³⁰I can of myself do nothing. As I hear, I judge; and my judgment is righteous, because I don’t seek my own will, but the will of my Father who sent me.

³¹“If I testify about myself, my witness is not valid.

³²It is another who testifies about me. I know that the testimony which he testifies about me is true.

³³You have sent to John, and he has testified to the truth.

³⁴But the testimony which I receive is not from man. However, I say these things that you may be saved.

³⁵He was the burning and shining lamp, and you were willing to rejoice for a while in his light.

³⁶But the testimony which I have is greater than that of John; for the works which the Father gave me to accomplish, the very works that I do, testify about me, that the Father has sent me.

³⁷The Father himself, who sent me, has testified about me. You have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his form.

³⁸You don’t have his word living in you, because you don’t believe him whom he sent.

³⁹“You search the Scriptures, because you think that in them you have eternal life; and these are they which testify about me.

⁴⁰Yet you will not come to me, that you may have life.

⁴¹I don’t receive glory from men.

⁴²But I know you, that you don’t have God’s love in yourselves.

⁴³I have come in my Father’s name, and you don’t receive me. If another comes in his own name, you will receive him.

⁴⁴How can you believe, who receive glory from one another, and you don’t seek the glory that comes from the only God?

⁴⁵“Don’t think that I will accuse you to the Father. There is one who accuses you, even Moses, on whom you have set your hope.

⁴⁶For if you believed Moses, you would believe me; for he wrote about me.

⁴⁷But if you don’t believe his writings, how will you believe my words?”

³⁰എനിക്കു സ്വതേ ഒന്നും ചെയ്‍വാൻ കഴിയുന്നതല്ല; ഞാൻ കേൾക്കുന്നതുപോലെ ന്യായം വിധിക്കുന്നു; ഞാൻ എന്റെ ഇഷ്ടം അല്ല, എന്നെ അയച്ചവന്റെ ഇഷ്ടമത്രേ ചെയ്‍വാൻ ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു എന്റെ വിധി നീതിയുള്ളതു ആകുന്നു.

³¹ഞാൻ എന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു തന്നേ സാക്ഷ്യം പറഞ്ഞാൽ എന്റെ സാക്ഷ്യം സത്യമല്ല.

³²എന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു സാക്ഷ്യം പറയുന്നതു മറ്റൊരുത്തൻ ആകുന്നു; അവൻ എന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു പറയുന്ന സാക്ഷ്യം സത്യം എന്നു ഞാൻ അറിയുന്നു.

³³നിങ്ങൾ യോഹാന്നാന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ആളയച്ചു; അവൻ സത്യത്തിന്നു സാക്ഷ്യം പറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.

³⁴എനിക്കോ മനുഷ്യന്റെ സാക്ഷ്യംകൊണ്ടു ആവശ്യമില്ല; നിങ്ങൾ രക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടുവാനത്രേ ഇതു പറയുന്നതു.

³⁵അവൻ ജ്വലിച്ചു പ്രകാശിക്കുന്ന വിളകൂ ആയിരുന്നു; നിങ്ങൾ അല്പസമയത്തേക്കു അവന്റെ വെളിച്ചത്തിൽ ഉല്ലസിപ്പാൻ ഇച്ഛിച്ചു.

³⁶എനിക്കോ യോഹന്നാന്റെ സാക്ഷ്യത്തിലും വലിയ സാക്ഷ്യം ഉണ്ടു; പിതാവു എനിക്കു അനുഷ്ഠിപ്പാൻ തന്നിരിക്കുന്ന പ്രവൃത്തികൾ, ഞാൻ ചെയ്യുന്ന പ്രവൃത്തികൾ തന്നേ, പിതാവു എന്നെ അയച്ചു എന്നു എന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു സാക്ഷീകരിക്കുന്നു.

³⁸അവന്റെ വചനം നിങ്ങളുടെ ഉള്ളിൽ വസിക്കുന്നതുമില്ല അവൻ അയച്ചവനെ നിങ്ങൾ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നില്ലല്ലോ.

