¹⁷As he was going out into the way, one ran to him, knelt before him, and asked him, “Good Teacher, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?”

¹⁸Jesus said to him, “Why do you call me good? No one is good except one—God.

¹⁹You know the commandments: ‘Do not murder,’ ‘Do not commit adultery,’ ‘Do not steal,’ ‘Do not give false testimony,’ ‘Do not defraud,’ ‘Honor your father and mother.’ ”

²⁰He said to him, “Teacher, I have observed all these things from my youth.”

²¹Jesus looking at him loved him, and said to him, “One thing you lack. Go, sell whatever you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me, taking up the cross.”

²²But his face fell at that saying, and he went away sorrowful, for he was one who had great possessions.

¹⁷അവൻ പുറപ്പെട്ടു യാത്രചെയ്യുമ്പോൾ ഒരുവൻ ഔടിവന്നു അവന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ മുട്ടുകുത്തി: നല്ല ഗുരോ, നിത്യജീവനെ അവകാശം ആക്കുവാൻ ഞാൻ എന്തു ചെയ്യേണം എന്നു അവനോടു ചോദിച്ചു.

²¹യേശു അവനെ നോക്കി അവനെ സ്നേഹിച്ചു: ഒരു കുറവു നിനക്കുണ്ടു; നീ പോയി നിനക്കുള്ളതു എല്ലാം വിറ്റു ദരിദ്രർക്കും കൊടുക്ക; എന്നാൽ നിനക്കു സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിൽ നിക്ഷേപം ഉണ്ടാകും; പിന്നെ വന്നു എന്നെ അനുഗമിക്ക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

²²അവൻ വളരെ സമ്പത്തുള്ളവൻ ആകകൊണ്ടു ഈ വചനത്തിങ്കൽ വിഷാദിച്ചു ദുഃഖിതനായി പൊയ്ക്കളഞ്ഞു.

¹⁶Behold, one came to him and said, “Good teacher, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?”

¹⁷He said to him, “Why do you call me good? No one is good but one, that is, God. But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments.”

¹⁸He said to him, “Which ones?”

¹⁹‘Honor your father and your mother.’ And, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ ”

²⁰The young man said to him, “All these things I have observed from my youth. What do I still lack?”

²¹Jesus said to him, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you have, and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.”

²²But when the young man heard this, he went away sad, for he was one who had great possessions.

²³Jesus said to his disciples, “Most certainly I say to you, a rich man will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven with difficulty.

²⁴Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through a needle’s eye than for a rich man to enter into God’s Kingdom.”

²⁵When the disciples heard it, they were exceedingly astonished, saying, “Who then can be saved?”

²⁶Looking at them, Jesus said, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

²⁷Then Peter answered, “Behold, we have left everything and followed you. What then will we have?”

²⁸Jesus said to them, “Most certainly I tell you that you who have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of Man will sit on the throne of his glory, you also will sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

²⁹Everyone who has left houses, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name’s sake, will receive one hundred times, and will inherit eternal life.

³⁰But many will be last who are first, and first who are last.

¹⁶അനന്തരം ഒരുത്തൻ വന്നു അവനോടു: ഗുരോ, നിത്യജീവനെ പ്രാപിപ്പാൻ ഞാൻ എന്തു നന്മ ചെയ്യേണം എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു

¹⁷അവൻ : “എന്നോടു നന്മയെക്കുറിച്ചു ചോദിക്കുന്നതു എന്തു? നല്ലവൻ ഒരുത്തനേ ഉള്ളു. ജീവനിൽ കടപ്പാൻ ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നു എങ്കിൽ കല്പനകളെ പ്രമാണിക്ക” എന്നു അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

¹⁸ഏവ എന്നു അവൻ ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു യേശു: “കുല ചെയ്യരുതു, വ്യഭിചാരം ചെയ്യരുതു, മോഷ്ടിക്കരുതു, കള്ളസ്സാക്ഷ്യം പറയരുതു;

¹⁹അപ്പനെയും അമ്മയെയും ബഹുമാനിക്ക; കൂട്ടുകാരനെ നിന്നെപ്പോലെ തന്നേ സ്നേഹിക്ക എന്നിവ തന്നേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.”

