Coming Sunday's Readings

¹As he went out of the temple, one of his disciples said to him, “Teacher, see what kind of stones and what kind of buildings!”

²Jesus said to him, “Do you see these great buildings? There will not be left here one stone on another, which will not be thrown down.”

³As he sat on the Mount of Olives opposite the temple, Peter, James, John, and Andrew asked him privately,

⁴“Tell us, when will these things be? What is the sign that these things are all about to be fulfilled?”

⁵Jesus, answering, began to tell them, “Be careful that no one leads you astray.

⁶For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am he!’ and will lead many astray.

⁷“When you hear of wars and rumors of wars, don’t be troubled. For those must happen, but the end is not yet.

⁸For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes in various places. There will be famines and troubles. These things are the beginning of birth pains.

⁹“But watch yourselves, for they will deliver you up to councils. You will be beaten in synagogues. You will stand before rulers and kings for my sake, for a testimony to them.

¹⁰The Good News must first be preached to all the nations.

¹¹When they lead you away and deliver you up, don’t be anxious beforehand or premeditate what you will say, but say whatever will be given you in that hour. For it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit.

¹²“Brother will deliver up brother to death, and the father his child. Children will rise up against parents and cause them to be put to death.

¹³You will be hated by all men for my name’s sake, but he who endures to the end will be saved.

¹⁴“But when you see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not” (let the reader understand), “then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains,

¹⁵and let him who is on the housetop not go down, nor enter in, to take anything out of his house.

¹⁶Let him who is in the field not return back to take his cloak.

¹⁷But woe to those who are with child and to those who nurse babies in those days!

¹⁸Pray that your flight won’t be in the winter.

¹⁹For in those days there will be oppression, such as there has not been the like from the beginning of the creation which God created until now, and never will be.

²⁰Unless the Lord had shortened the days, no flesh would have been saved; but for the sake of the chosen ones, whom he picked out, he shortened the days.

²¹Then if anyone tells you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or, ‘Look, there!’ don’t believe it.

²²For false christs and false prophets will arise and will show signs and wonders, that they may lead astray, if possible, even the chosen ones.

²³But you watch.

²⁴But in those days, after that oppression, the sun will be darkened, the moon will not give its light,

²⁵the stars will be falling from the sky, and the powers that are in the heavens will be shaken.

²⁶Then they will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory.

²⁷Then he will send out his angels, and will gather together his chosen ones from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of the sky.

²⁸“Now from the fig tree, learn this parable. When the branch has now become tender and produces its leaves, you know that the summer is near;

²⁹even so you also, when you see these things coming to pass, know that it is near, at the doors.

³⁰Most certainly I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things happen.

³¹Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.

³²“But of that day or that hour no one knows—not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.

³³Watch, keep alert, and pray; for you don’t know when the time is.

¹Jesus went out from the temple, and was going on his way. His disciples came to him to show him the buildings of the temple.

²But he answered them, “You see all of these things, don’t you? Most certainly I tell you, there will not be left here one stone on another, that will not be thrown down.”

³As he sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be? What is the sign of your coming, and of the end of the age?”

⁴Jesus answered them, “Be careful that no one leads you astray.

⁶You will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you aren’t troubled, for all this must happen, but the end is not yet.

⁷For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; and there will be famines, plagues, and earthquakes in various places.

⁸But all these things are the beginning of birth pains.

⁹“Then they will deliver you up to oppression and will kill you. You will be hated by all of the nations for my name’s sake.

¹⁰Then many will stumble, and will deliver up one another, and will hate one another.

¹¹Many false prophets will arise and will lead many astray.

¹²Because iniquity will be multiplied, the love of many will grow cold.

¹³But he who endures to the end will be saved.

¹⁴This Good News of the Kingdom will be preached in the whole world for a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come.

¹⁵“When, therefore, you see the abomination of desolation, which was spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand),

¹⁶then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.

¹⁷Let him who is on the housetop not go down to take out the things that are in his house.

¹⁸Let him who is in the field not return back to get his clothes.

¹⁹But woe to those who are with child and to nursing mothers in those days!

²⁰Pray that your flight will not be in the winter nor on a Sabbath,

²¹for then there will be great suffering, such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, nor ever will be.

²²Unless those days had been shortened, no flesh would have been saved. But for the sake of the chosen ones, those days will be shortened.