³⁹നിങ്ങൾ തിരുവെഴുത്തുകളെ ശോധനചെയ്യുന്നു; അവയിൽ നിങ്ങൾക്കു നിത്യജീവൻ ഉണ്ടു എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ നിരൂപിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ; അവ എനിക്കു സാക്ഷ്യം പറയുന്നു.

⁴⁰എങ്കിലും ജീവൻ പ്രാപിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വരുവാൻ നിങ്ങൾക്കു മനസ്സില്ല.

⁴¹ഞാൻ മനുഷ്യരോടു ബഹുമാനം വാങ്ങുന്നില്ല.

⁴²എന്നാൽ നിങ്ങൾക്കു ഉള്ളിൽ ദൈവസ്നേഹം ഇല്ല എന്നു ഞാൻ അറിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.

⁴³ഞാൻ എന്റെ പിതാവിന്റെ നാമത്തിൽ വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; എന്നെ നിങ്ങൾ കൈക്കൊള്ളുന്നില്ല; മറ്റൊരുത്തൻ സ്വന്തനാമത്തിൽ വന്നാൽ അവനെ നിങ്ങൾ കൈക്കൊള്ളും.

⁴⁴തമ്മിൽ തമ്മിൽ ബഹുമാനം വാങ്ങിക്കൊണ്ടു ഏകദൈവത്തിന്റെ പക്കൽ നിന്നുള്ള ബഹുമാനം അന്വേഷിക്കാത്ത നിങ്ങൾക്കു എങ്ങനെ വിശ്വസിപ്പാൻ കഴിയും?

⁴⁵ഞാൻ പിതാവിന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ നിങ്ങളെ കുറ്റം ചുമത്തും എന്നു നിങ്ങൾക്കു തോന്നരുതു. നിങ്ങളെ കുറ്റം ചുമത്തുന്നവൻ ഉണ്ടു; നിങ്ങൾ പ്രത്യാശ വെച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന മോശെ തന്നേ.

⁴⁶നിങ്ങൾ മോശെയെ വിശ്വസിച്ചു എങ്കിൽ എന്നെയും വിശ്വസിക്കുമായിരുന്നു; അവൻ എന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

²²After these things, Jesus came with his disciples into the land of Judea. He stayed there with them and baptized.

²³John also was baptizing in Enon near Salim, because there was much water there. They came and were baptized;

²⁴for John was not yet thrown into prison.

²⁵Therefore a dispute arose on the part of John’s disciples with some Jews about purification.

²⁶They came to John and said to him, “Rabbi, he who was with you beyond the Jordan, to whom you have testified, behold, he baptizes, and everyone is coming to him.”

²⁷John answered, “A man can receive nothing unless it has been given him from heaven.

²⁸You yourselves testify that I said, ‘I am not the Christ,’ but, ‘I have been sent before him.’

²⁹He who has the bride is the bridegroom; but the friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly because of the bridegroom’s voice. Therefore my joy is made full.

³⁰He must increase, but I must decrease.

³¹“He who comes from above is above all. He who is from the earth belongs to the earth and speaks of the earth. He who comes from heaven is above all.

³²What he has seen and heard, of that he testifies; and no one receives his witness.

³³He who has received his witness has set his seal to this, that God is true.

³⁴For he whom God has sent speaks the words of God; for God gives the Spirit without measure.

³⁵The Father loves the Son, and has given all things into his hand.

³⁶One who believes in the Son has eternal life, but one who disobeys the Son won’t see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.”

¹Therefore when the Lord knew that the Pharisees had heard that Jesus was making and baptizing more disciples than John

²(although Jesus himself didn’t baptize, but his disciples),

³he left Judea and departed into Galilee.