²⁰യൌവനക്കാരൻ അവനോടു: ഇവ ഒക്കെയും ഞാൻ പ്രമാണിച്ചു പോരുന്നു; ഇനി കുറവുള്ളതു എന്തു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

²¹യേശു അവനോടു: “സൽഗുണപൂർണ്ണൻ ആകുവാൻ ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നു എങ്കിൽ നീ ചെന്നു നിനക്കുള്ളതു വിറ്റു ദരിദ്രർക്കും കൊടുക്ക; എന്നാൽ സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിൽ നിനക്കു നിക്ഷേപം ഉണ്ടാകും;” പിന്നെ വന്നു “എന്നെ അനുഗമിക്ക” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

²²യൌവനക്കാരൻ വളരെ സമ്പത്തുള്ളവനാകയാൽ ഈ വചനം കേട്ടിട്ടു ദുഃഖിച്ചു പൊയ്ക്കളഞ്ഞു.

²³യേശു തന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരോടു: ധനവാൻ സ്വർഗ്ഗരാജ്യത്തിൽ കടക്കുന്നതു പ്രയാസം തന്നേ എന്നു ഞാൻ സത്യമായിട്ടു നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

²⁴ധനവാൻ ദൈവരാജ്യത്തിൽ കടക്കുന്നതിനെക്കാൾ ഒട്ടകം സൂചിക്കുഴയൂടെ കടക്കുന്നതു എളുപ്പം എന്നും ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

²⁵അതുകേട്ടു ശിഷ്യന്മാർ ഏറ്റവും വിസ്മയിച്ചു: എന്നാൽ രക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടുവാൻ ആർക്കും കഴിയും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

²⁶യേശു അവരെ നോക്കി: “അതു മനുഷ്യർക്കും അസാദ്ധ്യം എങ്കിലും ദൈവത്തിന്നു സകലവും സാദ്ധ്യം” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

³⁰എങ്കിലും മുമ്പന്മാർ പലർ പിമ്പന്മാരും പിമ്പന്മാർ മുമ്പന്മാരും ആകും.”

¹Yahweh said to Moses on Mount Sinai,

²“Speak to the children of Israel, and tell them, ‘When you come into the land which I give you, then the land shall keep a Sabbath to Yahweh.

³You shall sow your field six years, and you shall prune your vineyard six years, and gather in its fruits;

⁴but in the seventh year there shall be a Sabbath of solemn rest for the land, a Sabbath to Yahweh. You shall not sow your field or prune your vineyard.

⁵What grows of itself in your harvest you shall not reap, and you shall not gather the grapes of your undressed vine. It shall be a year of solemn rest for the land.

⁶The Sabbath of the land shall be for food for you; for yourself, for your servant, for your maid, for your hired servant, and for your stranger, who lives as a foreigner with you.

⁷For your livestock also, and for the animals that are in your land, shall all its increase be for food.

⁸“ ‘You shall count off seven Sabbaths of years, seven times seven years; and there shall be to you the days of seven Sabbaths of years, even forty-nine years.

⁹Then you shall sound the loud trumpet on the tenth day of the seventh month. On the Day of Atonement you shall sound the trumpet throughout all your land.

¹⁰You shall make the fiftieth year holy, and proclaim liberty throughout the land to all its inhabitants. It shall be a jubilee to you; and each of you shall return to his own property, and each of you shall return to his family.

¹¹That fiftieth year shall be a jubilee to you. In it you shall not sow, neither reap that which grows of itself, nor gather from the undressed vines.

¹²For it is a jubilee; it shall be holy to you. You shall eat of its increase out of the field.

¹³“ ‘In this Year of Jubilee each of you shall return to his property.

¹യഹോവ സീനായിപർവ്വതത്തിൽവെച്ചു മോശെയോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതതു: ശബ്ബത്തു ആചരിക്കേണം.

³ആറു സംവത്സരം നിന്റെ നിലം വിതെക്കേണം; അവ്വണ്ണം ആറു സംവത്സരം നിന്റെ മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടം വള്ളിത്തല മുറിച്ചു അനുഭവം എടുക്കേണം.

