²⁰In that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you.

²¹One who has my commandments and keeps them, that person is one who loves me. One who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him, and will reveal myself to him.”

²²Judas (not Iscariot) said to him, “Lord, what has happened that you are about to reveal yourself to us, and not to the world?”

²³Jesus answered him, “If a man loves me, he will keep my word. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.

²⁴He who doesn’t love me doesn’t keep my words. The word which you hear isn’t mine, but the Father’s who sent me.

²⁵“I have said these things to you while still living with you.

²⁶But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things, and will remind you of all that I said to you.

²⁷Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, I give to you. Don’t let your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful.

²⁸You heard how I told you, ‘I am going away, and I will come back to you.’ If you loved me, you would have rejoiced because I said ‘I am going to my Father;’ for the Father is greater than I.

²⁹Now I have told you before it happens so that when it happens, you may believe.

³⁰I will no more speak much with you, for the prince of the world comes, and he has nothing in me.

³¹But that the world may know that I love the Father, and as the Father commanded me, even so I do. Arise, let’s go from here.

¹⁵നിങ്ങൾ എന്നെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നു എങ്കിൽ എന്റെ കല്പനകളെ കാത്തുകൊള്ളും.

¹⁶Yahweh said to Moses, “Gather to me seventy men of the elders of Israel, whom you know to be the elders of the people and officers over them; and bring them to the Tent of Meeting, that they may stand there with you.

¹⁷I will come down and talk with you there. I will take of the Spirit which is on you, and will put it on them; and they shall bear the burden of the people with you, that you don’t bear it yourself alone.

¹⁸“Say to the people, ‘Sanctify yourselves in preparation for tomorrow, and you will eat meat; for you have wept in the ears of Yahweh, saying, “Who will give us meat to eat? For it was well with us in Egypt.” Therefore Yahweh will give you meat, and you will eat.

¹⁹You will not eat just one day, or two days, or five days, or ten days, or twenty days,

²⁰but a whole month, until it comes out at your nostrils, and it is loathsome to you; because you have rejected Yahweh who is among you, and have wept before him, saying, “Why did we come out of Egypt?” ’ ”

²¹Moses said, “The people, among whom I am, are six hundred thousand men on foot; and you have said, ‘I will give them meat, that they may eat a whole month.’

²²Shall flocks and herds be slaughtered for them, to be sufficient for them? Shall all the fish of the sea be gathered together for them, to be sufficient for them?”

²³Yahweh said to Moses, “Has Yahweh’s hand grown short? Now you will see whether my word will happen to you or not.”

²⁴Moses went out, and told the people Yahweh’s words; and he gathered seventy men of the elders of the people, and set them around the Tent.

²⁵Yahweh came down in the cloud, and spoke to him, and took of the Spirit that was on him, and put it on the seventy elders. When the Spirit rested on them, they prophesied, but they did so no more.

²⁶But two men remained in the camp. The name of one was Eldad, and the name of the other Medad; and the Spirit rested on them. They were of those who were written, but had not gone out to the Tent; and they prophesied in the camp.

²⁷A young man ran, and told Moses, and said, “Eldad and Medad are prophesying in the camp!”

²⁸Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of Moses, one of his chosen men, answered, “My lord Moses, forbid them!”

²⁹Moses said to him, “Are you jealous for my sake? I wish that all Yahweh’s people were prophets, that Yahweh would put his Spirit on them!”

³⁰Moses went into the camp, he and the elders of Israel.

³¹A wind from Yahweh went out and brought quails from the sea, and let them fall by the camp, about a day’s journey on this side, and a day’s journey on the other side, around the camp, and about two cubits above the surface of the earth.

³²The people rose up all that day, and all of that night, and all the next day, and gathered the quails. He who gathered least gathered ten homers; and they spread them all out for themselves around the camp.

³³While the meat was still between their teeth, before it was chewed, Yahweh’s anger burned against the people, and Yahweh struck the people with a very great plague.

³⁴The name of that place was called Kibroth Hattaavah, because there they buried the people who lusted.

³⁵From Kibroth Hattaavah the people traveled to Hazeroth; and they stayed at Hazeroth.

¹⁶അപ്പോൾ യഹോവ മോശെയോടു കല്പിച്ചതു: യിസ്രായേൽമൂപ്പന്മാരിൽവെച്ചു ജനത്തിന്നു പ്രമാണികളും മേൽവിചാരകന്മാരും എന്നു നീ അറിയുന്ന എഴുപതു പുരുഷന്മാരെ സമാഗമനക്കുടാരത്തിന്നരികെ നിന്നോടു കൂടെ നിൽക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടു വരിക.

²¹അപ്പോൾ മോശെ: എന്നോടുകൂടെയുള്ള ജനം ആറുലക്ഷം കാലാൾ ഉണ്ടു; ഒരു മാസം മുഴുവൻ തിന്മാൻ ഞാൻ അവർക്കും ഇറച്ചി കൊടുക്കുമെന്നു നീ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.

²²അവർക്കും മതിയാകുംവണ്ണം ആടുകളെയും മാടുകളെയും അവർക്കുംവേണ്ടി അറുക്കുമോ? അവർക്കും മതിയാകുംവണ്ണം സമുദ്രത്തിലെ മത്സ്യത്തെ ഒക്കെയും അവർക്കും വേണ്ടി പിടിച്ചുകൂട്ടുമോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

²³യഹോവ മോശെയോടു: യഹോവയുടെ കൈ കുറുതായിപ്പോയോ? എന്റെ വചനം നിവൃത്തിയാകുമോ ഇല്ലയോ എന്നു നീ ഇപ്പോൾ കാണും എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.

²⁴അങ്ങനെ മോശെ ചെന്നു യഹോവയുടെ വചനങ്ങളെ ജനത്തോടു പറഞ്ഞു, ജനത്തിന്റെ മൂപ്പന്മാരിൽ എഴുപതു പുരുഷന്മാരെ കൂട്ടി കൂടാരത്തിന്റെ ചുറ്റിലും നിറുത്തി.

²⁵എന്നാറെ യഹോവ ഒരു മേഘത്തിൽ ഇറങ്ങി അവനോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു, അവന്മേലുള്ള ആത്മാവിൽ കുറെ എടുത്തു മൂപ്പന്മാരായ ആ എഴുപതു പുരുഷന്മാർക്കും കൊടുത്തു; ആത്മാവു അവരുടെ മേൽ ആവസിച്ചപ്പോൾ അവർ പ്രവചിച്ചു; പിന്നെ അങ്ങനെ ചെയ്തില്ലതാനും.

²⁶എന്നാൽ ആ പുരഷന്മാരിൽ രണ്ടു പേർ പാളയത്തിൽ തന്നേ താമസിച്ചിരുന്നു; ഒരുത്തന്നു എൽദാദ് എന്നും മറ്റവന്നു മേദാദ് എന്നും പേർ. ആത്മാവു അവരുടെമേലും ആവസിച്ചു; അവരും പേരെഴുതിയവരിൽ ഉള്ളവർ ആയിരുന്നു എങ്കിലും കൂടാരത്തിലേക്കു ചെന്നിരുന്നില്ല; അവർ പാളയത്തിൽ വെച്ചു പ്രവചിച്ചു.