²²അതിന്റെ ശേഷം യേശു ശിഷ്യന്മാരുമായി യെഹൂദ്യദേശത്തു വന്നു അവരോടുകൂടെ സ്നാനം കഴിപ്പിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

²⁹മണവാട്ടി ഉള്ളവൻ മണവാളൻ ആകുന്നു; മണവാളന്റെ സ്നേഹിതനോ നിന്നു മണവാളന്റെ സ്വരം കേട്ടിട്ടു അത്യന്തം സന്തോഷിക്കുന്നു; ഈ എന്റെ സന്തോഷം പൂർത്തിയായിരിക്കുന്നു.

³⁰അവൻ വളരേണം, ഞാനോ കുറയേണം എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

³¹മേലിൽ നിന്നു വരുന്നവൻ എല്ലാവർക്കും മീതെയുള്ളവൻ ; ഭൂമിയിൽ നിന്നുള്ളവൻ ഭൌമികൻ ആകുന്നു; ഭൌമികമായതു സംസാരിക്കുന്നു; സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിൽനിന്നു വരുന്നവൻ എല്ലാവർക്കും മീതെയുള്ളവനായി താൻ കാൺകെയും കേൾക്കയും ചെയ്തതു സാക്ഷീകരിക്കുന്നു;

³²അവന്റെ സാക്ഷ്യം ആരും കൈക്കൊള്ളുന്നില്ല.

³³അവന്റെ സാക്ഷ്യം കൈക്കൊള്ളുന്നവൻ ദൈവം സത്യവാൻ എന്നുള്ളതിന്നു മുദ്രയിടുന്നു.

³⁴ദൈവം അയച്ചവൻ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ വചനം പ്രസ്താവിക്കുന്നു; അവൻ ആത്മാവിനെ അളവുകൂടാതെയല്ലോ കൊടുക്കുന്നതു.

³⁵പിതാവു പുത്രനെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നു; സകലവും അവന്റെ കയ്യിൽ കൊടുത്തുമിരിക്കുന്നു.

³⁶പുത്രനിൽ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നവന്നു നിത്യജീവൻ ഉണ്ടു; പുത്രനെ അനുസരിക്കാത്തവനോ ജീവനെ കാണുകയില്ല; ദൈവക്രോധം അവന്റെമേൽ വസിക്കുന്നതേയുളളു.

¹യേശു യോഹന്നാനെക്കാൾ അധികം ശിഷ്യന്മാരെ ചേർത്തു സ്നാനം കഴിപ്പിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പരീശന്മാർ കേട്ടു എന്നു കർത്താവു അറിഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ —

²ശിഷ്യന്മാർ അല്ലാതെ, യേശു തന്നേ സ്നാനം കഴിപ്പിച്ചില്ലതാനും —

³അവൻ യെഹൂദ്യദേശം വിട്ടു പിന്നെയും ഗലീലെക്കു യാത്രയായി. അവൻ ശമര്യയിൽകൂടി കടന്നുപോകേണ്ടിവന്നു.

¹⁹The men of the city said to Elisha, “Behold, please, the situation of this city is pleasant, as my lord sees; but the water is bad, and the land is barren.”

²⁰He said, “Bring me a new jar, and put salt in it.” Then they brought it to him.

²¹He went out to the spring of the waters, and threw salt into it, and said, “Yahweh says, ‘I have healed these waters. There shall not be from there any more death or barren wasteland.’ ”

²²So the waters were healed to this day, according to Elisha’s word which he spoke.

¹⁹അനന്തരം ആ പട്ടണക്കാർ എലീശയോടു: ഈ പട്ടണത്തിന്റെ ഇരിപ്പു മനോഹരമായതെന്നു യജമാനൻ കാണുന്നുവല്ലോ; എന്നാൽ വെള്ളം ചീത്തയും ദേശം ഗർഭനാശകവും ആകുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

²⁰അതിന്നു അവൻ : ഒരു പുതിയ തളിക കൊണ്ടുവന്നു അതിൽ ഉപ്പു ഇടുവിൻ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അവർ അതു അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.