²³“Then if any man tells you, ‘Behold, here is the Christ!’ or, ‘There!’ don’t believe it.

²⁸For wherever the carcass is, that is where the vultures gather together.

²⁹“But immediately after the suffering of those days, the sun will be darkened, the moon will not give its light, the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken;

³⁰and then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky. Then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky with power and great glory.

³¹He will send out his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together his chosen ones from the four winds, from one end of the sky to the other.

¹²അധർമ്മം പെരുകുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു അനേകരുടെ സ്നേഹം തണുത്തുപോകും.

¹³എന്നാൽ അവസാനത്തോളം സഹിച്ചു നിലക്കുന്നവൻ രക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടും.

¹⁴രാജ്യത്തിന്റെ ഈ സുവിശേഷം സകലജാതികൾക്കും സാക്ഷ്യമായി ഭൂലോകത്തിൽ ഒക്കെയും പ്രസംഗിക്കപ്പെടും; അപ്പോൾ അവസാനം വരും.

⁴They traveled from Mount Hor by the way to the Red Sea, to go around the land of Edom. The soul of the people was very discouraged because of the journey.

⁵The people spoke against God and against Moses: “Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? For there is no bread, there is no water, and our soul loathes this disgusting food!”

⁶Yahweh sent venomous snakes among the people, and they bit the people. Many people of Israel died.

⁷The people came to Moses, and said, “We have sinned, because we have spoken against Yahweh and against you. Pray to Yahweh, that he take away the serpents from us.” Moses prayed for the people.

⁸Yahweh said to Moses, “Make a venomous snake, and set it on a pole. It shall happen that everyone who is bitten, when he sees it, shall live.”

⁹Moses made a serpent of bronze, and set it on the pole. If a serpent had bitten any man, when he looked at the serpent of bronze, he lived.

³⁷David said, “Yahweh, who delivered me out of the paw of the lion and out of the paw of the bear, will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine.”

³⁸Saul dressed David with his clothing. He put a helmet of bronze on his head, and he clad him with a coat of mail.

³⁹David strapped his sword on his clothing and he tried to move, for he had not tested it. David said to Saul, “I can’t go with these, for I have not tested them.” Then David took them off.

⁴⁰He took his staff in his hand, and chose for himself five smooth stones out of the brook, and put them in the pouch of his shepherd’s bag which he had. His sling was in his hand; and he came near to the Philistine.

⁴¹The Philistine walked and came near to David; and the man who bore the shield went before him.

⁴²When the Philistine looked around and saw David, he disdained him; for he was but a youth, and ruddy, and had a good looking face.

⁴³The Philistine said to David, “Am I a dog, that you come to me with sticks?” The Philistine cursed David by his gods.

⁴⁴The Philistine said to David, “Come to me, and I will give your flesh to the birds of the sky and to the animals of the field.”

⁴⁵Then David said to the Philistine, “You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin; but I come to you in the name of Yahweh of Armies, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.

⁴⁶Today, Yahweh will deliver you into my hand. I will strike you and take your head from off you. I will give the dead bodies of the army of the Philistines today to the birds of the sky and to the wild animals of the earth, that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel,

⁴⁷and that all this assembly may know that Yahweh doesn’t save with sword and spear; for the battle is Yahweh’s, and he will give you into our hand.”

⁴⁸When the Philistine arose, and walked and came near to meet David, David hurried and ran toward the army to meet the Philistine.

⁴⁹David put his hand in his bag, took a stone and slung it, and struck the Philistine in his forehead. The stone sank into his forehead, and he fell on his face to the earth.

⁵⁰So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and with a stone, and struck the Philistine and killed him; but there was no sword in David’s hand.

⁵¹Then David ran, stood over the Philistine, took his sword, drew it out of its sheath, killed him, and cut off his head with it.

⁵²The men of Israel and of Judah arose and shouted, and pursued the Philistines as far as Gai and to the gates of Ekron. The wounded of the Philistines fell down by the way to Shaaraim, even to Gath and to Ekron.

⁵³The children of Israel returned from chasing after the Philistines, and they plundered their camp.