²⁷അപ്പോൾ ഒരു ബാല്യക്കാരൻ മോശെയുടെ അടുക്കൽ ഔടിച്ചെന്നു: എൽദാദും മേദാദും പാളയത്തിൽവെച്ചു പ്രവചിക്കുന്നു എന്നു അറിയിച്ചു.

²⁸എന്നാറെ നൂന്റെ മകനായി ബാല്യംമുതൽ മോശെയുടെ ശുശ്രൂഷക്കാരനായിരുന്ന യോശുവ: എന്റെ യജമാനനായ മോശെയേ, അവരെ വിരോധിക്കേണമേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

²⁹മോശെ അവനോടു: എന്നെ വിചാരിച്ചു നീ അസൂയപ്പെടുന്നുവോ? യഹോവയുടെ ജനം ഒക്കെയും പ്രവാചകന്മാരാകയും യഹോവ തന്റെ ആത്മാവിനെ അവരുടെമേൽ പകരുകയും ചെയ്തെങ്കിൽ കൊള്ളായിരുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

³⁰പിന്നെ മോശെയും യിസ്രായേൽമൂപ്പന്മാരും പാളയത്തിൽ വന്നു ചേർന്നു.

³¹അനന്തരം യഹോവ അയച്ച ഒരു കാറ്റു ഊതി കടലിൽനിന്നു കാടയെ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു പാളയത്തിന്റെ സമീപത്തു ഒരു ദിവസത്തെ വഴി ഇങ്ങോട്ടും ഒരു ദിവസത്തെ വഴി അങ്ങോട്ടും ഇങ്ങനെ പാളയത്തിന്റെ ചുറ്റിലും നിലത്തോടു ഏകദേശം രണ്ടു മുഴം അടുത്തു പറന്നുനിലക്കുമാറാക്കി.

³²ജനം എഴുന്നേറ്റു അന്നു പകൽ മുഴുവനും രാത്രി മുഴുവനും പിറ്റെന്നാൾ മുഴുവനും കാടയെ പിടിച്ചു കൂട്ടി; നന്നാ കുറെച്ചു പിടിച്ചവൻ പത്തു പറ പിടിച്ചുകൂട്ടി; അവർ അവയെ പാളയത്തിന്റെ ചുറ്റിലും ചിക്കി.

³³എന്നാൽ ഇറച്ചി അവരുടെ പല്ലിന്നിടയിൽ ഇരിക്കുമ്പോൾ അതു ചവെച്ചിറക്കും മുമ്പെ തന്നേ യഹോവയുടെ കോപം ജനത്തിന്റെ നേരെ ജ്വലിച്ചു, യഹോവ ജനത്തെ ഒരു മഹാബാധകൊണ്ടു സംഹരിച്ചു.

³⁴ദുരാഗ്രഹികളുടെ കൂട്ടത്തെ അവിടെ കുഴിച്ചിട്ടതുകൊണ്ടു ആ സ്ഥലത്തിന്നു കിബ്രോത്ത്-ഹത്താവ എന്നു പേരായി.

³⁵കിബ്രോത്ത്-ഹത്താവ വിട്ടു ജനം ഹസേരോത്തിലേക്കു പുറപ്പെട്ടു ചെന്നു ഹസേരോത്തിൽ പാർത്തു.

⁹It was so, that when he had turned his back to go from Samuel, God gave him another heart; and all those signs happened that day.

¹⁰When they came there to the hill, behold, a band of prophets met him; and the Spirit of God came mightily on him, and he prophesied among them.

¹¹When all who knew him before saw that, behold, he prophesied with the prophets, then the people said to one another, “What is this that has come to the son of Kish? Is Saul also among the prophets?”

¹²One from the same place answered, “Who is their father?” Therefore it became a proverb, “Is Saul also among the prophets?”

⁹ഇങ്ങനെ അവൻ ശമൂവേലിനെ വിട്ടുപിരിഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ ദൈവം അവന്നു വേറൊരു ഹൃദയംകൊടുത്തു; ആ അടയാളങ്ങളെല്ലാം അന്നു തന്നേ സംഭവിച്ചു.

¹⁰അവർ അവിടെ ഗിരിയിങ്കൽ എത്തിയപ്പോൾ ഒരു പ്രവാചകഗണം ഇതാ, അവന്നെതിരെ വരുന്നു; ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ആത്മാവു ശക്തിയോടെ അവന്റെമേൽ വന്നു; അവൻ അവരുടെ ഇടയിൽ പ്രവചിച്ചു.

¹¹അവനെ മുമ്പെ അറിഞ്ഞവർ ഒക്കെയും അവൻ പ്രവാചകന്മാരുടെ കൂട്ടത്തിൽ പ്രവചിക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടപ്പോൾ: കീശിന്റെ മകന്നു എന്തു സംഭവിച്ചു? ശൗലും പ്രവാചകന്മാരുടെ കൂട്ടത്തിൽ ആയോ എന്നു ജനം തമ്മിൽ തമ്മിൽ പറഞ്ഞു.

¹²അതിന്നു അവിടത്തുകാരിൽ ഒരുത്തൻ : ആരാകുന്നു അവരുടെ ഗുരുനാഥൻ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. ആകയാൽ ശൗലും ഉണ്ടോ പ്രവാചകഗണത്തിൽ എന്നുള്ളതു പഴഞ്ചൊല്ലായി തീർന്നു.

¹“Behold, my servant, whom I uphold,

²He will not shout,

³He won’t break a bruised reed.

⁴He will not fail nor be discouraged,

⁵God Yahweh,

⁶“I, Yahweh, have called you in righteousness.

⁷to open the blind eyes,

⁸“I am Yahweh.

⁹Behold, the former things have happened

¹⁰Sing to Yahweh a new song,

¹¹Let the wilderness and its cities raise their voices,

¹²Let them give glory to Yahweh,

¹³Yahweh will go out like a mighty man.

¹⁴“I have been silent a long time.

¹⁵I will destroy mountains and hills,

¹⁶I will bring the blind by a way that they don’t know.

¹⁷“Those who trust in engraved images,

¹⁸“Hear, you deaf,

¹⁹Who is blind, but my servant?

²⁰You see many things, but don’t observe.

²¹It pleased Yahweh, for his righteousness’ sake, to magnify the law

²²But this is a robbed and plundered people.

²³Who is there among you who will give ear to this?

²⁴Who gave Jacob as plunder,

²⁵Therefore he poured the fierceness of his anger on him,

¹ഇതാ, ഞാൻ താങ്ങുന്ന എന്റെ ദാസൻ ; എന്റെ ഉള്ളം പ്രസാദിക്കുന്ന എന്റെ വൃതൻ ; ഞാൻ എന്റെ ആത്മാവിനെ അവന്റെ മേൽ വെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; അവൻ ജാതികളോടു ന്യായം പ്രസ്താവിക്കും.

⁶കുരുട്ടുകണ്ണുകളെ തുറപ്പാനും ബദ്ധന്മാരെ കുണ്ടറയിൽ നിന്നും അന്ധകാരത്തിൽ ഇരിക്കുന്നവരെ കാരാഗൃഹത്തിൽനിന്നും വിടുവിപ്പാനും

⁷യഹോവയായ ഞാൻ നിന്നെ നീതിയോടെ വിളിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; ഞാൻ നിന്റെ കൈ പിടിച്ചു നിന്നെ കാക്കും; നിന്നെ ജനത്തിന്റെ നിയമവും ജാതികളുടെ പ്രകാശവും ആക്കും.