²¹അവൻ നീരുറവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നു അതിൽ ഉപ്പു ഇട്ടു. ഞാൻ ഈ വെള്ളം പഥ്യമാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു; ഇനി ഇതിനാൽ മരണവും ഗർഭനാശവും ഉണ്ടാകയില്ല എന്നു യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

²²എലീശാ പറഞ്ഞതുപോലെ ആ വെള്ളം ഇന്നുവരെ പഥ്യമായിത്തന്നേ ഇരിക്കുന്നു.

²¹Land, don’t be afraid.

²²Don’t be afraid, you animals of the field;

²³“Be glad then, you children of Zion,

²⁴The threshing floors will be full of wheat,

²⁵I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten,

²⁶You will have plenty to eat and be satisfied,

²⁷You will know that I am among Israel,

²⁸“It will happen afterward, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh;

²⁹And also on the servants and on the handmaids in those days,

³⁰I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth:

³¹The sun will be turned into darkness,

³²It will happen that whoever will call on Yahweh’s name shall be saved;

²¹ദേശമേ, ഭയപ്പെടേണ്ടാ, ഘോഷിച്ചുല്ലസിച്ചു സന്തോഷിക്ക; യഹോവ വൻ കാര്യങ്ങളെ ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

²²വയലിലേ മൃഗങ്ങളേ, ഭയപ്പെടേണ്ടാ; മരുഭൂമിയിലെ പുല്പുറങ്ങൾ പച്ചവെക്കുന്നു; വൃക്ഷം ഫലം കായക്കുന്നു; അത്തിവൃക്ഷവും മുന്തിരിവള്ളിയും അനുഭവപുഷ്ടി നലകുന്നു.

²³സീയോൻ മക്കളേ, ഘോഷിച്ചുല്ലസിച്ചു നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയിൽ സന്തോഷിപ്പിൻ ! അവൻ തക്ക അളവായി നിങ്ങൾക്കു മുൻ മഴ തരുന്നു; അവൻ മുമ്പേപ്പോലെ നിങ്ങൾക്കു മുൻ മഴയും പിൻ മഴയുമായ വർഷം പെയ്യിച്ചുതരുന്നു.

²⁴അങ്ങനെ കളപ്പുരകൾ ധാന്യംകൊണ്ടു നിറയും; ചക്കുകൾ വീഞ്ഞും എണ്ണയും കൊണ്ടു കവിയും.

²⁵ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിൽ അയച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന എന്റെ മഹാസൈന്യമായ വെട്ടുക്കിളിയും വിട്ടിലും തുള്ളനും പച്ചപ്പുഴുവും തിന്നുകളഞ്ഞ സംവത്സരങ്ങൾക്കു വേണ്ടി ഞാൻ നിങ്ങൾക്കു പകരം നലകും.

²⁶നിങ്ങൾ വേണ്ടുവോളം തിന്നു തൃപ്തരായി, നിങ്ങളോടു അത്ഭുതമായി പ്രവർത്തിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ നാമത്തെ സ്തുതിക്കും; എന്റെ ജനം ഒരുനാളും ലജ്ജിച്ചുപോകയുമില്ല.

²⁷ഞാൻ യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ നടുവിൽ ഉണ്ടു; ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ, മറ്റൊരുത്തന്നുമില്ല എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ അറിയും; എന്റെ ജനം ഒരു നാളും ലജ്ജിച്ചുപോകയുമില്ല.

²⁸അതിന്റെ ശേഷമോ, ഞാൻ സകലജഡത്തിന്മേലും എന്റെ ആത്മാവിനെ പകരും, നിങ്ങളുടെ പുത്രന്മാരും പുത്രിമാരും പ്രവചിക്കും; നിങ്ങളുടെ വൃദ്ധന്മാർ സ്വപ്നങ്ങളെ കാണും; നിങ്ങളുടെ യൌവനക്കാർ ദർശനങ്ങളെ ദർശിക്കും.

²⁹ദാസന്മാരുടെ മേലും ദാസിമാരുടെമേലും കൂടെ ഞാൻ ആ നാളുകളിൽ എന്റെ ആത്മാവിനെ പകരും.