⁴⁹ദാവീദ് സഞ്ചിയിൽ കയ്യിട്ടു ഒരു കല്ലു എടുത്തു കവിണയിൽവെച്ചു വീശി ഫെലിസ്ത്യന്റെ നെറ്റിക്കു എറിഞ്ഞു. കല്ലു അവന്റെ നെറ്റിയിൽ കൊണ്ടു പതിഞ്ഞു;

⁵⁰അവൻ കവിണ്ണുവീണു. ഇങ്ങനെ ദാവീദ് ഒരു കവിണയും ഒരു കല്ലുംകൊണ്ടു ഫെലിസ്ത്യനെ ജയിച്ചു, ഫെലിസ്ത്യനെ കൊന്നു മുടിച്ചു; എന്നാൽ ദാവീദിന്റെ കയ്യിൽ വാൾ ഇല്ലായിരുന്നു.

⁵¹ആകയാൽ ദാവീദ് ഔടിച്ചെന്നു ഫെലിസ്ത്യന്റെ പുറത്തു കയറിനിന്നു അവന്റെ വാൾ ഉറയിൽനിന്നു ഊരിയെടുത്തു അവനെ കൊന്നു, അവന്റെ തല വെട്ടിക്കളഞ്ഞു. തങ്ങളുടെ മല്ലൻ മരിച്ചുപോയി എന്നു ഫെലിസ്ത്യർ കണ്ടിട്ടു ഔടിപ്പോയി.

⁵²യിസ്രായേല്യരും യെഹൂദ്യരും പുറപ്പെട്ടു ആർത്തുംകൊണ്ടു ഗത്തും എക്രോൻ വാതിലുകളുംവരെ ഫെലിസ്ത്യരെ പിന്തുടർന്നു; ഫെലിസ്ത്യഹതന്മാർ ശയരയീമിന്നുള്ള വഴിയിൽ ഗത്തും എക്രോനുംവരെ വീണുകിടന്നു.

⁵³ഇങ്ങനെ യിസ്രായേൽമക്കൾ ഫെലിസ്ത്യരെ ഔടിക്കയും മടങ്ങിവന്നു അവരുടെ പാളയം കൊള്ളയിടുകയും ചെയ്തു.

³⁶Now therefore Yahweh, the God of Israel, says concerning this city, about which you say, “It is given into the hand of the king of Babylon by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence:”

³⁷“Behold, I will gather them out of all the countries where I have driven them in my anger, and in my wrath, and in great indignation; and I will bring them again to this place. I will cause them to dwell safely.

³⁸Then they will be my people, and I will be their God.

³⁹I will give them one heart and one way, that they may fear me forever, for their good and the good of their children after them.

⁴⁰I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from following them, to do them good. I will put my fear in their hearts, that they may not depart from me.

⁴¹Yes, I will rejoice over them to do them good, and I will plant them in this land assuredly with my whole heart and with my whole soul.”

³⁹അവർക്കും അവരുടെ ശേഷം അവരുടെ മക്കൾക്കും ഗണംവരത്തക്കവണ്ണം അവർ എന്നെ എന്നേക്കും ഭയപ്പെടേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാൻ അവർക്കും ഏകമനസ്സും ഏകമാർഗ്ഗവും കൊടുക്കും.

⁴⁰ഞാൻ അവരെ വിട്ടുപിരിയാതെ അവർക്കും നന്മ ചെയ്തുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കും എന്നിങ്ങനെ ഞാൻ അവരോടു ഒരു ശാശ്വതനിയമം ചെയ്യും; അവർ എന്നെ വിട്ടുമാറാതെയിരിപ്പാൻ എങ്കലുള്ള ഭക്തി ഞാൻ അവരുടെ ഹൃദയത്തിൽ ആക്കും.

⁴¹ഞാൻ അവരിൽ സന്തോഷിച്ചു അവർക്കും ഗുണം ചെയ്യും. ഞാൻ പൂർണ്ണഹൃദയത്തോടും പൂർണ്ണമനസ്സോടും കൂടെ അവരെ ഈ ദേശത്തു നടും.

²⁶“Brothers, children of the stock of Abraham, and those among you who fear God, the word of this salvation is sent out to you.

²⁷For those who dwell in Jerusalem, and their rulers, because they didn’t know him, nor the voices of the prophets which are read every Sabbath, fulfilled them by condemning him.

²⁸Though they found no cause for death, they still asked Pilate to have him killed.

²⁹When they had fulfilled all things that were written about him, they took him down from the tree and laid him in a tomb.