⁸ഞാൻ യഹോവ അതുതന്നേ എന്റെ നാമം; ഞാൻ എന്റെ മഹത്വം മറ്റൊരുത്തന്നും എന്റെ സ്തുതി വിഗ്രഹങ്ങൾക്കും വിട്ടുകൊടുക്കയില്ല.

⁹പണ്ടു പ്രസ്താവിച്ചതു ഇതാ, സംഭവിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; ഞാൻ പുതിയതു അറിയിക്കുന്നു; അതു ഉത്ഭവിക്കുമ്മുമ്പെ ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെ കേൾപ്പിക്കുന്നു.

¹¹മരുഭൂമിയും അതിലെ പട്ടണങ്ങളും കേദാർ പാർക്കുംന്ന ഗ്രാമങ്ങളും ശബ്ദം ഉയർത്തട്ടെ; ശൈലനിവാസികൾ ഘോഷിച്ചുല്ലസിക്കയും മലമുകളിൽ നിന്നു ആർക്കുംകയും ചെയ്യട്ടെ.

¹⁷വിഗ്രഹങ്ങളിൽ ആശ്രയിച്ചു ബിംബങ്ങളോടു: നിങ്ങൾ ഞങ്ങളുടെ ദേവന്മാരെന്നു പറയുന്നവർ പിൻ തിരിഞ്ഞു ഏറ്റവും ലജ്ജിച്ചുപോകും.

¹⁸ചെകിടന്മാരേ, കേൾപ്പിൻ ; കുരുടന്മാരേ, നോക്കിക്കാണ്മിൻ !

¹⁹എന്റെ ദാസനല്ലാതെ കുരുടൻ ആർ? ഞാൻ അയക്കുന്ന ദൂതനെപ്പോലെ ചെകിടൻ ആർ? എന്റെ പ്രിയനെപ്പോലെ കുരുടനും യഹോവയുടെ ദാസനെപ്പോലെ അന്ധനുമായവൻ ആർ?

²⁰പലതും കണ്ടിട്ടും നീ സൂക്ഷിക്കുന്നില്ല; ചെവി തുറന്നിരുന്നിട്ടും അവൻ കേൾക്കുന്നില്ല.

²¹യഹോവ തന്റെ നീതിനിമിത്തം ഉപദേശത്തെ ശ്രേഷ്ഠമാക്കി മഹത്വീകരിപ്പാൻ പ്രസാദിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

²⁴യാക്കോബിനെ കൊള്ളയായും യിസ്രായേലിനെ കവർച്ചക്കാർക്കും ഏല്പിച്ചുകൊടുത്തവൻ ആർ? യഹോവ തന്നേയല്ലോ; അവനോടു നാം പാപം ചെയ്തുപോയി അവന്റെ വഴികളിൽ നടപ്പാൻ അവർക്കും മനസ്സില്ലായിരുന്നു; അവന്റെ ന്യായപ്രമാണം അവർ അനുസരിച്ചിട്ടുമില്ല.

²⁵അതുകൊണ്ടു അവൻ തന്റെ ഉഗ്രകോപവും യുദ്ധകാഠിന്യവും അവരുടെമേൽ പകർന്നു; അതു അവരുടെ ചുറ്റും ജ്വലിച്ചിട്ടും അവർ അറിഞ്ഞില്ല; അതു അവരെ ദഹിപ്പിച്ചിട്ടും അവർ കൂട്ടാക്കിയില്ല.

¹Now when the day of Pentecost had come, they were all with one accord in one place.

²Suddenly there came from the sky a sound like the rushing of a mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.

³Tongues like fire appeared and were distributed to them, and one sat on each of them.

⁴They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other languages, as the Spirit gave them the ability to speak.

⁵Now there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men, from every nation under the sky.

⁶When this sound was heard, the multitude came together and were bewildered, because everyone heard them speaking in his own language.

⁷They were all amazed and marveled, saying to one another, “Behold, aren’t all these who speak Galileans?

⁸How do we hear, everyone in our own native language?

⁹Parthians, Medes, Elamites, and people from Mesopotamia, Judea, Cappadocia, Pontus, Asia,

¹⁰Phrygia, Pamphylia, Egypt, the parts of Libya around Cyrene, visitors from Rome, both Jews and proselytes,

¹¹Cretans and Arabians—we hear them speaking in our languages the mighty works of God!”

¹²They were all amazed and were perplexed, saying to one another, “What does this mean?”

¹³Others, mocking, said, “They are filled with new wine.”

¹പെന്തെക്കൊസ്തനാൾ വന്നപ്പോൾ എല്ലാവരും ഒരു സ്ഥലത്തു ഒന്നിച്ചു കൂടിയിരുന്നു.

⁶ഈ മുഴക്കം ഉണ്ടായപ്പോൾ പുരുഷാരം വന്നു കൂടി, ഔരോരുത്തൻ താന്താന്റെ ഭാഷയിൽ അവർ സംസാരിക്കുന്നതു കേട്ടു അമ്പരന്നു പോയി.

⁷എല്ലാവരും ഭ്രമിച്ചു ആശ്ചര്യപ്പെട്ടു: ഈ സംസാരിക്കുന്നവർ എല്ലാം ഗലീലക്കാർ അല്ലയോ?

¹¹ഈ നമ്മുടെ ഭാഷകളിൽ അവർ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ വൻ കാര്യങ്ങളെ പ്രസ്താവിക്കുന്നതു കേൾക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

¹⁶But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you won’t fulfill the lust of the flesh.

¹⁷For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, that you may not do the things that you desire.

¹⁸But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

¹⁹Now the deeds of the flesh are obvious, which are: adultery, sexual immorality, uncleanness, lustfulness,

²⁰idolatry, sorcery, hatred, strife, jealousies, outbursts of anger, rivalries, divisions, heresies,

²¹envy, murders, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these; of which I forewarn you, even as I also forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit God’s Kingdom.

²²But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith,

²³gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

²⁴Those who belong to Christ have crucified the flesh with its passions and lusts.

²⁵If we live by the Spirit, let’s also walk by the Spirit.

²⁶Let’s not become conceited, provoking one another, and envying one another.

²⁰ആഭിചാരം, പക, പിണക്കം, ജാരശങ്ക, ക്രോധം, ശാഠ്യം,

²¹ദ്വന്ദ്വപക്ഷം, ഭിന്നത, അസൂയ, മദ്യപാനം, വെറിക്കൂത്തു മുതലായവ എന്നു വെളിവാകുന്നു; ഈ വക പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നവൻ ദൈവരാജ്യം അവകാശമാക്കുകയില്ല എന്നു ഞാൻ മുമ്പെ പറഞ്ഞതുപോലെ ഇപ്പോഴും നിങ്ങളോടു മുൻ കൂട്ടി പറയുന്നു.