³⁰ഞാൻ ആകാശത്തിലും ഭൂമിയിലും അത്ഭുതങ്ങളെ കാണിക്കും: രക്തവും തീയും പുകത്തൂണും തന്നേ.

³¹യഹോവയുടെ വലുതും ഭയങ്കരവുമായുള്ള ദിവസം വരുംമുമ്പെ സൂര്യൻ ഇരുളായും ചന്ദ്രൻ രക്തമായും മാറിപ്പോകും.

³²എന്നാൽ യഹോവയുടെ നാമം വിളിച്ചപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നവൻ ഏവനും രക്ഷിക്കപെടും; യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതുപോലെ സിയോൻ പർവ്വതത്തിലും യെരൂശലേമിലും ഒരു രക്ഷിതഗണവും ശേഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നവരുടെ കൂട്ടത്തിൽ യഹോവ വിളിപ്പാനുള്ളവരും ഉണ്ടാകും.

¹“At that time,” says Yahweh, “I will be the God of all the families of Israel, and they will be my people.”

²Yahweh says, “The people who survive the sword found favor in the wilderness; even Israel, when I went to cause him to rest.”

³Yahweh appeared of old to me, saying,

⁴I will build you again,

⁵Again you will plant vineyards on the mountains of Samaria.

⁶For there will be a day that the watchmen on the hills of Ephraim cry,

⁷For Yahweh says,

⁸Behold, I will bring them from the north country,

⁹They will come with weeping.

¹⁰“Hear Yahweh’s word, you nations,

¹¹For Yahweh has ransomed Jacob,

¹²They will come and sing in the height of Zion,

¹ആ കാലത്തു ഞാൻ യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ സകലവംശങ്ങൾക്കും ദൈവമായും അവർ എനിക്കു ജനമായും ഇരിക്കും എന്നു യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.

²യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: വാളിന്നു തെറ്റി ശേഷിച്ച ജനം മരുഭൂമിയിൽ കൃപ കണ്ടെത്തി; ഞാൻ യിസ്രായേലിന്നു വിശ്രാമം വരുത്തുവാൻ പോകുന്നു.

³യഹോവ ദൂരത്തുനിന്നു എനിക്കു പ്രത്യക്ഷമായി അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു: നിത്യസ്നേഹംകൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ നിന്നെ സ്നേഹിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; അതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ നിനക്കു ദയ ദീർഘമാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

⁴യിസ്രായേൽകന്യകേ, ഞാൻ നിനക്കു വീണ്ടും അഭിവൃദ്ധി വരുത്തുകയും നീ അഭിവൃദ്ധിപ്രാപിക്കയും ചെയ്യും; നീ ഇനിയും ചേലോടെ തപ്പു എടുത്തുകൊണ്ടു സന്തോഷിച്ചു, നൃത്തംചെയ്യുന്നവരുടെ നിരയിൽ പുറപ്പെടും.

⁵നീ ഇനിയും ശമർയ്യപർവ്വതങ്ങളിൽ മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടം ഉണ്ടാക്കും; കൃഷിക്കാർ കൃഷിചെയ്തു ഫലം അനുഭവിക്കും.

⁶എഴുന്നേല്പിൻ ; നാം സീയോനിലേക്കു, നമ്മുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ അടുക്കലേക്കു, കയറിപ്പോക എന്നു കാവൽക്കാർ എഫ്രയീംമലനാട്ടിൽ വിളിച്ചുപറയുന്ന നാൾ വരും.

⁷യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: യാക്കോബിനെച്ചൊല്ലി ഘോഷിച്ചുല്ലസിപ്പിൻ ! ജാതികളുടെ തലവനെക്കുറിച്ചു സന്തോഷിച്ചു ആർപ്പിടുവിൻ ! ഘോഷിച്ചും സ്തുതിച്ചുംകൊണ്ടു: യഹോവേ, യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ശേഷിപ്പായിരിക്കുന്ന നിന്റെ ജനത്തെ രക്ഷിക്കേണമേ എന്നു പറവിൻ !