³⁰But God raised him from the dead,

³¹and he was seen for many days by those who came up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are his witnesses to the people.

³²We bring you good news of the promise made to the fathers,

³³that God has fulfilled this to us, their children, in that he raised up Jesus. As it is also written in the second psalm,

³⁴“Concerning that he raised him up from the dead, now no more to return to corruption, he has spoken thus: ‘I will give you the holy and sure blessings of David.’

³⁵Therefore he says also in another psalm, ‘You will not allow your Holy One to see decay.’

³⁶For David, after he had in his own generation served the counsel of God, fell asleep, was laid with his fathers, and saw decay.

³⁷But he whom God raised up saw no decay.

³⁸Be it known to you therefore, brothers, that through this man is proclaimed to you remission of sins;

³⁹and by him everyone who believes is justified from all things, from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses.

²⁹അവനെക്കുറിച്ചിു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നത് ഒക്കെയും തികെച്ചശേഷം അവർ അവനെ മരത്തിൽനിന്നു ഇറക്കി ഒരു കല്ലറയിൽ വെച്ചു.

³⁰ദൈവമോ അവനെ മരിച്ചവരിൽ നിന്നു ഉയിർത്തെഴുന്നേല്പിച്ചു;

³¹അവൻ തന്നോടുകൂടെ ഗലീലയിൽനിന്നു യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു വന്നവർക്കും ഏറിയ ദിവസം പ്രത്യക്ഷനായി; അവർ ഇപ്പോൾ ജനത്തിന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ അവന്റെ സാക്ഷികൾ ആകുന്നു.

³²ദൈവം പിതാക്കന്മാരോടു ചെയ്ത വാഗ്ദത്തം യേശുവിനെ ഉയിർത്തെഴുന്നേല്പിച്ചതിനാൽ മക്കൾക്കു നിവർത്തിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഞങ്ങൾ നിങ്ങളോടു സുവിശേഷിക്കുന്നു.

³³നീ എന്റെ പുത്രൻ ; ഇന്നു ഞാൻ നിന്നെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചു എന്നു രണ്ടാം സങ്കീർത്തനത്തിൽ എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നു വല്ലോ.

³⁴ഇനി ദ്രവത്വത്തിലേക്കു തിരിയാതവണ്ണം അവൻ അവനെ മരിച്ചവരിനിന്നു എഴുന്നേല്പിച്ചതിനെക്കുറിച്ചു അവൻ : ദാവീദിന്റെ സ്ഥിരമായുള്ള വിശുദ്ധ കൃപകെള ഞാൻ നിങ്ങൾക്കു നലകും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു

³⁵മറ്റൊരു സങ്കിർത്തനത്തിലും: നിന്റെ പരിശുദ്ധനെ ദ്രവത്വം കാണ്മാൻ നീ വിട്ടുകൊടുക്കയില്ല എന്നു പറയുന്നു.

³⁶ദാവീദ് തന്റെ തലമുറയിൽ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ആലോചനെക്കു ശുശ്രൂഷ ചെയ്തശേഷം നിദ്ര പ്രാപിച്ചു തന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോടു ചേർന്നു ദ്രവത്വം കണ്ടു.

³⁷ദൈവം ഉയിർത്തെഴുന്നേല്പിച്ചവനോ ദ്രവത്വം കണ്ടില്ല. ആകയാൽ സഹോദരന്മാരേ,

³⁸ഇവൻ മൂലം നിങ്ങളോടു പാപമോചനം അറിയിക്കുന്നു എന്നും

³⁹മോശെയുടെ ന്യായപ്രമാണത്താൽ നിങ്ങൾക്കു നീതീകരണം വരുവാൻ കഴിയാത്ത സകലത്തിൽ നിന്നും വിശ്വസിക്കുന്ന ഏവനും ഇവനാൽ നീതീകരിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു എന്നും നിങ്ങൾ അറിഞ്ഞുകൊൾവിൻ .

¹⁷But if while we sought to be justified in Christ, we ourselves also were found sinners, is Christ a servant of sin? Certainly not!

¹⁸For if I build up again those things which I destroyed, I prove myself a law-breaker.

¹⁹For I through the law died to the law, that I might live to God.

²⁰I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. That life which I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself up for me.

²¹I don’t reject the grace of God. For if righteousness is through the law, then Christ died for nothing!”