²²ആത്മാവിന്റെ ഫലമോ: സ്നേഹം, സന്തോഷം, സമാധാനം, ദീർഘക്ഷമ, ദയ, പരോപകാരം, വിശ്വസ്തത, സൌമ്യത,

¹“I am the true vine, and my Father is the farmer.

²Every branch in me that doesn’t bear fruit, he takes away. Every branch that bears fruit, he prunes, that it may bear more fruit.

³You are already pruned clean because of the word which I have spoken to you.

⁴Remain in me, and I in you. As the branch can’t bear fruit by itself unless it remains in the vine, so neither can you, unless you remain in me.

⁵I am the vine. You are the branches. He who remains in me and I in him bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.

⁶If a man doesn’t remain in me, he is thrown out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them, throw them into the fire, and they are burned.

⁷If you remain in me, and my words remain in you, you will ask whatever you desire, and it will be done for you.

⁸“In this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; and so you will be my disciples.

⁹Even as the Father has loved me, I also have loved you. Remain in my love.

¹⁰If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love, even as I have kept my Father’s commandments and remain in his love.

¹¹I have spoken these things to you, that my joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be made full.

¹²“This is my commandment, that you love one another, even as I have loved you.

¹³Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.

¹⁴You are my friends if you do whatever I command you.

¹ഞാൻ സാക്ഷാൽ മുന്തിരിവള്ളിയും എന്റെ പിതാവു തോട്ടക്കാരനും ആകുന്നു.

³ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു സംസാരിച്ച വചനം നിമിത്തം നിങ്ങൾ ഇപ്പോൾ ശുദ്ധിയുള്ളവരാകുന്നു.

⁴എന്നിൽ വസിപ്പിൻ ; ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളിലും വസിക്കും; കൊമ്പിന്നു മുന്തിരവള്ളിയിൽ വസിച്ചിട്ടല്ലാതെ സ്വയമായി കായ്പാൻ കഴിയാത്തതുപോലെ എന്നിൽ വസിച്ചിട്ടല്ലാതെ നിങ്ങൾക്കു കഴികയില്ല.

⁵ഞാൻ മുന്തിരിവള്ളിയും നിങ്ങൾ കൊമ്പുകളും ആകുന്നു; ഒരുത്തൻ എന്നിലും ഞാൻ അവനിലും വസിക്കുന്നു എങ്കിൽ അവൻ വളരെ ഫലം കായക്കും; എന്നെ പിരിഞ്ഞു നിങ്ങൾക്കു ഒന്നും ചെയ്‍വാൻ കഴികയില്ല.

⁶എന്നിൽ വസിക്കാത്തവനെ ഒരു കൊമ്പുപോലെ പുറത്തു കളഞ്ഞിട്ടു അവൻ ഉണങ്ങിപ്പോകുന്നു; ആ വക ചേർത്തു തീയിൽ ഇടുന്നു;

⁷അതു വെന്തുപോകും. നിങ്ങൾ എന്നിലും എന്റെ വചനം നിങ്ങളിലും വസിച്ചാൽ നിങ്ങൾ ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നതു എന്തെങ്കിലും അപേക്ഷിപ്പിൻ ; അതു നിങ്ങൾക്കു കിട്ടും.

⁸നിങ്ങൾ വളരെ ഫലം കായക്കുന്നതിനാൽ എന്റെ പിതാവു മഹത്വപ്പെടുന്നു; അങ്ങനെ നിങ്ങൾ എന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാർ ആകും.

⁹പിതാവു എന്നെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ ഞാനും നിങ്ങളെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ സ്നേഹത്തിൽ വസിപ്പിൻ .

¹¹എന്റെ സന്തോഷം നിങ്ങളിൽ ഇരിപ്പാനും നിങ്ങളുടെ സന്തോഷം പൂർണ്ണമാകുവാനും ഞാൻ ഇതു നിങ്ങളോടു സംസാരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

¹²ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെ സ്നേഹിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ നിങ്ങളും തമ്മിൽ തമ്മിൽ സ്നേഹിക്കേണം എന്നാകുന്നു എന്റെ കല്പന.

¹The whole earth was of one language and of one speech.

²As they traveled east, they found a plain in the land of Shinar, and they lived there.

³They said to one another, “Come, let’s make bricks, and burn them thoroughly.” They had brick for stone, and they used tar for mortar.

⁴They said, “Come, let’s build ourselves a city, and a tower whose top reaches to the sky, and let’s make a name for ourselves, lest we be scattered abroad on the surface of the whole earth.”

⁵Yahweh came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men built.

⁶Yahweh said, “Behold, they are one people, and they all have one language, and this is what they begin to do. Now nothing will be withheld from them, which they intend to do.

⁷Come, let’s go down, and there confuse their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech.”

¹⁴He took Elijah’s mantle that fell from him, and struck the waters, and said, “Where is Yahweh, the God of Elijah?” When he also had struck the waters, they were divided apart, and Elisha went over.

¹⁵When the sons of the prophets who were at Jericho facing him saw him, they said, “The spirit of Elijah rests on Elisha.” They came to meet him, and bowed themselves to the ground before him.

¹⁶They said to him, “See now, there are with your servants fifty strong men. Please let them go and seek your master. Perhaps Yahweh’s Spirit has taken him up, and put him on some mountain or into some valley.”

¹⁷When they urged him until he was ashamed, he said, “Send them.”

¹While Apollos was at Corinth, Paul, having passed through the upper country, came to Ephesus and found certain disciples.

²He said to them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?”

³He said, “Into what then were you baptized?”

⁴Paul said, “John indeed baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying to the people that they should believe in the one who would come after him, that is, in Christ Jesus.”

⁵When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

⁶When Paul had laid his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them and they spoke with other languages and prophesied.

⁷They were about twelve men in all.

²⁰Brothers, don’t be children in thoughts, yet in malice be babies, but in thoughts be mature.

²¹In the law it is written, “By men of strange languages and by the lips of strangers I will speak to this people. They won’t even listen to me that way, says the Lord.”

²²Therefore other languages are for a sign, not to those who believe, but to the unbelieving; but prophesying is for a sign, not to the unbelieving, but to those who believe.

²³If therefore the whole assembly is assembled together and all speak with other languages, and unlearned or unbelieving people come in, won’t they say that you are crazy?

²⁴But if all prophesy, and someone unbelieving or unlearned comes in, he is reproved by all, and he is judged by all.

²⁵And thus the secrets of his heart are revealed. So he will fall down on his face and worship God, declaring that God is among you indeed.

³If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will receive you to myself; that where I am, you may be there also.

⁴You know where I go, and you know the way.”

⁵Thomas said to him, “Lord, we don’t know where you are going. How can we know the way?”

⁶Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.

⁷If you had known me, you would have known my Father also. From now on, you know him and have seen him.”

⁸Philip said to him, “Lord, show us the Father, and that will be enough for us.”

⁹Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you such a long time, and do you not know me, Philip? He who has seen me has seen the Father. How do you say, ‘Show us the Father’?

¹⁰Don’t you believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? The words that I tell you, I speak not from myself; but the Father who lives in me does his works.

¹¹Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me; or else believe me for the very works’ sake.

¹²Most certainly I tell you, he who believes in me, the works that I do, he will do also; and he will do greater works than these, because I am going to my Father.