⁸ഞാൻ അവരെ വടക്കുദേശത്തുനിന്നു വരുത്തുകയും ഭൂമിയുടെ അറ്റങ്ങളിൽനിന്നു അവരെയും അവരോടുകൂടെ കുരുടനെയും മുടന്തനെയും ഗർഭിണിയെയും നോവുകിട്ടിയവളെയും എല്ലാം ശേഖരിക്കയും ചെയ്യും; അങ്ങനെ വലിയോരു സംഘം ഇവിടേക്കു മടങ്ങിവരും.

¹⁶Now while Paul waited for them at Athens, his spirit was provoked within him as he saw the city full of idols.

¹⁷So he reasoned in the synagogue with the Jews and the devout persons, and in the marketplace every day with those who met him.

¹⁸Some of the Epicurean and Stoic philosophers also were conversing with him. Some said, “What does this babbler want to say?”

¹⁹They took hold of him and brought him to the Areopagus, saying, “May we know what this new teaching is, which you are speaking about?

²⁰For you bring certain strange things to our ears. We want to know therefore what these things mean.”

²¹Now all the Athenians and the strangers living there spent their time in nothing else, but either to tell or to hear some new thing.

²²Paul stood in the middle of the Areopagus and said, “You men of Athens, I perceive that you are very religious in all things.

²³For as I passed along and observed the objects of your worship, I also found an altar with this inscription: ‘TO AN UNKNOWN GOD.’ What therefore you worship in ignorance, I announce to you.

²⁴The God who made the world and all things in it, he, being Lord of heaven and earth, doesn’t dwell in temples made with hands.

²⁵He isn’t served by men’s hands, as though he needed anything, seeing he himself gives to all life and breath and all things.

²⁶He made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the surface of the earth, having determined appointed seasons and the boundaries of their dwellings,

²⁷that they should seek the Lord, if perhaps they might reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us.

²⁸‘For in him we live, move, and have our being.’ As some of your own poets have said, ‘For we are also his offspring.’

²⁹Being then the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Divine Nature is like gold, or silver, or stone, engraved by art and design of man.

³⁰The times of ignorance therefore God overlooked. But now he commands that all people everywhere should repent,

³¹because he has appointed a day in which he will judge the world in righteousness by the man whom he has ordained; of which he has given assurance to all men, in that he has raised him from the dead.”

³²Now when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some mocked; but others said, “We want to hear you again concerning this.”

³³Thus Paul went out from among them.

³⁴But certain men joined with him and believed, including Dionysius the Areopagite, and a woman named Damaris, and others with them.

²⁵കൈപ്പണിയായ ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളിൽ വാസം ചെയ്യുന്നില്ല. താൻ എല്ലാവർക്കും ജീവനും ശ്വാസവും സകലവും കൊടുക്കുന്നവൻ ആകയാൽ വല്ലതിന്നും മുട്ടുള്ളവൻ എന്നപോലെ മാനുഷ്യകൈകളാൽ ശുശ്രൂഷ ആവശ്യപ്പെടുന്നില്ല.

²⁶ഭൂതലത്തിൽ എങ്ങു കുടിയിരിപ്പാൻ അവൻ ഒരുത്തനിൽനിന്നു മനുഷ്യജാതിയെ ഒക്കെയും ഉളവാക്കി, അവരുടെ നിവാസത്തിന്നു അതിരുകളും കാലങ്ങളും നിശചയിച്ചു.

²⁷അവർ ദൈവത്തെ തപ്പിനോക്കി കണ്ടെത്തുമോ എന്നു വെച്ചു അവനെ അന്വേഷിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു തന്നേ. അവൻ നമ്മിൽ ആർക്കും അകന്നിരിക്കുന്നവനല്ലതാനും.