⁴ഏഴാം സംവത്സരത്തിലോ ദേശത്തിന്നു സ്വസ്ഥതയുള്ള ശബ്ബത്തായ യഹോവയുടെ ശബ്ബത്ത് ആയിരിക്കേണം; നിന്റെ നിലം വിതെക്കയും മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടം വള്ളിത്തല മുറിക്കയും ചെയ്യരുതു.

⁶ദേശത്തിന്റെ ശബ്ബത്തിൽ താനേ വിളയുന്നതു നിങ്ങളുടെ ആഹാരമായിരിക്കേണം; നിനക്കും നിന്റെ ദാസന്നും ദാസിക്കും കൂലിക്കാരന്നും നിന്നോടുകൂടെ പാർക്കുംന്ന പരദേശിക്കും

⁷നിന്റെ കന്നുകാലിക്കും കാട്ടുമൃഗത്തിന്നും അതിന്റെ അനുഭവം ഒക്കെയും ആഹാരമായിരിക്കേണം.

⁸പിന്നെ ഏഴു ശബ്ബത്താണ്ടായ ഏഴേഴുസംവത്സരം എണ്ണേണം; അങ്ങനെ ഏഴു സബ്ബത്താണ്ടായ നാല്പത്തൊമ്പതു സംവത്സരം കഴിയേണം.

⁹അപ്പോൾ ഏഴാം മാസം പത്താം തിയ്യതി മഹാധ്വനികാഹളം ധ്വനിപ്പിക്കേണം; പാപപരിഹാരദിവസത്തിൽ നിങ്ങൾ നിങ്ങളുടെ ദേശത്തു എല്ലാടവും കാഹളം ധ്വനിപ്പിക്കേണം.

¹⁰അമ്പതാം സംവത്സരത്തെ ശുദ്ധീകരിച്ചു ദേശത്തെല്ലാടവും സകലനിവാസികൾക്കും സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യം പ്രസിദ്ധമാക്കേണം; അതു നിങ്ങൾക്കു യോബേൽസംവത്സരമായിരിക്കേണം: നിങ്ങൾ താന്താന്റെ അവകാശത്തിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിപ്പോകേണം; ഔരോരുത്തൻ താന്താന്റെ കുടുംബത്തിലേക്കും മടങ്ങിപ്പോകേണം.

⁵No man will be able to stand before you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not fail you nor forsake you.

⁶“Be strong and courageous; for you shall cause this people to inherit the land which I swore to their fathers to give them.

⁷Only be strong and very courageous. Be careful to observe to do according to all the law which Moses my servant commanded you. Don’t turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may have good success wherever you go.

⁸This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it; for then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall have good success.

⁹Haven’t I commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Don’t be afraid. Don’t be dismayed, for Yahweh your God is with you wherever you go.”

⁵നിന്റെ ജീവകാലത്തു ഒരിക്കലും ഒരു മനുഷ്യനും നിന്റെ നേരെ നിൽക്കയില്ല; ഞാൻ മോശെയോടുകൂടെ ഇരുന്നതു പോലെ നിന്നോടുകൂടെയും ഇരിക്കും; ഞാൻ നിന്നെ കൈ വിടുകയില്ല, ഉപേക്ഷിക്കയും ഇല്ല.

⁷എന്റെ ദാസനായ മോശെ നിന്നോടു കല്പിച്ചിട്ടുള്ള ന്യായപ്രമാണമൊക്കെയും അനുസരിച്ചു നടക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നല്ല ഉറപ്പും ധൈര്യവും ഉള്ളവനായി മാത്രം ഇരിക്ക; ചെല്ലുന്നേടത്തൊക്കെയും നീ ശുഭമായിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അതു വിട്ടു ഇടത്തോട്ടോ വലത്തോട്ടോ മാറരുതു.

²³Sing, you heavens, for Yahweh has done it!