¹³Whatever you will ask in my name, I will do it, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

¹⁴If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it.

¹⁵If you love me, keep my commandments.

¹⁶I will pray to the Father, and he will give you another Counselor, that he may be with you forever:

¹⁷the Spirit of truth, whom the world can’t receive, for it doesn’t see him and doesn’t know him. You know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.

¹Yahweh’s hand was on me, and he brought me out in Yahweh’s Spirit, and set me down in the middle of the valley; and it was full of bones.

²He caused me to pass by them all around; and behold, there were very many in the open valley, and behold, they were very dry.

³He said to me, “Son of man, can these bones live?”

⁴Again he said to me, “Prophesy over these bones, and tell them, ‘You dry bones, hear Yahweh’s word.

⁵The Lord Yahweh says to these bones: “Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and you will live.

⁶I will lay sinews on you, and will bring up flesh on you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and you will live. Then you will know that I am Yahweh.” ’ ”

⁷So I prophesied as I was commanded. As I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold, there was an earthquake. Then the bones came together, bone to its bone.

⁸I saw, and, behold, there were sinews on them, and flesh came up, and skin covered them above; but there was no breath in them.

⁹Then he said to me, “Prophesy to the wind, prophesy, son of man, and tell the wind, ‘The Lord Yahweh says: “Come from the four winds, breath, and breathe on these slain, that they may live.” ’ ”

¹⁰So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up on their feet, an exceedingly great army.

¹¹Then he said to me, “Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel. Behold, they say, ‘Our bones are dried up, and our hope is lost. We are completely cut off.’

¹²Therefore prophesy, and tell them, ‘The Lord Yahweh says: “Behold, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, my people; and I will bring you into the land of Israel.

¹³You will know that I am Yahweh, when I have opened your graves and caused you to come up out of your graves, my people.

¹⁴I will put my Spirit in you, and you will live. Then I will place you in your own land; and you will know that I, Yahweh, have spoken it and performed it,” says Yahweh.’ ”

²⁵I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten,

²⁶You will have plenty to eat and be satisfied,

²⁷You will know that I am among Israel,

²⁸“It will happen afterward, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh;

²⁹And also on the servants and on the handmaids in those days,

³⁰I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth:

³¹The sun will be turned into darkness,

³²It will happen that whoever will call on Yahweh’s name shall be saved;

³⁴Peter opened his mouth and said, “Truly I perceive that God doesn’t show favoritism;

³⁵but in every nation he who fears him and works righteousness is acceptable to him.

³⁶The word which he sent to the children of Israel, preaching good news of peace by Jesus Christ—he is Lord of all—

³⁷you yourselves know what happened, which was proclaimed throughout all Judea, beginning from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached;

³⁸how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him.

³⁹We are witnesses of everything he did both in the country of the Jews and in Jerusalem; whom they also killed, hanging him on a tree.

⁴⁰God raised him up the third day and gave him to be revealed,

⁴¹not to all the people, but to witnesses who were chosen before by God, to us, who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead.

⁴²He commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that this is he who is appointed by God as the Judge of the living and the dead.

⁴³All the prophets testify about him, that through his name everyone who believes in him will receive remission of sins.”

⁴⁴While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell on all those who heard the word.

⁴⁵They of the circumcision who believed were amazed, as many as came with Peter, because the gift of the Holy Spirit was also poured out on the Gentiles.

⁴⁶For they heard them speaking in other languages and magnifying God.

⁴⁷“Can anyone forbid these people from being baptized with water? They have received the Holy Spirit just like us.”

⁴⁸He commanded them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they asked him to stay some days.

³⁹യെഹൂദ്യദേശത്തിലും യെരൂശലേമിലും അവൻ ചെയ്ത സകലത്തിനും ഞങ്ങൾ സാക്ഷികൾ ആകുന്നു. അവനെ അവർ മരത്തിന്മേൽ തൂക്കിക്കൊന്നു;

⁴⁰ദൈവം അവനെ മൂന്നാം നാൾ ഉയിർത്തെഴുന്നേല്പിച്ചു,

¹²For as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, being many, are one body; so also is Christ.

¹³For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether bond or free; and were all given to drink into one Spirit.

¹⁴For the body is not one member, but many.

¹⁵If the foot would say, “Because I’m not the hand, I’m not part of the body,” it is not therefore not part of the body.

¹⁶If the ear would say, “Because I’m not the eye, I’m not part of the body,” it’s not therefore not part of the body.

¹⁷If the whole body were an eye, where would the hearing be? If the whole were hearing, where would the smelling be?

¹⁸But now God has set the members, each one of them, in the body, just as he desired.

¹⁹If they were all one member, where would the body be?

²⁰But now they are many members, but one body.

²¹The eye can’t tell the hand, “I have no need for you,” or again the head to the feet, “I have no need for you.”

²²No, much rather, those members of the body which seem to be weaker are necessary.

²³Those parts of the body which we think to be less honorable, on those we bestow more abundant honor; and our unpresentable parts have more abundant modesty,

²⁴while our presentable parts have no such need. But God composed the body together, giving more abundant honor to the inferior part,

²⁵that there should be no division in the body, but that the members should have the same care for one another.

²⁶When one member suffers, all the members suffer with it. When one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.

²⁷Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually.

¹²ശരീരം ഒന്നും, അതിന്നു അവയവം പലതും ശരീരത്തിന്റെ അവയവം പലതായിരിക്കെ എല്ലാം ഒരു ശരീരവും ആയിരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ ആകുന്നു ക്രിസ്തുവും.

¹⁶ഞാൻ കണ്ണു അല്ലായ്കകൊണ്ടു ശരീരത്തിലുള്ളതല്ല എന്നു ചെവി പറയുന്നു എങ്കിൽ അതിനാൽ അതു ശരീരത്തിലുള്ളതല്ല എന്നും വരികയില്ല.

¹⁷ശരീരം മുഴുവൻ കണ്ണായാൽ ശ്രവണം എവിടെ? മുഴുവൻ ശ്രവണം ആയാൽ ഘ്രാണം എവിടെ?

¹⁸ദൈവമോ തന്റെ ഇഷ്ടപ്രകാരം അവയവങ്ങളെ ശരീരത്തിൽ വെവ്വേറായി വെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

¹⁹സകലവും ഒരു അവയവം എങ്കിൽ ശരീരം എവിടെ?

²⁰എന്നാൽ അവയവങ്ങൾ പലതെങ്കിലും ശരീരം ഒന്നു തന്നേ.

²¹കണ്ണിന്നു കയ്യോടു: നിന്നെക്കൊണ്ടു എനിക്കു ആവശ്യമില്ല എന്നും, തലെക്കു കാലുകളോടു: നിങ്ങളെക്കൊണ്ടു എനിക്കു ആവശ്യമില്ല എന്നുംപറഞ്ഞുകൂടാ.

²²ശരീരത്തിൽ ബലം കുറഞ്ഞവ എന്നു തോന്നുന്ന അവയവങ്ങൾ തന്നേ ആവശ്യമുള്ളവയാകുന്നു.

²⁴നമ്മിൽ അഴകുള്ള അവയവങ്ങൾക്കു അതു ആവശ്യമില്ലല്ലോ.