²⁸അവനിലല്ലോ നാം ജീവിക്കയും ചരിക്കയും ഇരിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നത്. അങ്ങനെ നിങ്ങളുടെ കവിവരന്മാരിലും ചിലർ “നാം അവന്റെ സന്താനമല്ലോ” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.

²⁹നാം ദൈവത്തിന്റെ സന്താനം എന്നു വരികയാൽ ദൈവം മനുഷ്യന്റെ ശില്പവിദ്യയും സങ്കല്പവുംകൊണ്ടു കൊത്തിത്തീർക്കുംന്ന പൊൻ , വെള്ളി, കല്ലു എന്നിവയോടു സദൃശം എന്നു നിരൂപിക്കേണ്ടതല്ല.

³⁰എന്നാൽ അറിയായ്മയുടെ കാലങ്ങളെ ദൈവം ലക്ഷ്യമാക്കാതെ ഇപ്പോൾ എല്ലായിടത്തും എല്ലാവരും മാനസാന്തരപ്പെടേണമെന്നു മനുഷ്യരോടു കല്പിക്കുന്നു.

³¹താൻ നിയമിച്ച പുരുഷൻ മുഖാന്തരം ലോകത്തെ നീതിയിൽ ന്യായം വിധിപ്പാൻ അവൻ ഒരു ദിവസത്തെ നിശ്ചയിച്ചു അവനെ മരിച്ചവരിൽനിന്നു ഉയിർത്തെഴുന്നേല്പിച്ചതിനാൽ എല്ലാവർക്കും അതിന്റെ ഉറപ്പു നല്കിയുമിരിക്കുന്നു.

³²മരിച്ചവരുടെ പുനരുത്ഥാനത്തെക്കുറിച്ചു കേട്ടിട്ടു ചിലർ പരിഹസിച്ചു; മറ്റുചിലർ: ഞങ്ങൾ ഇതിനെപ്പറ്റി പിന്നെയും നിന്റെ പ്രസംഗം കേൾക്കാം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

³⁴ചില പുരുഷന്മാർ അവനോടു ചേർന്നു വിശ്വസിച്ചു; അവരിൽ അരയോപഗസ്ഥാനിയായ ദിയൊനുസ്യോസും ദമരീസ് എന്നു പേരുള്ളോരു സ്ത്രീയും മറ്റു ചിലരും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

¹⁶Don’t you know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit lives in you?

¹⁷If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy him; for God’s temple is holy, which you are.

¹⁸Let no one deceive himself. If anyone thinks that he is wise among you in this world, let him become a fool that he may become wise.

¹⁹For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, “He has taken the wise in their craftiness.”

²⁰And again, “The Lord knows the reasoning of the wise, that it is worthless.”

²¹Therefore let no one boast in men. For all things are yours,

²²whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come. All are yours,

²³and you are Christ’s, and Christ is God’s.

¹So let a man think of us as Christ’s servants and stewards of God’s mysteries.

²Here, moreover, it is required of stewards that they be found faithful.

³But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged by you, or by a human court. Yes, I don’t even judge my own self.

⁴For I know nothing against myself. Yet I am not justified by this, but he who judges me is the Lord.

⁵Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord comes, who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness and reveal the counsels of the hearts. Then each man will get his praise from God.

¹⁶നിങ്ങൾ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ മന്ദിരം എന്നും ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ആത്മാവു നിങ്ങളിൽ വസിക്കുന്നു എന്നും അറിയുന്നില്ലയോ?

¹⁷ദൈവത്തിന്റെ മന്ദിരം നശിപ്പിക്കുന്നവനെ ദൈവം നശിപ്പിക്കും; ദൈവത്തിന്റെ മന്ദിരം വിശുദ്ധമല്ലോ; നിങ്ങളും അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ.

²¹ആകയാൽ ആരും മനുഷ്യരിൽ പ്രശംസിക്കരുതു; സകലവും നിങ്ങൾക്കുള്ളതല്ലോ.