²⁴Yahweh, your Redeemer,

²⁵who frustrates the signs of the liars,

²⁶who confirms the word of his servant,

²⁷who says to the deep, ‘Be dry,’

²⁸who says of Cyrus, ‘He is my shepherd, and shall perform all my pleasure,’

²⁵ഞാൻ ജല്പകന്മാരുടെ ശകുനങ്ങളെ വ്യർത്ഥമാക്കുകയും പ്രശ്നക്കാരെ ഭ്രാന്തന്മാരാക്കുകയും ജ്ഞാനികളെ മടക്കി അവരുടെ ജ്ഞാനത്തെ ഭോഷത്വമാക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.

²⁶ഞാൻ എന്റെ ദാസന്റെ വചനം നിവർത്തിച്ചു എന്റെ ദൂതന്മാരുടെ ആലോചന അനുഷ്ഠിക്കുന്നു; യെരൂശലേമിൽ നിവാസികൾ ഉണ്ടാകുമെന്നും യെഹൂദാനഗരങ്ങൾ പണിയപ്പെടും ഞാൻ അവയുടെ ഇടിവുകളെ നന്നാക്കും എന്നും കല്പിക്കുന്നു.

⁷When we had finished the voyage from Tyre, we arrived at Ptolemais. We greeted the brothers and stayed with them one day.

⁸On the next day, we who were Paul’s companions departed and came to Caesarea.

⁹Now this man had four virgin daughters who prophesied.

¹³But now I come to you, and I say these things in the world, that they may have my joy made full in themselves.

¹⁴I have given them your word. The world hated them because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

¹⁵I pray not that you would take them from the world, but that you would keep them from the evil one.

¹⁶They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

¹⁷Sanctify them in your truth. Your word is truth.

¹⁸As you sent me into the world, even so I have sent them into the world.

¹⁹For their sakes I sanctify myself, that they themselves also may be sanctified in truth.

²⁰“Not for these only do I pray, but for those also who will believe in me through their word,

²¹that they may all be one; even as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be one in us; that the world may believe that you sent me.

²²The glory which you have given me, I have given to them, that they may be one, even as we are one,

²³I in them, and you in me, that they may be perfected into one, that the world may know that you sent me and loved them, even as you loved me.

²⁴Father, I desire that they also whom you have given me be with me where I am, that they may see my glory which you have given me, for you loved me before the foundation of the world.

²⁵Righteous Father, the world hasn’t known you, but I knew you; and these knew that you sent me.

²⁶I made known to them your name, and will make it known; that the love with which you loved me may be in them, and I in them.”

¹⁹അവരും സാക്ഷാൽ വിശുദ്ധീകരിക്കപ്പെട്ടവർ ആകേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാൻ അവർക്കും വേണ്ടി എന്നെത്തന്നേ വിശുദ്ധീകരിക്കുന്നു.

²⁰ഇവർക്കും വേണ്ടിമാത്രമല്ല, ഇവരുടെ വചനത്താൽ എന്നിൽ വിശ്വസിപ്പാനിരിക്കുന്നവർക്കും വേണ്ടിയും ഞാൻ അപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നു.

²¹നീ എന്നെ അയച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ലോകം വിശ്വസിപ്പാൻ അവർ എല്ലാവരും ഒന്നാകേണ്ടതിന്നു, പിതാവേ, നീ എന്നിലും ഞാൻ നിന്നിലും ആകുന്നതുപോലെ അവരും നമ്മിൽ ആകേണ്ടതിന്നു തന്നേ.

²²നീ എനിക്കു തന്നിട്ടുള്ള മഹത്വം ഞാൻ അവർക്കും കൊടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു;

²⁴പിതാവേ, നീ ലോകസ്ഥാപനത്തിന്നു മുമ്പെ എന്നെ സ്നേഹിച്ചരിക്കകൊണ്ടു എനിക്കു നല്കിയ മഹത്വം നീ എനിക്കു തന്നിട്ടുള്ളവർ കാണേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാൻ ഇരിക്കുന്ന ഇടത്തു അവരും എന്നോടു കൂടെ ഇരിക്കേണം എന്നു ഞാൻ ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നു.

²⁵നീതിയുള്ള പിതാവേ, ലോകം നിന്നെ അറിഞ്ഞിട്ടില്ല; ഞാനോ നിന്നെ അറിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു; നീ എന്നെ അയച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഇവരും അറിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.