²⁵ശരീരത്തിൽ ഭിന്നത വരാതെ അവയവങ്ങൾ അന്യോന്യം ഒരുപോലെ കരുതേണ്ടതിന്നായി ദൈവം കുറവുള്ളതിന്നു അധികം മാനം കൊടുത്തുകൊണ്ടു ശരീരത്തെ കൂട്ടിച്ചേർത്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

²⁶അതിനാൽ ഒരുഅവയവം കഷ്ടം അനുഭവിക്കുന്നു എങ്കിൽ അവയവങ്ങൾ ഒക്കെയും കൂടെ കഷ്ടം അനുഭവിക്കുന്നു; ഒരു അവയവത്തിന്നു മാനം വന്നാൽ അവയവങ്ങൾ ഒക്കെയുംകൂടെ സന്തോഷിക്കുന്നു.

²⁵“I have said these things to you while still living with you.

²⁶But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things, and will remind you of all that I said to you.

²⁷Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, I give to you. Don’t let your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful.

²⁸You heard how I told you, ‘I am going away, and I will come back to you.’ If you loved me, you would have rejoiced because I said ‘I am going to my Father;’ for the Father is greater than I.

²⁹Now I have told you before it happens so that when it happens, you may believe.

³⁰I will no more speak much with you, for the prince of the world comes, and he has nothing in me.

³¹But that the world may know that I love the Father, and as the Father commanded me, even so I do. Arise, let’s go from here.

²⁵ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ വസിക്കുമ്പോൾ ഇതു നിങ്ങളോടു സംസാരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

²⁴The woman bore a son and named him Samson. The child grew, and Yahweh blessed him.

²⁵Yahweh’s Spirit began to move him in Mahaneh Dan, between Zorah and Eshtaol.

¹Samson went down to Timnah, and saw a woman in Timnah of the daughters of the Philistines.

²He came up, and told his father and his mother, saying, “I have seen a woman in Timnah of the daughters of the Philistines. Now therefore get her for me as my wife.”

³Then his father and his mother said to him, “Isn’t there a woman among your brothers’ daughters, or among all my people, that you go to take a wife of the uncircumcised Philistines?”

⁴But his father and his mother didn’t know that it was of Yahweh; for he sought an occasion against the Philistines. Now at that time the Philistines ruled over Israel.

⁵Then Samson went down to Timnah with his father and his mother, and came to the vineyards of Timnah; and behold, a young lion roared at him.

⁶Yahweh’s Spirit came mightily on him, and he tore him as he would have torn a young goat with his bare hands, but he didn’t tell his father or his mother what he had done.

⁷He went down and talked with the woman, and she pleased Samson well.

²⁴അനന്തരം സ്ത്രീ ഒരു മകനെ പ്രസവിച്ചു, അവന്നു ശിംശോൻ എന്നു പേരിട്ടു ബാലൻ വളർന്നു; യഹോവ അവനെ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു.

¹He brought me back to the door of the temple; and behold, waters flowed out from under the threshold of the temple eastward, for the front of the temple faced toward the east. The waters came down from underneath, from the right side of the temple, on the south of the altar.

²Then he brought me out by the way of the gate northward, and led me around by the way outside to the outer gate, by the way of the gate that looks toward the east. Behold, waters ran out on the right side.

³When the man went out eastward with the line in his hand, he measured one thousand cubits, and he caused me to pass through the waters, waters that were to the ankles.

⁴Again he measured one thousand, and caused me to pass through the waters, waters that were to the knees. Again he measured one thousand, and caused me to pass through waters that were to the waist.

⁵Afterward he measured one thousand; and it was a river that I could not pass through, for the waters had risen, waters to swim in, a river that could not be walked through.

⁶He said to me, “Son of man, have you seen this?”

⁷Now when I had returned, behold, on the bank of the river were very many trees on the one side and on the other.

⁸Then he said to me, “These waters flow out toward the eastern region and will go down into the Arabah. Then they will go toward the sea and flow into the sea which will be made to flow out; and the waters will be healed.

⁹It will happen that every living creature which swarms, in every place where the rivers come, will live. Then there will be a very great multitude of fish; for these waters have come there, and the waters of the sea will be healed, and everything will live wherever the river comes.

¹⁰It will happen that fishermen will stand by it. From En Gedi even to En Eglaim will be a place for the spreading of nets. Their fish will be after their kinds, as the fish of the great sea, exceedingly many.

¹¹But its swamps and marshes will not be healed. They will be given up to salt.

¹²By the river banks, on both sides, will grow every tree for food, whose leaf won’t wither, neither will its fruit fail. It will produce new fruit every month, because its waters issue out of the sanctuary. Its fruit will be for food, and its leaf for healing.”

¹അവൻ എന്നെ ആലയത്തിന്റെ പ്രവേശനത്തിങ്കൽ മടക്കിക്കൊണ്ടുവന്നപ്പോൾ ആലയത്തിന്റെ ഉമ്മരപ്പടിയുടെ കീഴെ നിന്നു വെള്ളം കിഴക്കോട്ടു പുറപ്പെടുന്നതു ഞാൻ കണ്ടു. ആലയത്തിന്റെ മുഖം കിഴക്കോട്ടല്ലോ; ആ വെള്ളം ആലയത്തിന്റെ വലത്തു ഭാഗത്തു കീഴെനിന്നു യാഗപീഠത്തിന്നു തെക്കുവശമായി ഒഴുകി.

²അവൻ വടക്കോട്ടുള്ള ഗോപുരത്തിൽകൂടി എന്നെ പുറത്തു കൊണ്ടു ചെന്നു പുറത്തെ വഴിയായി കിഴക്കോട്ടു ദർശനമുള്ള ഗോപുരത്തിൽകൂടി പുറത്തെ ഗോപുരത്തിലേക്കു ചുറ്റിനടത്തി കൊണ്ടുപോയി; വെള്ളം വലത്തുഭാഗത്തുകൂടി ഒഴുകുന്നതു ഞാൻ കണ്ടു.

³ആ പുരുഷൻ കയ്യിൽ ചരടുമായി കിഴക്കോട്ടു നടന്നു, ആയിരം മുഴം അളന്നു, എന്നെ വെള്ളത്തിൽ കൂടി കടക്കുമാറാക്കി; വെള്ളം നരിയാണിയോളം ആയി.

⁴അവൻ പിന്നെയും ആയിരം മുഴം അളന്നു, എന്നെ വെള്ളത്തിൽകൂടി കടക്കുമാറാക്കി; വെള്ളം മുട്ടോളം ആയി; അവൻ പിന്നെയും ആയിരം മുഴം അളന്നു, എന്നെ കടക്കുമാറാക്കി; വെള്ളം അരയോളം ആയി.

⁵അവൻ പിന്നെയും ആയിരം മുഴം അളന്നു; അതു എനിക്കു കടപ്പാൻ വഹിയാത്ത ഒരു നദിയായി; വെള്ളം പൊങ്ങി, നീന്തീട്ടല്ലാതെ കടപ്പാൻ വഹിയാത്ത ഒരു നദിയായിത്തീർന്നു.

⁶അവൻ എന്നോടു: മനുഷ്യപുത്രാ, കണ്ടുവോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു; പിന്നെ അവൻ എന്നെ നദീതീരത്തു മടങ്ങിച്ചെല്ലുമാറാക്കി.