¹Foolish Galatians, who has bewitched you not to obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was openly portrayed among you as crucified?

²I just want to learn this from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by hearing of faith?

³Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now completed in the flesh?

⁴Did you suffer so many things in vain, if it is indeed in vain?

⁵He therefore who supplies the Spirit to you and does miracles among you, does he do it by the works of the law, or by hearing of faith?

⁶Even so, Abraham “believed God, and it was counted to him for righteousness.”

⁷Know therefore that those who are of faith are children of Abraham.

⁸The Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the Good News beforehand to Abraham, saying, “In you all the nations will be blessed.”

⁹So then, those who are of faith are blessed with the faithful Abraham.

¹⁰For as many as are of the works of the law are under a curse. For it is written, “Cursed is everyone who doesn’t continue in all things that are written in the book of the law, to do them.”

¹¹Now that no man is justified by the law before God is evident, for, “The righteous will live by faith.”

¹²The law is not of faith, but, “The man who does them will live by them.”

¹³Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us. For it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree,”

¹⁴that the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

¹⁷എന്നാൽ ക്രിസ്തുവിൽ നീതീകരണം അന്വേഷിക്കയിൽ നാമും പാപികൾ എന്നു വരുന്നു എങ്കിൽ ക്രിസ്തു പാപത്തിന്റെ ശുശ്രൂഷക്കാരൻ എന്നോ? ഒരുനാളം അല്ല.

¹⁸ഞാൻ പൊളിച്ചതു വീണ്ടും പണിതാൽ ഞാൻ ലംഘനക്കാരൻ എന്നു എന്നെത്തന്നേ തെളിയിക്കുന്നു.

¹⁹ഞാൻ ദൈവത്തിന്നായി ജീവിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ന്യായപ്രമാണത്താൽ ന്യായപ്രമാണസംബന്ധമായി മരിച്ചു.

²⁰ഞാൻ ക്രിസ്തുവിനോടുകൂടെ ക്രൂശിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; ഇനി ജീവിക്കുന്നതു ഞാനല്ല ക്രിസ്തുവത്രേ എന്നിൽ ജീവിക്കുന്നു; ഇപ്പോൾ ഞാൻ ജഡത്തിൽ ജീവിക്കുന്നതോ എന്നെ സ്നേഹിച്ചു എനിക്കു വേണ്ടി തന്നെത്താൻ ഏല്പിച്ചുകൊടുത്ത ദൈവപുത്രങ്കലുള്ള വിശ്വാസത്താലത്രേ ജീവിക്കുന്നതു

²¹ഞാൻ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ കൃപ വൃഥാവാക്കുന്നില്ല ന്യായപ്രമാണത്താൽ നീതിവരുന്നു എങ്കിൽ ക്രിസ്തു മരിച്ചതു വെറുതെയല്ലോ.

¹ഹാ ബുദ്ധിയില്ലാത്ത ഗലാത്യരേ, യേശു ക്രിസ്തു ക്രൂശിക്കപ്പെട്ടവനായി നിങ്ങളുടെ കണ്ണിന്നു മുമ്പിൽ വരെച്ചുകിട്ടിയിരിക്കെ നിങ്ങളെ ക്ഷുദ്രംചെയ്തു മയക്കിയതു ആർ?

²ഞാൻ ഇതൊന്നു മാത്രം നിങ്ങളോടു ഗ്രഹിപ്പാൻ ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നു; നിങ്ങൾക്കു ആത്മാവു ലഭിച്ചതു ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തിയാലോ വിശ്വാസത്തിന്റെ പ്രസംഗം കേട്ടതിനാലോ?

³നിങ്ങൾ ഇത്ര ബുദ്ധികെട്ടവരോ? ആത്മാവുകൊണ്ടു ആരംഭിച്ചിട്ടു ഇപ്പോൾ ജഡംകൊണ്ടോ സമാപിക്കുന്നതു? ഇത്ര എല്ലാം വെറുതെ അനുഭവിച്ചുവോ?

⁴വെറുതെ അത്രേ എന്നു വരികിൽ,

⁵എന്നാൽ നിങ്ങൾക്കു ആത്മാവിനെ നല്കി നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിൽ വീര്യപ്രവൃത്തികളെ ചെയ്യുന്നവൻ ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തിയാലോ വിശ്വാസത്തിന്റെ പ്രസംഗത്താലോ അങ്ങനെ ചെയ്യുന്നതു?