²²പൗലൊസോ, അപ്പൊല്ലൊസോ, കേഫാവോ, ലോകമോ, ജീവനോ, മരണമോ, ഇപ്പോഴുള്ളതോ, വരുവാനുള്ളതോ സകലവും നിങ്ങൾക്കുള്ളതു.

¹Now there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews.

²He came to Jesus by night and said to him, “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher come from God, for no one can do these signs that you do, unless God is with him.”

³Jesus answered him, “Most certainly I tell you, unless one is born anew, he can’t see God’s Kingdom.”

⁴Nicodemus said to him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?”

⁵Jesus answered, “Most certainly I tell you, unless one is born of water and Spirit, he can’t enter into God’s Kingdom.

⁶That which is born of the flesh is flesh. That which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

⁷Don’t marvel that I said to you, ‘You must all be born anew.’

⁸The wind blows where it wants to, and you hear its sound, but don’t know where it comes from and where it is going. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.”

⁹Nicodemus answered him, “How can these things be?”

¹⁰Jesus answered him, “Are you the teacher of Israel, and don’t understand these things?

¹¹Most certainly I tell you, we speak that which we know and testify of that which we have seen, and you don’t receive our witness.

¹²If I told you earthly things and you don’t believe, how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things?

¹പരീശന്മാരുടെ കൂട്ടത്തിൽ യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ ഒരു പ്രമാണിയായി നിക്കോദേമൊസ് എന്നു പേരുള്ളോരു മനുഷ്യൻ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

⁴നിക്കോദെമൊസ് അവനോടു: മനുഷ്യൻ വൃദ്ധനായശേഷം ജനിക്കുന്നതു എങ്ങനെ? രണ്ടാമതും അമ്മയുടെ ഉദരത്തിൽ കടന്നു ജനിക്കാമോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

⁵അതിന്നു യേശു: ആമേൻ , ആമേൻ , ഞാൻ നിന്നോടു പറയുന്നു: വെള്ളത്താലും ആത്മാവിനാലും ജനിച്ചില്ല എങ്കിൽ ദൈവരാജ്യത്തിൽ കടപ്പാൻ ആർക്കും കഴികയില്ല.

⁶ജഡത്താൽ ജനിച്ചതു ജഡം ആകുന്നു; ആത്മാവിനാൽ ജനിച്ചതു ആത്മാവു ആകുന്നു.

⁷നിങ്ങൾ പുതുതായി ജനിക്കേണം എന്നു ഞാൻ നിന്നോടു പറകയാൽ ആശ്ചര്യപ്പെടരുതു.

⁸കാറ്റു ഇഷ്ടമുള്ളേടത്തു ഊതുന്നു; അതിന്റെ ശബ്ദം നീ കേൾക്കുന്നു; എങ്കിലും അതു എവിടെനിന്നു വരുന്നു എന്നും എവിടേക്കു പോകുന്നു എന്നും അറിയുന്നില്ല; ആത്മാവിനാൽ ജനിച്ചവൻ എല്ലാം അതുപോലെ ആകുന്നു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

⁹നിക്കോദേമൊസ് അവനോടു: ഇതു എങ്ങനെ സംഭവിക്കും എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

¹⁰യേശു അവനോടു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞതു: നീ യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ഉപദേഷ്ടാവായിരുന്നിട്ടും ഇതു അറിയുന്നില്ലയോ?

¹¹ആമേൻ , ആമേൻ , ഞാൻ നിന്നോടു പറയുന്നു: ഞങ്ങൾ അറിയുന്നതു പ്രസ്താവിക്കയും കണ്ടതു സാക്ഷീകരിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നു: ഞങ്ങളുടെ സാക്ഷ്യം നിങ്ങൾ കൈക്കൊള്ളുന്നില്ലതാനും.

¹²ഭൂമിയിലുള്ളതു നിങ്ങളോടു പറഞ്ഞിട്ടു നിങ്ങൾ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നില്ലെങ്കിൽ സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിലുള്ളതു നിങ്ങളോടു പറഞ്ഞാൽ എങ്ങനെ വിശ്വസിക്കും?