⁷ഞാൻ മടങ്ങിച്ചെന്നപ്പോൾ നദീതീരത്തു ഇക്കരെയും അക്കരെയും അനവധി വൃക്ഷം നിലക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു.

⁸അപ്പോൾ അവൻ എന്നോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു: ഈ വെള്ളം കിഴക്കെ ഗലീലയിലേക്കു പുറപ്പെട്ടു അരാബയിലേക്കു ഒഴുകി കടലിൽ വീഴുന്നു; കഴുകിച്ചെന്നു വെള്ളം കടലിൽ വീണിട്ടു അതിലെ വെള്ളം പത്ഥ്യമായ്തീരും.

⁹എന്നാൽ ഈ നദി ചെന്നുചേരുന്നെടത്തൊക്കെയും ചലിക്കുന്ന സകലപ്രാണികളും ജീവിച്ചിരിക്കും; ഈ വെള്ളം അവിടെ വന്നതുകൊണ്ടു ഏറ്റവും വളരെ മത്സ്യം ഉണ്ടാകും; ഈ നദി ചെന്നു ചേരുന്നേടത്തൊക്കെയും അതു പത്ഥ്യമായ്തീർന്നിട്ടു സകലവും ജീവിക്കും.

¹⁰അതിന്റെ കരയിൽ ഏൻ -ഗതി മുതൽ ഏൻ -എഗ്ളയീംവരെ മീൻ പിടിക്കാർ നിന്നു വല വീശും; അതിലെ മത്സ്യം മഹാസമുദ്രത്തിലെ മത്സ്യംപോലെ വിവിധജാതിയായി അസംഖ്യമായിരിക്കും.

¹¹എന്നാൽ അതിന്റെ ചേറ്റുകണ്ടങ്ങളും കഴിനിലങ്ങളും പത്ഥ്യമായ്‍വരാതെ ഉപ്പുപടനെക്കായി വിട്ടേക്കും.

¹²നദീതീരത്തു ഇക്കരെയും അക്കരെയും തിന്മാൻ തക്ക ഫലമുള്ള സകലവിധ വൃക്ഷങ്ങളും വളരും; അവയുടെ ഇല വാടുകയില്ല, ഫലം ഇല്ലാതെപോകയുമില്ല; അതിലെ വെള്ളം വിശുദ്ധമന്ദിരത്തിൽനിന്നു ഒഴുകിവരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു അവ മാസംതോറും പുതിയ ഫലം കായക്കും; അവയുടെ ഫലം തിന്മാനും അവയുടെ ഇല ചികിത്സക്കും ഉതകും.

¹“Come down and sit in the dust, virgin daughter of Babylon.

¹ബാബേൽപുത്രിയായ കന്യകേ, ഇറങ്ങി പൊടിയിൽ ഇരിക്ക; കല്ദയപുത്രീ, സിംഹാസനം കൂടാതെ നിലത്തിരിക്ക; നിന്നെ ഇനി തന്വംഗി എന്നും സുഖഭോഗിനി എന്നും വിളിക്കയില്ല.

¹Now when the day of Pentecost had come, they were all with one accord in one place.

²Suddenly there came from the sky a sound like the rushing of a mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.

³Tongues like fire appeared and were distributed to them, and one sat on each of them.

⁴They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other languages, as the Spirit gave them the ability to speak.

⁵Now there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men, from every nation under the sky.

⁶When this sound was heard, the multitude came together and were bewildered, because everyone heard them speaking in his own language.

⁷They were all amazed and marveled, saying to one another, “Behold, aren’t all these who speak Galileans?

⁸How do we hear, everyone in our own native language?

⁹Parthians, Medes, Elamites, and people from Mesopotamia, Judea, Cappadocia, Pontus, Asia,

¹⁰Phrygia, Pamphylia, Egypt, the parts of Libya around Cyrene, visitors from Rome, both Jews and proselytes,

¹¹Cretans and Arabians—we hear them speaking in our languages the mighty works of God!”

¹²They were all amazed and were perplexed, saying to one another, “What does this mean?”

¹³Others, mocking, said, “They are filled with new wine.”

¹⁴But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice and spoke out to them, “You men of Judea and all you who dwell at Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and listen to my words.

¹⁵For these aren’t drunken, as you suppose, seeing it is only the third hour of the day.

¹⁶But this is what has been spoken through the prophet Joel:

¹⁷‘It will be in the last days, says God,

¹⁸Yes, and on my servants and on my handmaidens in those days,

¹⁹I will show wonders in the sky above,

²⁰The sun will be turned into darkness,

²¹It will be that whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.’

¹പെന്തെക്കൊസ്തനാൾ വന്നപ്പോൾ എല്ലാവരും ഒരു സ്ഥലത്തു ഒന്നിച്ചു കൂടിയിരുന്നു.

²പെട്ടെന്നു കൊടിയ കാറ്റടിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ ആകാശത്തനിന്നു ഒരു മുഴക്കം ഉണ്ടായി, അവർ ഇരുന്നിരുന്ന വീടു മുഴുവനും നിറെച്ചു.

⁵അന്നു ആകാശത്തിൻ കീഴുള്ള സകല ജാതികളിൽ നിന്നും യെരൂശലേമിൽ വന്നു പാർക്കുംന്ന യെഹൂദന്മാരായ ഭക്തിയുള്ള പുരുഷന്മാർ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

⁶ഈ മുഴക്കം ഉണ്ടായപ്പോൾ പുരുഷാരം വന്നു കൂടി, ഔരോരുത്തൻ താന്താന്റെ ഭാഷയിൽ അവർ സംസാരിക്കുന്നതു കേട്ടു അമ്പരന്നു പോയി.

⁷എല്ലാവരും ഭ്രമിച്ചു ആശ്ചര്യപ്പെട്ടു: ഈ സംസാരിക്കുന്നവർ എല്ലാം ഗലീലക്കാർ അല്ലയോ?

⁸പിന്നെ നാം ഔരോരുത്തൻ ജനിച്ച നമ്മുടെ സ്വന്ത ഭാഷയിൽ അവർ സംസാരിച്ചു കേൾക്കുന്നതു എങ്ങനെ?

⁹പർത്ഥരും മേദ്യരും ഏലാമ്യരും മെസപ്പൊത്താമ്യയിലും യെഹൂദ്യയിലും കപ്പദോക്യയിലും

¹⁰പൊന്തൊസിലും ആസ്യയിലും പ്രുഗ്യയിലും പംഫുല്യയിലും മിസ്രയീമിലും കുറേനെക്കു ചേർന്ന ലിബ്യാപ്രദേശങ്ങളിലും പാർക്കുംന്നവരും റോമയിൽ നിന്നു വന്നു പാർക്കുംന്നവരും യെഹൂദന്മാരും യെഹൂദ മതാനുസാരികളും ക്രേത്യരും അറബിക്കാരുമായ നാം

¹¹ഈ നമ്മുടെ ഭാഷകളിൽ അവർ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ വൻ കാര്യങ്ങളെ പ്രസ്താവിക്കുന്നതു കേൾക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

¹²എല്ലാവരും ഭ്രമിച്ചു ചഞ്ചലിച്ചു; ഇതു എന്തായിരിക്കും എന്നു തമ്മിൽ തമ്മിൽ പറഞ്ഞു.