⁶അബ്രാഹാം ദൈവത്തിൽ വിശ്വസിച്ചു; അതു അവന്നു നീതിയായി കണക്കിട്ടു എന്നുണ്ടല്ലോ.

⁷അതുകൊണ്ടു വിശ്വാസികൾ അത്രേ അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെ മക്കൾ എന്നു അറിവിൻ .

⁸എന്നാൽ ദൈവം വിശ്വാസംമൂലം ജാതികളെ നീതീകരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു തിരുവെഴുത്തു മുൻ കണ്ടിട്ടു: “നിന്നാൽ സകലജാതികളും അനുഗ്രഹിക്കപ്പെടും” എന്നുള്ള സുവിശേഷം അബ്രാഹാമിനോടു മുമ്പുകൂട്ടി അറിയിച്ചു.

¹⁰എന്നാൽ ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തിയിൽ ആശ്രയിക്കുന്ന ഏവരും ശാപത്തിൻ കീഴാകുന്നു; ന്യായപ്രമാണപുസ്തകത്തിൽ എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നതു ഒക്കെയും ചെയ്‍വാൻ തക്കവണ്ണം അതിൽ നിലനിൽക്കാത്തവൻ എല്ലാം ശപിക്കപ്പെട്ടവൻ എന്നു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.

¹¹എന്നാൽ ന്യായപ്രമാണത്താൽ ആരും ദൈവസന്നിധിയിൽ നീതീകരിക്കപ്പെടുന്നില്ല എന്നതു സ്പഷ്ടം; “നീതിമാൻ വിശ്വാസത്താൽ ജീവിക്കും” എന്നല്ലോ ഉള്ളതു.

¹²ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിന്നോ വിശ്വാസമല്ല ആധാരമായിരിക്കുന്നതു; “അതു ചെയ്യുന്നവൻ അതിനാൽ ജീവിക്കും” എന്നുണ്ടല്ലോ.

¹³“മരത്തിന്മേൽ തൂങ്ങുന്നവൻ എല്ലാം ശപിക്കപ്പെട്ടവൻ ”എന്നു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ ക്രിസ്തു നമുക്കുവേണ്ടി ശാപമായിത്തീർന്നു. ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിന്റെ ശാപത്തിൽനിന്നു നമ്മെ വിലെക്കു വാങ്ങി.

¹⁴അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെ അനുഗ്രഹം ക്രിസ്തുയേശുവിൽ ജാതികൾക്കു വരേണ്ടതിന്നു നാം ആത്മാവെന്ന വാഗ്ദത്തവിഷയം വിശ്വാസത്താൽ പ്രാപിപ്പാൻ തന്നേ.

⁵As some were talking about the temple and how it was decorated with beautiful stones and gifts, he said,

⁶“As for these things which you see, the days will come in which there will not be left here one stone on another that will not be thrown down.”

⁷They asked him, “Teacher, so when will these things be? What is the sign that these things are about to happen?”

⁸He said, “Watch out that you don’t get led astray, for many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am he ,’ and, ‘The time is at hand.’ Therefore don’t follow them.

⁹When you hear of wars and disturbances, don’t be terrified, for these things must happen first, but the end won’t come immediately.”

¹⁰Then he said to them, “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.

¹¹There will be great earthquakes, famines, and plagues in various places. There will be terrors and great signs from heaven.

¹²But before all these things, they will lay their hands on you and will persecute you, delivering you up to synagogues and prisons, bringing you before kings and governors for my name’s sake.

¹³It will turn out as a testimony for you.

¹⁴Settle it therefore in your hearts not to meditate beforehand how to answer,

¹⁵for I will give you a mouth and wisdom which all your adversaries will not be able to withstand or to contradict.

¹⁶You will be handed over even by parents, brothers, relatives, and friends. They will cause some of you to be put to death.

¹⁷You will be hated by all men for my name’s sake.

¹⁸And not a hair of your head will perish.

¹⁹“By your endurance you will win your lives.

²⁰“But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that its desolation is at hand.

²¹Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. Let those who are in the middle of her depart. Let those who are in the country not enter therein.

²²For these are days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.

²³Woe to those who are pregnant and to those who nurse infants in those days! For there will be great distress in the land and wrath to this people.

²⁴They will fall by the edge of the sword, and will be led captive into all the nations. Jerusalem will be trampled down by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.

²⁵“There will be signs in the sun, moon, and stars; and on the earth anxiety of nations, in perplexity for the roaring of the sea and the waves;

²⁶men fainting for fear and for expectation of the things which are coming on the world, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.

²⁷Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.

²⁸But when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is near.”

¹³അതു നിങ്ങൾക്കു സാക്ഷ്യം പറവാൻ തരം ആകും.

¹⁴ആകയാൽ പ്രതിവാദിപ്പാൻ മുമ്പുകൂട്ടി വിചാരിക്കാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു മനസ്സിൽ ഉറെച്ചുകൊൾവിൻ .

¹⁵നിങ്ങളുടെ എതിരികൾക്കു ആർക്കും ചെറുപ്പാനോ എതിർപറവാനോ കഴിയാത്ത വാക്കും ജ്ഞാനവും ഞാൻ നിങ്ങൾക്കു തരും.

¹⁶എന്നാൽ അമ്മയപ്പന്മാരും സഹോദരന്മാരും ചാർച്ചക്കാരും ചങ്ങാതികളും നിങ്ങളെ ഏല്പിച്ചുകൊടുക്കയും നിങ്ങളിൽ ചിലരെ കൊല്ലിക്കയും ചെയ്യും.

¹⁷എന്റെ നാമം നിമിത്തം എല്ലാവരും നിങ്ങളെ പകെക്കും.

¹⁸നിങ്ങളുടെ തലയിലെ ഒരു രോമംപോലും നശിച്ചുപോകയില്ലതാനും.

¹⁹നിങ്ങൾ ക്ഷമകൊണ്ടു നിങ്ങളുടെ പ്രാണനെ നേടും.

²⁰സൈന്യങ്ങൾ യെരൂശലേമിനെ വളഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നതു കാണുമ്പോൾ അതിന്റെ ശൂന്യകാലം അടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു അറിഞ്ഞുകൊൾവിൻ .

²¹അന്നു യെഹൂദ്യയിലുള്ളവർ മലകളിലേക്കു ഔടിപ്പോകട്ടെ; അതിന്റെ നടുവിലുള്ളവർ പുറപ്പെട്ടുപോകട്ടെ; നാട്ടുപുറങ്ങളിലുള്ളവർ അതിൽ കടക്കരുതു.

²²എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നതെല്ലാം നിവൃത്തിയാകേണ്ടതിന്നു ആ നാളുകൾ പ്രതികാരകാലം ആകുന്നു.

²³ആ കാലത്തു ഗർഭിണികൾക്കും മുല കുടിപ്പിക്കുന്നവർക്കും അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം! ദേശത്തു വലിയ ഞെരുക്കവും ഈ ജനത്തിന്മേൽ ക്രോധവും ഉണ്ടാകും.

²⁴അവർ വാളിന്റെ വായ്ത്തലയാൽ വീഴുകയും അവരെ സകലജാതികളിലേക്കും ബദ്ധരായി കൊണ്ടുപോകയും ജാതികളുടെ കാലം തികയുവോളം ജാതികൾ യെരൂശലേം ചവിട്ടിക്കളകയും ചെയ്യും.

²⁵സൂര്യനിലും ചന്ദ്രനിലും നക്ഷത്രങ്ങളിലും ലക്ഷ്യങ്ങൾ ഉണ്ടാകും; കടലിന്റെയും ഓളത്തിന്റെയും മുഴക്കം നിമിത്തം ഭൂമിയിലെ ജാതികൾക്കു നിരാശയോടു കൂടിയ പരിഭ്രമം ഉണ്ടാകും.

²⁶ആകാശത്തിന്റെ ശക്തികൾ ഇളകിപ്പോകുന്നതിനാൽ ഭൂലോകത്തിന്നു എന്തു ഭവിപ്പാൻ പോകുന്നു എന്നു പേടിച്ചും നോക്കിപ്പാർത്തുംകൊണ്ടു മനുഷ്യർ നിർജ്ജീവന്മാർ ആകും.

²⁷അപ്പോൾ മനുഷ്യപുത്രൻ ശക്തിയോടും മഹാതേജസ്സോടും കൂടെ മേഘത്തിൽ വരുന്നതു അവർ കാണും.