¹³ഇവർ പുതു വീഞ്ഞു കുടിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു മറ്റു ചിലർ പരിഹസിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.

¹⁸എന്റെ ദാസന്മാരുടെമേലും ദാസിമാരുടെമേലും കൂടെ ഞാൻ ആ നാളുകളിൽ എന്റെ ആത്മാവിനെ പകരും; അവരും പ്രവചിക്കും.

¹⁹ഞാൻ മീതെ ആകാശത്തിൽ അത്ഭുതങ്ങളും താഴെ ഭൂമിയിൽ അടയാളങ്ങളും കാണിക്കും; രക്തവും തീയും പുകയാവിയും തന്നേ.

²⁰കർത്താവിന്റെ വലുതും പ്രസിദ്ധവുമായ നാൾ വരുംമുമ്പേ സൂര്യൻ ഇരുളായും ചന്ദ്രൻ രക്തമായും മാറിപ്പോകും.

²¹എന്നാൽ കർത്താവിന്റെ നാമം വിളിച്ചപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നവൻ ഏവനും രക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടും എന്നു ദൈവം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.”

²⁰Brothers, don’t be children in thoughts, yet in malice be babies, but in thoughts be mature.

²¹In the law it is written, “By men of strange languages and by the lips of strangers I will speak to this people. They won’t even listen to me that way, says the Lord.”

²²Therefore other languages are for a sign, not to those who believe, but to the unbelieving; but prophesying is for a sign, not to the unbelieving, but to those who believe.

²³If therefore the whole assembly is assembled together and all speak with other languages, and unlearned or unbelieving people come in, won’t they say that you are crazy?

²⁴But if all prophesy, and someone unbelieving or unlearned comes in, he is reproved by all, and he is judged by all.

²⁵And thus the secrets of his heart are revealed. So he will fall down on his face and worship God, declaring that God is among you indeed.

²⁶What is it then, brothers? When you come together, each one of you has a psalm, has a teaching, has a revelation, has another language, or has an interpretation. Let all things be done to build each other up.

²⁷If any man speaks in another language, let there be two, or at the most three, and in turn; and let one interpret.

²⁸But if there is no interpreter, let him keep silent in the assembly, and let him speak to himself and to God.

²⁹Let two or three of the prophets speak, and let the others discern.

³⁰But if a revelation is made to another sitting by, let the first keep silent.

³¹For you all can prophesy one by one, that all may learn and all may be exhorted.

³²The spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets,

³³for God is not a God of confusion but of peace, as in all the assemblies of the saints.

²⁰സഹോദരന്മാരേ, ബുദ്ധിയിൽ കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങൾ ആകരുതു; തിന്മെക്കു ശിശുക്കൾ ആയിരിപ്പിൻ ; ബുദ്ധിയിലോ മുതിർന്നവരാകുവിൻ .

²¹“അന്യഭാഷകളാലും അന്യന്മാരുടെ അധരങ്ങളാലും ഞാൻ ഈ ജനത്തോടു സംസാരിക്കും എങ്കിലും അവർ എന്റെ വാക്കു കേൾക്കയില്ല എന്നു കർത്താവു അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു” എന്നു ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിൽ എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

²²അതുകൊണ്ടു അന്യഭാഷകൾ അടയാളമായിരിക്കുന്നതു വിശ്വാസികൾക്കല്ല, അവിശ്വാസികൾക്കത്രേ; പ്രവചനമോ അവിശ്വാസികൾക്കല്ല, വിശ്വാസികൾക്കു തന്നേ.

²³സഭ ഒക്കെയും ഒരുമിച്ചുകൂടി എല്ലാവരും അന്യഭാഷകളിൽ സംസാരിക്കുന്നു എങ്കിൽ ആത്മവരമില്ലാത്തവരോ അവിശ്വാസികളോ അകത്തു വന്നാൽ നിങ്ങൾക്കു ഭ്രാന്തുണ്ടു എന്നു പറകയില്ലയോ?

²⁴എല്ലാവരും പ്രവചിക്കുന്നു എങ്കിലോ അവിശ്വാസിയോ ആത്മവരമില്ലാത്തവനോ അകത്തു വന്നാൽ എല്ലാവരുടെ വാക്കിനാലും അവന്നു പാപബോധം വരും; അവൻ എല്ലാവരാലും വിവേചിക്കപ്പെടും.

³⁰ഇരിക്കുന്നവനായ മറ്റൊരുവന്നു വെളിപ്പാടുണ്ടായാലോ ഒന്നാമത്തവൻ മിണ്ടാതിരിക്കട്ടെ.

³¹എല്ലാവരും പഠിപ്പാനും എല്ലാവർക്കും പ്രബോധനം ലഭിപ്പാനുമായി നിങ്ങൾക്കു എല്ലാവർക്കും ഔരോരുത്തനായി പ്രവചിക്കാമല്ലോ.

³²പ്രവാചകന്മാരുടെ ആത്മാക്കൾ പ്രവാചകന്മാർക്കും കീഴടങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

³³ദൈവം കലക്കത്തിന്റെ ദൈവമല്ല സമാധാനത്തിന്റെ ദൈവമത്രേ.

¹“I have said these things to you so that you wouldn’t be caused to stumble.

²They will put you out of the synagogues. Yes, the time is coming that whoever kills you will think that he offers service to God.

³They will do these things because they have not known the Father nor me.

⁴But I have told you these things so that when the time comes, you may remember that I told you about them. I didn’t tell you these things from the beginning, because I was with you.

⁵But now I am going to him who sent me, and none of you asks me, ‘Where are you going?’

⁶But because I have told you these things, sorrow has filled your heart.

⁷Nevertheless I tell you the truth: It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I don’t go away, the Counselor won’t come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you.

⁸When he has come, he will convict the world about sin, about righteousness, and about judgment;

⁹about sin, because they don’t believe in me;

¹⁰about righteousness, because I am going to my Father, and you won’t see me any more;

¹¹about judgment, because the prince of this world has been judged.

¹²“I still have many things to tell you, but you can’t bear them now.

¹³However, when he, the Spirit of truth, has come, he will guide you into all truth, for he will not speak from himself; but whatever he hears, he will speak. He will declare to you things that are coming.

¹⁴He will glorify me, for he will take from what is mine and will declare it to you.

¹⁵All things that the Father has are mine; therefore I said that he takes of mine and will declare it to you.

¹നിങ്ങൾ ഇടറിപ്പോകാതിരിപ്പാൻ ഞാൻ ഇതു നിങ്ങളോടു സംസാരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

⁹അവർ എന്നിൽ വിശ്വസിക്കായ്കകൊണ്ടു പാപത്തെക്കുറിച്ചും

¹⁰ഞാൻ പിതാവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ പോകയും നിങ്ങൾ ഇനി എന്നെ കാണാതിരിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു

¹¹നീതിയെക്കുറിച്ചും ഈ ലോകത്തിന്റെ പ്രഭു വിധിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കകൊണ്ടു ന്യായ വിധിയെക്കുറിച്ചും തന്നേ.
